Hi - im just wondering how many people use TTC vitamins like blackmores conceive well gold or elevit or something like that?? ... is it something that is essential to use before TTC with IVF???
I'm starting my first IVF cycle and my nurse told me yesterday i should go on one (as i told her 3 years of TTC would have wasted my money being on a TTC vitamin)
Are they all pretty much the same..... which would you recommend??
My clinic also made sure I was taking elevit when I started on the IVF route.
I find it better than Blackmores just because of the size of the tablet, and I do actually find they make me feel pretty good overall compared to some other general multi's.
3 years ago, I would have posted, pffft, women have been having babies for years without vitamins, especially after having two natural pregnancies, without having taken a single vitamin at 40 & 41.
Sadly and not so sadly, I have learnt that vitamins and diet, does have a positive effect on lttc. The proof is in my monitered egg quality. It has improved with the suppliments I have been taking, and I had a big discussion about this with FS. And the proof is that I was able to freeze an embryo on my 4th stim cycle, I feel proud about our frostie.
So hun, yes, I take vitamins, and I know they make a difference. Your eggs take three months to grow, so a high protein diet is beneficial, I also take (thanks to my wonderful BB friends) royal jelly, a lot of B vitamins, (6,9,12) 5mg folate, ferrograd (an iron plus vitamin c) coQ10.
Initially, I was so sceptical about ttc and vitamins, I am now an advocate of how they improve egg quality, and then hopefully make us one day closer to that bfp.
HTH, and all the very best with your cycle

Holly - do you mind if i ask what manevit will do??? Does your DH have a low count??? Of is it just to give abit of a boost??? (so sorry if thats a too personal question)
S'rose - thanks for that..... so Elevit is smaller?? I always have problems swallowing tablets

Hey Nikki, I have trouble with swallowing tablets too, so Elevit is easier because they are smaller and if I remember correctly you always had to take 2 blackmore's, whereas Elevit is only one.
So on that front I would recommend them definitely.
Menevit is now recommended for men to improve sperm quality, and I have heard reports that it definitely does help from BB women before. I'm sure there's more to that, but I've not had DH take it.
