    Starting IVF...Cyst question

    Hi everyone

I'll start by introducing myself...I'm Megan 32 and DH is 37, we've been trying for almost 4 1/2 years with an early m/c and an ectopic in which i lost my right tube.

We are about to start IVF in June, starting BCP's next week but since i hadn't had an u/s in over a year FS wanted me to get one done before we start. She said the 2ww wasn't an optimal time to do one but it would do for now.

Anyway I got the u/s done Friday and got results today.

    Uterus Size: Normal
    Thickness: Normal
but they found a 13x20mm cystic lesion at the endometrial/myometrial interface and a 4cm rounded lesion within the left ovary. Says most likely represents haemorrhagic change within ovarian cyst.

My question is and what I am worried about.....do you think they will postpone/cancel the first cycle due to this?

Could it just be a corpus luteum cyst and maybe go away once AF shows up or while on BCP?

Has anyone had any experience with cysts and starting IVF?

This is the first time in my life i have ever been aware of having one and am feeling a bit crappy as i don't want the cycle to be cancelled or put on hold. We've planned this so well to fit in with DH's holidays and am so keen to get started.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi STILLtyring and welcome to BellyBelly.

I'm not 100% certain about your question, but I do know on my first ever cycle the clinic forgot to do a scan prior to starting and it turned out I had a cyst on one side and so no folicles on that side. So, if it's the same sort of thing, I guess it would be best to sort it out before starting.

You are also welcome to join our LT TTC & Assisted Conception chatter thread where you can talk with others currently cycling.

Hope it works out for you

Thanks Marcellus for your warm welcome

I saw FS again today and she put my mind at ease, she is not concerned about the smaller cyst as it's in between the endometrium and the outer muscle of the uterus so she said it will most probably go away on it's own and will not affect any chances of success with the cycle.

The larger 4cm one in the ovary she is quite confident that it's just the corpus luteum and it will also go away either when AF arrives or when on the BCP.

So all is a go ahead and we're ready to start as soon as AF starts
