Newbie, need to chat to people who can relate

    Hi Ladies

I am doing a down reg cycle 1st one, been taking synarel for 9 days now and have my scan to check the lining on Monday.

I have borderline PCOS and endo, lost my left tube Oct last year due to and ectopic pregnancy. Have had two angel babies all up, one before my daughter was born.

I have one daughter named Charlotte who is 2 and 1/2. I am 42 and basically this is our last chance at trying for another child. We have thrown all our eggs into one basket, sorry for the pun and hope that we can have some sucess with IVF this year.

I know we have a lot of positives going for us, I found out I was pregnant with Charlotte when I was due to start the pill back in 2007. But I seem to go about things the hard way when it comes to getting pregnant.

I'm struggling a bit with the headaches with the spray, plus feel like I have a bad sinus infection. I can cope with the injections have used them 6 cycles in total before. So I cant wait to get to that stage.

My daughter is sick at the moment and I have had hardly any sleep, so finding that hard too. WOuld just like to crawl back to bed some days.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

    Trish

    Hi Trish
I am a newbie too, flitting around threads trying to find where I 'fit'.

Sorry to hear you (and your little girl) are struggling ! All the very best with your journey.

I am starting my first cycle of IVF tomorrow. I'm on a short cycle and hoping my hormone levels will be good tomorrow morning to kick off in the next few days. I am very nervous and a little overwhelmed (so much so I can't remember the exact drugs the FS has me on but will make sure I get a copy of my paperwork from the clinic tomorrow!)
I am 41, TTC#1. It has been a long journey for us, mostly with emotional issues to overcome but we are here now and giving it a shot. We got married quite late in life, neither have previous marriages or kids.

    Thanks for your reply

Good luck with your appointment, I hope you got good news.

DP and I only met 7 years ago so we started late in life trying for a family. No previous kids.

I have started my injection, last night first night. I'm on 45o iu gonal f.

I am trying to look at each stage as a positive step towards achieving our BFP.

Hey Trish & Tussy, just wanted to say hi. I started my first cycle of Ivf just a few days before you. Except I am only on 100mg of the injections each day - they wanted to do mild stimulation but sounds like that's really mild compared to normal? I am unexplained, 34 years old, married 5 years and trying for the last 4 years without success - took 2 years to get through the system to this point where we're finally doing something at last!

Good luck us!!! Stay in touch...

Had my scan on Monday, doc was very excited 10 follies so far need to do more injections egg pick up either frid or sat and transfer either the 7th or 8th. I need to call after 2 tomorrow to find out what option based on theatre availability. I am hoping for Friday so I have the weekend to recover too. Bit worried about the anesthetic as I dont go well with it. The gonal f injections will stop either on tue or wed depending what option they go with. Panicing about the real injections a bit have to
give ovidrel as trigger and pregnyl as support. My doc is going away so someone else is doing the procedure which is worrying me to.

    Hi ladies
Trishy, 10 follies is great, were they an okay size ? Mine grew around 2mm each day, which is standard I believe. I went back for a second scan two days after my first scan and they'd grown that much. My doc is also away (what clinic are you with) but I am sure it's fine, even though the EPU is the 'major' part of the process, it is still a relatively simple procedure. It's good you should have the weekend to rest up as well. Also, don't worry about the other injections - I had orgalutran and the needle was a big thicker than the stimming drug (puregon, same as gonal f), but it's over quickly ! Are you self-injecting ?

Saraz, good luck for EPU tomorrow ? How did you find the trigger injection ? I am doing mine in approx 1 hour !

We are all very close together, Saraz EPU Wed, me Thurs and Trishy Friday -- group hug ladies !!!

I have 20 follies, scan on Monday showed one @ 17mm, another couple at 15mm and then a few lower and the rest pretty small. They're a bit concerned about OHSS so I have to drink heaps and just look out for symptoms, hoping trigger doesn't bring it on more, as DH is away interstate for work tonight and tomorrow.

Hi guys dont worry the trigger injection was totally fine! Just held it really steady, not that different to all the other ones just looked scarier. Since then I've definitely felt a bit tender, I can't get my jeans on and even stockings were too tight today! - guess those 20 follicles taking up a bit of room now.

On monday's scan a few were over 20mm and the others down to 11mm - I read somewhere it's better if they're all the same size so a bit worried bout that. My lining was 7mm only on monday which sounds a little thin not that I'd know ?

I can't believe i am going in in the morning I just read a few horror stories about opu (that'll teach me to hang around on the internet!) but also found a few more tips such as keep your abdomen warm, keep eating 65g of protein per day, don't use any perfumed shampoo etc. This is all new to me!

Poor DH is a little worried about giving his sample - wants me to come & help, but at my clinic he does his bit after opu so I will be pretty groggy I guess!

good luck trishy & tussy, rest up.

okay here goes bring it on!!

Sara I am totally paranoid thanks to surfing the web all night too. Worried about OHSS like you wouldn't believe. The internet is fab but sometimes too much information.

You're right, trigger was fine, I was quite nervous though. Your follie size sounds great, my lining was a little under 7mm, so sounds like you're on track. I definitely feel really full but not uncomfortable, still aonther 36 hours to EPU though.

My DH is the same, but the clinics all have 'help' for the boys

    Good luck !!!!

I with Melb IVf Dr McBain.

My OPU is either Fri or Sat will find out this afternoon.

Dont know sizes he didnt tell me, but because I used Gonal F before with my ob I could see that some where really good sizes and some small ones. Hopefully they have grown with the extra few doses of GF.

He also didnt tell me about the lining other than saying nice and thin.

Goodluck ladies thinking of you both, its pretty cool how we are all close together.

    Dr Google is so bad.

I didnt know that about the protien or shampoo etc thanks for tip.

Do you go to alternative med as well. I see an naturopath and also have acupunture
