I would go short if I had the courage
Mine is long too (past my waist) and it is always in a pony tail...I hardly ever wear it down.
I understand your want for change...I am probably not much help though.
You really need something easy to do...I know with my lot I don't have more than 5 min in the morning to do my hair.
I someone can help you with more suggestions...I will be interested to read.
