This was a stim cycle, yes? They obivoulsy feel your ovaries will produce enough progesterone without the crinone.
On my successful stim cycle I had some progesterone support in the luteal phase (pessaries) which I stopped after my BT. All was fine.
I had to take progesterone and other stuff for longer with my last cycle because that was an HRT cycle so all hormones were replaced until the placenta took over.
Anyway, it sounds fine and normal to stop. They'll be doing follow up blood tests I presume to ensure that your progesterone and other hormone levels are right. Some women need to take more or for longer, but usually not with this sort of cycle (as I understand it)
Cramping is very normal in early pregnancy, it can be quite painful and feel like your period is coming on. Let you clinic know if you have any worries and they should be able to reassure you.
Thanks minky
Marcellus you helped me put my heart at ease a little more with the crinone issue.
But ladies now I'm REALLY stressing... i took the hpt this morning that was given to me by the clinic and the positive line was a lot lighter than with the first response test i did 2 days ago. I realise it's probably a sensitivity issue but now i'm in panic mode. Are the clinic tests as sensitive as the ept you can get these days? if so then this is a very sad day for me I will get another pack of FR today and see what happens... any thoughts on this?
I'm just going to tell you what my ivf nurse told me. "It may not be perfect but there are many people who have these results and end up with a healthy baby".
In my case I had blood test hcg numbers that were consistently lower than expected and not rising as they would have liked - but bub turned out OK.
I also want to point out that all the hormones running around after a cycle, combined with crinone, make you loopy and less able to cope with stress - which is annoying because it is a stressful time.
Really make an effort to look after yourself over the next few weeks - exercise, eat well, see lots of your friends, and so on.
Good luck.
It was nice to hear good things from someone who stopped crinone early too, thanks grub17
Marcellus problem is the Westmead fertility centre don't do any blood work for progesterone levels or beta! I think that is so dodgy, but then again its quite cheap and it did the job (quality where it counts). So now I have to go and convince my gp to give me referrals for 2 betas to ensure levels are rising and to check progesterone so he can prescribe supplementation if needed. Jeez...
Hi ladies,
Just wanted to let you all know that I've had a successful 1st ivf cycle and am now 7 weeks preggers! It truly was and still is a shock to me.
Duo now I can safely say that all the concerns I raised in this thread originally were shut down by my
So anyone who may come across concerned about the same things I say... don't be! Xx
All the best everyone.
