I had my endo removed, then had IVF and it worked first time.
What is the point in having IVF when there is endo there that might potentially prevent a pregnancy? I don't understand your FS letting you go ahead with it before making sure everything is as clear as can be.
Wow reading your post is like living what i have been through! I had undiagnosed endo, although i was convinced I had it but my FS said "nothing is showing on scans".. after 6 rounds of clomid and 1 very poor response to one IVF cycle, I had a lap in 2005 and I was absolutely covered in endo. Grade 5, it was on my bowel, bladder.. I had to be referred to a big surgeon in Sydney who chopped it all out within 3 operations. I took time out from TTC and after a 2 year break which involved travelling with volunteer work nursing in the South Pacific, my DH and I did IVF again with a new FS in QLD and fell first go. I am now 19 weeks.
I guess my advice would be to go and have it removed. Endometriosis can also make your egg quality poor. Our first cycle I only got two eggs, the second go 4 years later with all the endo gone we got 15! Having it removed may also increase your ability to fall naturally..
All the best and I am sure you will make the right choice
Hi Worrywart and all!
I was diagnosed with endo back in 2007 via a laparoscopy and had it burnt off. nothing else done about it since. Done over 5 cycles of IVF, which have gotten to transfer stage, but none successful. Had a biopsy done on my lining and saw FS tonight for results which point to Adenomyosis. After reading a considerable amount of information on the internet, has anyone ever given thought or read up on adenomyosis?
I'm not sure if anyone knows much about it, but its kinda related to endometriosis - bits of tissue are in the muscle wall which surrounds your lining of the womb and can affect any embyos attaching....am just learning about this ...have been pouring over the internet for past 3 hours!!
I was hoping someone in the Belly Belly Forum might have had some experience with treatments for adeno?. or used Lupron, Lucrin or Synarel? my FS has suggested Synarel, but not liking what I've been reading so far as symptons/side effects....help!!
