Hoping you can help. DH and I have now bee TTC for 24 months. We have a had a few tests done and been told that he has 0 sperm...they dont know if it is because of a blockage or he litterally doesnt produce any.
We are off to see the FS on Tuesday and wondering what to expect? We go away a week after our appointment for 3 weeks holidays and when we get back we have a feeling that we will be ready to jump straight into it and get going.
How long do you normally have to wait to start? I dont know whether an IVF cycle starts on cycle day 1?
I don't know what to expect hun but just wanted to add oodles and oodles of support and Do you think they will do any further testing on dh's swimmers or have the done everything possible? Can they check to see if there is a blockage at all? Seems to me lime that will be the big thing they will be looking at, but like I said I don't really know The three week holiday sounds perfect, just what you need before jumping back into things I hope everything goes well and I'll be lurking you to see how you're going  xox
Sorry to hear you've had such a difficult time TTC but it's great you are on the way to getting help! During the first apt the Dr will ask about your medical history and family history. They will also probably want to talk about your cycle (bring a calender or dates for your periods if possible).
Yes generally an IVF cycle will start on Day 1. But before you can "get going" there will be a few tests neccessary and these can take a while. My DH has sperm issues and they needed to test for cystic fyboris genes and a few other gene things which took about 6 weeks to get results. You will also both need to get a blood test for HIV (standard policy for most clinics). You can probably ask FS for the paper work to get your bloods taken before you go away.
Sorry I was too late for your apt. How did you go? Are you going to go ahead with IVF with ICSI? (that's what we had to have - DHs swimmers were never going to make it on their own).
