Down Regulation cycle and the pill

I am doing my first ever down reg cycle with my new FS. Previous cycles have always been antagonist.

I have been on the pill for a week (tonight will be dose # 8) and I am CD8 today.

I have a couple of questions....

Firstly, I have been very headachey. Related? Or just a coincidence?

Secondly, I have put on 3kg in a week!!! Normal?

Thirdly, I am still bleeding from AF. Dark brown blood now but still there. Is this the pill?? (It's been a long time since I last started the pill )

    Thanks

Down Regulation cycle and the pill

I bleed the entire 4 weeks I was on the pill before I start ivf. I also stacked on kilos. I didn't do the down reg though but my lead up was the same with taking the pill :/

I've been on the pill since August mainly because I finished Zoladex treatment and was still waiting on endo operation so they didn't want me getting AF but I am still on it now (thankfully only until tomorrow) for down reg IVF cycle. I have had bleeding as well not related to AF as I haven't taken any of the sugar pills & I remember years ago when I was on the pill I used to get bleeding between periods as well. Weight gain - I've gained about 3 kilos since being on it that I can't lose no matter how much I try. I think if I wasn't trying to lose it though I would probably have gained more. Headaches I'm getting alot of lately but I think that's due to the Synarel....

im going through the same thing at the moment, not getting headaches as such but then i get a lot of sinus pain so its hard to know whats what ! I am with you on the weight gain though, i also had put on 4 kgs in a few weeks, i haven't been great with my eating but haven't been much different to normal so who knows

i don't usually suffer spotting on the pill but i know its not unusual, are you going onto the nasal spray or injections next ?

    Thanks everyone

I am starting synarel in about 10 days. Not looking forward to it to be honest!

I guess it's only for a short time so I'll just have to suck it up!

I wasn't looking forward to Synarel either but I've been on it for 17 days and really haven't had many side effects. Headaches and I've had about 3 really flat days where I've just wanted to cry all day for no reason but I pick myself up again and carry on. Haven't had any hot flushes etc at all...

i can't take the pill at all due to the migraines it triggers - it's very possible that the pill is causing your headaches

I think it is BG. It is that real tension headache feeling. When it has been bad I have felt like throwing up.

It's weird that after all the hormones, etc I have been taking the past couple of years the pill is the one doing my head in (literally!).

the others gave me some niggly headaches, but i've never managed to get through a cycle on the pill. 10 days was the longest, which was last year after being told it was essential due to finding pre-cancer cells. pill for 6 weeks before surgery. after 10 days i was so ill with the migraine, they took me off it, i ended up in hospital bleeding uncontrollably, and surgery was moved up.

after the op, the gyne wanted me to have the mirena, but i'm so damn scared of the impact of the hormones that i just can't do it!

i got a headache or two when i started the pill, but eased off after the first week (same thing when i started syranel, and like faye i had a few random days where i have felt like crying for no apparent reason). i have been spotting the entire time while on pill (around 3-4 weeks) , nurses tell me this can happen and is 'normal'.

havent noticed weight gain, maybe a kilo... but i havent been eating that well lately, so might just be too many coffee & cake days.

Oh my ovaries! They are so sore and feel swollen (almost like when you are stimming). Can I blame the pill?

I don't recall that side effect, but I never lasted more than a few days so maybe I didn't hit that point...

    Heat pack time!

Ugh. Blame the pill for everything. I am amazed so many people take it and tolerate it. Hope it does the trick though.

    Thanks....I am not liking this

I can tolerate high doses of fsh, progesterone, HCG but this is yucky.

And, of course, this is the weekend of work's national conference and AGM

    Thanks TT xxx

The pill side effects seem to have subsided. I go to the clinic tomorrow to pick up the rest of my drugs and prescriptions.
