Wow i know its been a couple of days since i posted and look we have anew thread!
I have never been first before Hehe.
Anyway we have been very busy here , we had sports day yesterday for the primary school and that was a fantastic day. We even came home with some ribbons so everybody was full of excitement in our house last night.
Then my two oldest DD came home this arv with 2 more ribbons, high jusmp didn't get finished yesterday at primary school so we got a 4th there, and DD in High school got a 2nd in high jump. So she will be off o zone now. Plus DD in year 2 got a 1st in her race so she off to zone as well. DDin prep got a 4th for her race, so they all have a ribbon and are all happy little vegies. Of course there is a very proud Mum and Dad here too.

Hi to everybody i hope we are all doing really well. Hehe on filling the car seats, we have a Delica (8 seater) and we get asked if there are any spare and we No, so everyone just tells us to get a second one as we are sure to have more!!!!!!!!

    Hi there all

I was wondering what type of activities you all do with your kids. I know it gets expensive doing things with them all and we must all feel like taxis drivers!! I have a fairly full week with Kids sports - free run by the council on Mondays. Tuesdsays is music lessons, Wednesday swimming lessons, Thursdays is Brigades and Friday is more swimming lessons and an after school club. My kids are still youngish so would like to hear on what your kids are doing.

Well, it looks like we have more people in here now.
I'm Jess mother of 6 beautiful children and we live up in the North East of Victoria surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of grape vines.
Sports...well my kids aren't really sporty kids but they are all very active.
The only activities my kids are involved in are the after school activities that the school puts on twice a week. This term those activities are Basketball on Tuesdays and Dancing on Wednesdays.
As for cars...people have stopped asking us when we are going to have more kids because we drive a Tarago(8 Seater)...there aren't any seats left for anymore kids

Yeah kittykat it was a great effort and they had fun which is the main thing. We have high school sports days next week so we will see what goes on up there, DS 16 is great at long distance but its a case of whether he chooses to WASTE his energy (his words) and DD 13 has got her high jump ribbon and thats her best event but she will no doubt do all the othr events jsut the same.
As for what our kids do, They used to all do classical and jazz ballet including son, but the costumes for concerts got too expensive (like $75 minimum per costume) and when you have 5 kids doing it that soon ads up with all the other costs for it. So DS16 doesn't do a sport now as he is working part time, DD 13 was doing swimming but wants to start soccer ( which DH and I don't really want ) so we will see what happens there. All the others do swimming at the moment. It can cost a lot to put them in different sports, we are now looking at sending them to little athletics as that is about to start up, they are all excited about it but hopefully its not too expensive as they will all continue with swimming too.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, my DH is working all weekend so i am playing taxi for birthday parties and for DS work plus have to try and get some housework done !!! Hopefully i shall get a big burst of energy very shortly

Hi there again, I know what you mean about costs of things for the kids. I looked into dancing for my girls but was blown away by the prices, etc. My music teacher is good and does 2 kids for one price!! Same with the swim school - we get a god discount for having all 6 kids enrolled. We try to do as much where a few can do the same thing rather than each one going somewhere different. A friend of mine fron NZ has 8 kids and she lets each child do one activity each year but she still runs around like a mad chook! Its hard sometimes because you don't wanna have your kids miss out just because there lots of them but you can't do everything!!! Keep up the good work.

Hi there , while I was at Kids Sport yesterday I watched a mum walking around the field while her kids were playing. She must have walked around at least 6 times. Good on her and shame on me!! I did feel guilty...maybe next week I will join her. I used to walk in the mornings before my hubby went to work but he starts at 5am now so too dark! The end of the day is hopeless too busy and when the kids are all finally down I am usually not too far behind them! Its funny though my man loves to have me trim but can't wait till I'm pregnant again! Work that out!!!

Im not sure weather anyone else feels this way but last sunday night i had what i call it a complete melt down emotional and mental i had it out with DH not fighting but told him things i have been feeling for quite sometime i can t remember when i cried so much i told him i could no longer keep this up the house kids work ect with little or no support any more he says he helps but i have to tell him what needs to be done and when to do it does any one else feel this way? like you have a extra kid to take care of we are really two different people he laid back quiet basicly you need to light a fire up his butt to get a conversation and with me im out there chatty asertive somdays there are too many differences. Well since then we had his bday the kids and i decorated the house made a cake roast dinner well captin excitment made little response i had to tell him to thank the girls and act a little more happy he's quiet thats the way he is i dont like any more to think i have to help encouage him to have fun with the kidson his bday when they were so excited for him and went to so much trouble it makes me angry then his friend rang to wish him a happy bday he must of asked if he was to get lucky his response i ll have to go to the pub to get her ( me ) a drink then maybe nice hey so i drank it and went to be stuff him and yesterday was our anniversary not much went on i went to alot of trouble with little response again them had a early night the differences are gettin g to much or maybe it s no sleep

Yo Kittykat - things sound a bit rough there. maybe you guys need a neutrel friend to talk things over with. Live is crazy with kids and hubby but I try to remember that marriage is longer term than kids. The kids will leave home in a few years and then you are stuck with just you and you DH for another 30 years or so alone!!! If my marriage is good everything else usually falls in place. Me and my hubby still have weekly date nights! Usually its something simple like putting the kids to bed early then hiring a dvd and eating cheescake!! Every now and then we get a babysitter and go out. It makes a week easier to cope with knowing that I have Tuesday night date night to look forward to. I hope this helps and I'll pray for you.

Hi all, I'm new here, it's good to find somewhere for large families. Does anyone else get funny looks at the shops with all the kids as hubby and friends think I'm paranoid. Mum of four aged 9, 7,4 and 4mths.

Hi everyone, it has been a few days since i have been on, not alot going on in here i see!

Welcome hollymaedream, YEP we get funny looks but i don't care none, I am proud of our big family so they can look as much as they like!
I don't think you are paranoid, but don't let their looks get to you either!

Well swimming is starting up again here as of tomorrow so i shall start living at the pool (lol)
Then we still have to look at the costs of the kids doing little athletics which starts at the end of this month,. It would be great to put them in this as well as they can do so many activities with that, but swimming will cost us $70 per week so we will see.

Anyway i hope everyone had a great weekend mine was busy busy busy! But hey you get that!

    Cheers

Hey jess i so remeber those days!!! My older five use to do classical and jazz ( my DS stopped jazz after a couple of years) and the weekends with concert rehearsals and assessments were soooooo long and exhausting ( i used to do the adults class as well) so we were there from start to finish with me running kids home and picking others up!!! I truly feel for you ! I am so glad that we don't do the ballet now! Mind you in saying that i am now at swimming every week day , i guess when you have a biggish family and there are a few of them doing the one thing you are going to be there a while!!!!
The 3 older girls were back at swimming today after having a few weeks off, and they worked pretty hard, so it will be interesting to see who still wants to go tomorrow afternoon.

Speaking of which i have a full on day tomorrow, have school newsletters after lunch, then helping in prep, then walking the girls plus a friends daughter up to swimming, while they there have to take son to work (25 mim drive) then back to get teh girls and then have to pick eldest DD up froma school excursion after 7pm and then pick up DS at 9pm!!!! I think i will be a very tired girl by tomorrow evening

Chat again soon, take care all
