I am very sorry to hear of your struggle and losses I remember feeling like you are and thinking 'Im 21, why am I having to start IVF'. The TTC journey can be incredibly cruel and heartbreaking.
Im sorry that IVF is your next step but hey, it might be the final piece in the puzzle of getting your baby too . Where are you located? Perhaps you can try another clinic that doesnt have the waiting list the one you are looking at does.
You will find alot of support here, so many of us going through the same/similar situations to yourself.
The TTC journey is not an easy one to say the least... it's so hard when it doesn't just happen easily like we want it to. As Lily Dust said IVF may be the step to getting your baby!
Thanks ladies!!
Unfortunately I've been referred so I really have no choice on where I go!! I guess waiting is a good thing, gives me the chance to get that little more healthy, as much as it is really frustrating waiting to hear from the hospital!!
Sorry you are on this journey. You may find it doesn't matter where you have been referred, you can still use that referral at other clinics. I was referred to Melbourne IVF and after an appointment there it was recommended (by Melb IVF) that it may be a good idea to also try Monash IVF and see which one we were more comfortable with and which one would be faster for us. We were able to use the same referral letter. If you find that's not the case, you can ask your GP for a referral to another clinic.
Are you in a rural area? Because that wait time seems rather long. We were seen and had all the testing done within a couple of weeks. The longest part for us was waiting to go to the mandatory counselling session, and also we had to see a geneticist. After he gave the go-ahead I started after my next AF. I hope you can start things quicker than a year if that is what you want.
Best of luck on your journey, and you'll find lots of support here
