Hi Rollercoaster - I am doing my first natural FET at the moment and I know what you mean about being scared of missing ovulation. On the suggestion of someone else I started testing a couple of times a day just to be sure that I would catch it.
FYI I had a scan on Monday and a BT. My Follie was around 17mm and my BT was negative. I too felt like I was ovulating or at least close to it. I tested at home yesterday twice and both times were negative. I tested at home this morning and I got a positive. BT this morning also confirmed I am surging and will be ovulating tomorrow.
For your peace of mind there are 2 days that you can pick up on the surge - the day before and the day of ovulation.
Is there any way that you could get them to do a BT for you? My clinic does them every second day once your follie gets to a certain size. That way they are guaranteed of catching either the day of the surge or the day of ovulation.
Rollercoaster- I feel or you, it actually happened to me last year ( missing ovulation) and my FET got cancelled until the next month-I was SHATTERED at the time.
I was doing opks and had a scan but by the time i started opks I think i had ovulated that day. I don't think the scan differentiated between whether the follicle was pre or post ovulation. I kept doing opks but got nothing, the darkest line was the first day I did it ( but it was pretty light) and after a few more days I realised what had happened, had a BT and it was confirmed i had already ovulated- grrrrrrr!!! Partly my fault as i didn't tell the nurses i sometimes ovulate early, so maybe they would have told me to start opks ealier.
Anyway, after that debarcle I now have BTs everyday from cd8 or9 to track ovulation for FETs, sometimes have to have 4 or 5 but its worth it ( and I double check at home with my own opks lol)
I agree, FETs should be easier, not more stress, I really, really hope you haven't missed it. Are they checking your progesterone too with a BT as that would be rising if you have already ovulated. SO frustrating, hope you still catch it hun xx
Thanks everyone for the advice, its interesting to see how other clinics work fet's.
I had my transfer yesterday, and ive only got one snow bub left in the freezer. So really not sure if my next cycle will be a fresh or the last of the frozen. So, tww here i am.
I was surprised i wasnt given any progestrone support, but i guess thats how the clinic roles. Trying to keep the tww off my mind, and i did today, so i was happy with that. I remember my last tww i was on holidays from work and it drove me nuts, so keeping busy is the answer.
Thanks guys for the replies, ill keep you all in touch. anyone else doing a tww at the moment, if so, good luck, crossing everything for you all.
The opk's didnt work for me. Each morning it was negative but i knew i was getting close, we can tell these things. I was angry at the opk's, then finally requested another bt and it was positive. Phew!!.. But get this, on the day they said i surged, my discomfort or ov pain kept going all the way up to transfer.. But on saying that, my body is out of whack. I never ever ovulate on my own.GGrrr. Just makes me wonder if i have the right hormones to let the little fella implant... time will tell.
