I cant get my fear facer in the middle row either, so it has to the back row unfortunatly.. but i dont use dummies or bottles, so there isnt much I can do if bub was closer anyway, and was upset, except stop the car which is what I have always done.

Bub will have the 4 yr old next to him, so he'll be fine till I can get back there, I hope....

    I thought you baby-wore...

Yeah same here, no bottles etc. I do plan on trying a dummy this time round though as the others have all been so breast dependant when asleep they use me as a comforter while asleep & it was always hard to escape once asleep because as soon as the boob came out they woke up. So I thought stuff it, this time I am going to offer a dummy, I have too many little ones still to be stuck with my boob in the mouth of an otherwise sleeping baby LOL. Chances are he wont take it though LOL.

But even on the back row unless I give up my boot space I would have trouble getting everyone in as it would still be too far out to get around. hmmmm maybe I could just get a "smaller" capsule to try......

They certainly dont make many cars that accomodate lots of car seats!! Kids yes, but not car seats.. very annoying... I know I cant put the rear seat in the middle row, but I havent tried the back row yet, I assumed it will go... crap!! Bet it doesnt, and I'll have to shuffle again!!!

Is it a two sliding door van or one?

The compaq deluxe is very highly rated as a rear facing comvertible and is as it's name says one the most compact size wise for fitting in lots of seats together....maybe you go try a few out at the local babystore just for size....you ar not committted to buy from them...try them out, see what you like and then have a look online for the best deals...thats what I do. baby bunting down here has the best range of stuff so I go and look and try then I find out who has the cheapest price online.....it is never baby bunting!

The Compaq is highly rated but the Compaq Deluxe does not rate as well in the CREP testing I just looked at (Melbel posted the link on the previous page, thanks!). Does anyone know why the difference in safety rating?? I would have thought they would rate the same...

Does anyone know why the Unity Capsule has rated so poorly? When I did research last year it rated very highly! Panicking now... it would seem I have Miss P in the least safe capsule when I thought she was in the safest! I will buy a new seat if necessary but I am utterly confused now and don't know what to buy??!!

Its hard isn't it. I am going to go play with my seats again once I know the kids have settled in properly for the night. Its driving me nuts.

From what I have been able to find out, the testing methods and standards have changed and the unity, possibly because it is an older design to some of the others (like the peg perego etc) didn't perform as well to the new standards...something about higher testing standards for side impact or something like that.
