I'm pretty much numb right now, even though I fully prepared myself for the worst at the u/s. I kept it together until the lovely lady that did my scan told me not to worry about fixing the account today. God bless her cotton socks, there were pg ladies waiting for their videos and to pay their accounts. I'm also freaking out a little bit because I don't know what to expect now. I've had a late term m/c but that was different b/c I had to go through labour and when the placenta didn't come out fully they did a d & c, and I woke up relatively free of physical pain. I did have this weird bleeding with lots of clots a couple of days later at home which wasn't painful, it just caught me off guard in a shop one day where I had to cross my legs tight b/c I felt something big was coming out I eventually found a hairdresser a few doors down that let me use her toilet, and then all these clots came out and I lost quite a bit of blood, I almost fainted. This experience scared the crap out of me. I was expecting my FS to call today, but he hasn't and so far I was thinking of a d & c. But how would I go with a natural m/c, would there be lots of pain to pass a tiny little sac which is only 11mm long? What if I start bleeding in the middle of the night? I've had some mild cramps last night, and some very mild ones today, but so far no spotting etc.
Miss B, Im so sorry for your loss . Its so awful to find out an u/s scan and then to see all the other happy mummas . Im so sad for you Miss B, I really am. Its just not fair that you have to go through another loss.
As for whats next, its up to you. If you want to wait for the m/c to happen on its own you can (though it may take several weeks) or book in for the D&C. With my first m/c, the baby died at 9.5 weeks but I had the D&C at 11w because it just wasnt happening on its own. Its up to you and what you want to do.
There are pros and cons to having the d & c. Maybe you could set a time to wait, and if nothing has happened by then (say 7 days? Your pick) then opt for the d&c. It could take a while. What an awful decision - I wish so hard that you didn't have to make it.
I had my 7 week + miscarriage naturally and spontaneously it was painful and I went to hospital and had morphine. My only advice is if you decide to Naturally mc if the pain gets too much please go to the ED I waited too long and I regret that. I have had one mc painfree just like heavy period. Hugs babe I wish this wasn't happening x
Thanks ladies for your advice. I will call the FS tomorrow and ask him what I should do. What scares me the most is the pain, I don't like it, although I think I have a high threshold due to my painful periods before DS was born.
