My sister is expecting her 8th. Absolutely no shame in it at all!
I am the middle of seven, and while I wont say it is always the case, I have found my family is far closer than many "smaller" families. Both my DH and my BIL love our familiy because it is that - and theirs was/is not. Large families used to be the norm. Many grandparents talk about being X of 9 and Y of 12. People have just become snobby!
We are doubly blessed, and I wouldn't change it for the world! Anytime anyone ever said something to me, I always tell them "Well, you pick which ones I should have killed". Usually shuts them up.
Welcome Mumee and you picked the right forum to come too lol. I have 5 and am constantly asked "are we done yet?" People can be so rude when you don't make the same choices they do.
The look on peoples' faces can be priceless when they realise all the children are mine lol.
Just enjoy the pregnancy and tell others to sod off when they have negative comments to make. It's your life to live.
Congrats on ur lucky 8th pregnancy hope it goes well for u. I say if u can afford more then 2 children then i say go for it. also on finding out ur having a boy

Welcome to bb, i have found that there are more families on here that have 5 or more children than i have ever met, lol.
I am a mum of 5 and are ttc beautiful bundle number 6 atm, i am aiming for 8, lol.
and i can completely understand how u feel in regards to peoples negativity, just today at my daughters dance class when i was saying to a mum that we are ttc again, i got a laugh from her and the recceptionist, then i got they omg why would u do that, u are crazy, etc...
I usually just fob it off but the mum is a close friend of ours, grrr, lol
anyway, there are a lot of wonderful and helpful people here.

I only have 3 kids, but I linger on the 'larger families' threads because I would like to have another child. I think you are all amazing.
It annoys me that people cannot keep their rude and unhelpful comments to themselves. Do they say negative things in front of your kids? That would REALLY annoy me.
The over-population 'argument' is simplistic. For example, a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) who have 2 petrol-guzzling cars, fly overseas twice a year, eat steak 5 times a week, have 3 TV's, etc. can easily consume more resources that a much larger family who live a 'greener' and simpler (but fun!) life.
(please, no offence intended if you are a larger family who fits the description of the small family above! I am just trying to demonstrate a point).
