    First Scan Date

    Hi,
I'm new to IVF and have just begun my first STIM cycle. I'm not booked in for any sort of test until day 8. Is it normal to wait this long before seeing how things are going? I began Puragon (125) on day 3. I feel fine but would like to know what's happening inside. When did other people have their first scan/ blood test?

    Hi,
Thanks- looks like we're doing the same thing then because my scan will also be this Friday. I didn't have a blood test though. I'm on an Antagonist Cycle. Which are you on?

i wish you the best of luck for Friday, hopefully we will both have good news,i'm nervous but excited at the same time.I'm on a down regulated cycle, the bt i had was to check that levels were down.i was put on the pill ,then the nose spray(still sniffing),now the injections.Hope we've got some chrissy bubs coming our way.

Best of luck to you too. Let me know how it goes. The antagonist cycle seems a lot easier from what I've read- less stuff to take and not as many side-effects.

So far, so good. FS said that there were around 15 follicles on each ovary and reduced my daily dose of Puregon to avoid OHSS. I'm happy about that.
DH and I have a weekend away planned over Easter but that's been ruined a bit now because of blood test on Monday and Scan on Tuesday. Think we'll just wear the loss and come home early from the holiday rather than spend the weekend driving to and from the clinic.
How did your scan go? Hope you got good news too.

pleased everything is moving along nicely, that's heap of follicles,i didn't get as many but got two which are 20mm,they seemed happy with that ,had more follicles which they think will catch up by egg collection,so need to trigger tonight, then egg pick up on sunday.good luck with next scan, hope the good news keeps coming for us both,i'll be watching for your updates.

    Hi,
Scan went well- everything looked ready according to FS. I took the trigger last night and will have collection tomorrow. I'm only a little disappointed because we've been told that there's a high chance they won't go ahead with the implant this cycle because of the risk of me developing OHSS.
I feel fine at the moment though and except for a swollen abdomen I have no symptoms so am hoping that it goes ahead after all.
How did you go with your collection?

hi maggie ,how did you go?did the ohss stay away?i have a bt on the 20 th to see if this little embie stuck, sadly lots of our day 3 embies didn't make it to blastocyst, spoke to the scientist today and she said that is what they usually expect.

    their turnout

    Hi Matthew's Mum,
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
My clinic does a day 2 transfer rather than waiting for blastocyst. This is easier in a way- I hate waiting. As it was we had two that didn't even make it to Day 2.
I'm also waiting for my blood test on the 23rd. Funny how the injections were easier than the waiting. I'm not drinking any wine and I hope it's for a good cause (because a glass would really help with stress right now)
I've stocked the pantry full of herbal teas instead. Am I over-reacting?
    Good luck.

    newbie as well

    Hi Maggie and Matthew's mum,

Sounds like we're all in the same boat. I had my ET on Friday and now just waiting out the two week wait. My BT is on the 30th. I'm finding this part of the whole process the hardest to wait through. So far, less side effects than any of the other drugs I've been on (I'm on Crinone) but it's just the waiting and not knowing that's killing me!
I'm doing the herbal tea thing as well! Although what I really want right now is a nice bourban!

Good luck to all of us!
