Provera for AF to get started on HRT FET

    Hi Ladies

We are going back to do a HRT FET in December hopefully. I just have to wait for AF to arrive. I had dildo cam to see what was going on and there are no follies growing there. I was CD16 and I'm CD21 today. I have PCOS so that explains it and I'm not at all surprised lol. My question is seeing as I have to wait for AF to arrive before we can start can I use provera to help with the situation? I still have a bunch left from out first IVF TF over a year ago. I've never used it like that before only in my post TF support along with a bunch of others. My last cycle was 43 days so I know AF is away off yet IF I have another 43 day cycle.

My head is saying wait and see if AF comes by herself as it's not the end of the world to wait another month or so If we miss December. But my heart is saying quick what can we do to help AF come a long and get this show on the road lol.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm not too keen on going on the pill for the 14 days to bring her on as it took 2 weeks after stopping it for the witch to arrive and by the time I finish it for this FET it will be too late anyway.

I know, I'm being impatient lol.

Do you need to take provera for a HRT FET??

Cant they just put you on estrogen and progesterone to ensure your lining is good, etc and then do the FET??

I just did a FET (transfer today -cd21). The FS's (two as mine was away) couldn't see any follies. The second mentioned turning it into a HRT cycle by doing what I just mentioned (he said that last Friday) Turned out my follie was hiding and I ovulated on Monday...but there was no mention of provera

I went straight from my Stim Cycle onto an HRT FET without a bleed in between. Talk to your FS.

And that FET resulted in my DD - so there was obviously no harm from not having a period in between.

    Good luck,

    Hi Ladies

Nothing2lose - FX for your TF that it's a super sticky one for you. I wasn't prescribed provera for my HRT FET I just have a bottle in my cuppoard from my last TF. I was taking it and a whole lot of others including progynova as part of my meds in the TWW. Other than that I've never taken it before. I know that some are prescribed it to induce AF but I've never needed or used it because I was either on clomid or IVF or UTD.

Janie71 - My FS said it was too late to do anything now and to just wait for AF and start then. So there isn't any point in asking to do one now. I know of lots who have cycled without having a bleed. And I guess every FS has their own protocol. I'm not sure of his reasonings behind it but I do trust his judgment. After all he gave us DD2 so he must know something lol.

I used it earlier in the year after a chem pregnancy left me AF-less for months, it gave me a heavy period, then when I went to do a FET cycle, my lining wasn't great which I put down to the provera but thats just my guess ( cycle cancelled anyway cos they missed my O), I was sort of pleased I didn't do the cycle cos of the lining.

So, because of my experience if I were in your shoes I would wait ( I know its hard)

    Hi Saffy

The more I think about it the more I think your right. Who knows what will happen. I have copious amounts of EWCM ATM but this happened last cycle too and it was a 43 dayer.
