Don't be pushed into it by a pushy FS... You need to feel calm and ready in yourself and in your relationship, and confident in your FS, and have a chance to talk about it with your partner, now that you know what is causing your problems, and what the recommended treatment is. It's a good idea to just let it sink in a bit unless there is a desperate rush for some reason. I think it's really important for you both to come to terms, separately and together, with your own answers to the question of whether or not the baby is 'meant to be here' if it isn't conceived naturally.

Will your chance of conceiving reduce dramatically if you wait for 6 months? Is it just the cost that is making him want to start straight away? Will you be able to afford 3 cycles this year but only 2 next year or something? Are you seeing a reputable, well-established FS who has plenty of business?

I'm sorry if this wasn't the kind of support you were looking for, it just sounds like he's being really pushy, and you're not really ready to actually start yet. I can't imagine that another month or two, at least, will really matter.

Very wise words, thank you. Yes, I do feel rushed and need time to process it all. I can't imagine 6 months is going to make a whole world of difference . If I were to go down that path now I think it feel anxious and unsettled in my body. The FS does have a great rep etc i think he was just responding to me saying we can only afford one round and I am not willing to have a laparoscopy to check tubes etc

Feels better to just let this decision to settle in and not rush my body and mind.

Did your FS mention anything about your AMH/FSH levels?? That can be a reason to act sooner rather than later.

Is there a reason you don't want a lap? Sometimes they can clean the endo out and you don't need to go down the IVF route at all.
