Cathie that sounds horrible. A great big OUCH for being stuck under the pubic bone. I hope you follow up with your complaint as some midwives just get so complacent with their job and think you know nothing. I know we are not having any more after this one as 1. both DF and I are getting to old lol and 2. I don't think the body can take any more.
We did have a lovely xmas and the kids enjoyed themselves immensely. Hope yours was good and that you weren't in to much pain. Huge hugs hun. Hope you feel better soon xxx

Happy New Year everyone !!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year to you too.

Hi everyone, how are you all doing???
Cathie how is it going with Charlie?? Hope you are both doing ok and you are getting enough sleep and lots of newborn snuggles.
I am 24 weeks today :o I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Frogglette has been very active and loves to kick the crap out of me. I have another midwife appointment on the 1/2 then have to attend some VBAC info sessions and then I will get stuck in and write my birth plan. I should be coming up for fortnightly visits after all that.
Well my DD1 wrote a letter to her dad re his new wife and how unwelcome she now feels at his house so he is making the effort to see her without the missus and is just spending time with her and him. They met for coffee this week and I hope he keeps it up. The stepmum is being a real biartch to DD1 and I think it is just because she doesn't like sharing him with another female, even if it is his daughter (well step daughter) If she tries this on the boys then she will have me to deal with. The mind games are terrible on the kids.
Hoping everyone in QLD, VIC and upper NSW who are flood affected are ok. Huge hugs to all

Thought I would stick my nose in here - it has been a while!!!
No big news here apart from the fact i am expecting number 9!!!!!
Due in June/July.

Cathie - how you going luv?? Is Charlie being a good boy for you? I hope you are feeling better too and the pain is going away xxx

Welcome RainbowBrite. Another one with a big family is good to see. Hope you enjoy yourself here on BB

Hello everyone, my family is so big but I would love to have more ( not that I can see that happening ) I had my 4th in DEC and he is just beautiful and I love him to pieces already, cant believe how well he is fitting in, the older winkies just love him to bits and my fear that they wouldnt leave him alone has been unfounded, they love to just look at him and give him lots of kisses and cuddles, 4 days after giving birth my DH came and told me he wanted to seperate, it wasnt a huge suprise but still hard to deal with even if he has been away since oct, so he is now back in QLD and I am in VIC with the winkies, looking for a new cheaper house to rent ( not easy as no one wants to rent to someone with 4 kids ) but fingers crossed something comes up very soon as I dont want to have to keep paying rent in this house as it is going to get too small very soon...
So its been a very stressful month so far, just hoping once I have a house and settled in I can start enjoying life again...
Has anyone else been in the same situation, been single with 4 kids, I am terified I will be alone for the rest of my life and I am only 31...
I try to look on the bright side I might one day find a crazy guy willing to be with a pre-made family... who knows I might even get to have a few more winkies....
-
Welcome GTF. I'm sorry to hear DH has decided to leave. It can be done as a single parent. I have been a single parent of 3 and then met a lovely man (through a web dating site  ) but we now have 2 with another on the way. I didn't have to find another house though as I got a mortgage with the divorce lol. We have now bought our own house together and it is so much bigger (we now need it :) ) I was older than you when DH and I broke up so chin up lovely and I'm sure it will work out. We are here if you need to chat about anything xxx
-
Thanks Kim, good to know there is hope for me yet, I guess I just cant imagin any man wanting to take on 4 winkies that arent his, seeing as it was enough to scare off their own father...
I am one of 7 and have to say I love been from a big family, getting a bit busy now when we all get together as we are all having our kidlets but its so nice to know that the cousins will all grow up together...
-
Hi Green Tree Frog :D
I had 4 kids when I split with my 1st husband.
It was hard at times but we got through together.
I meet a man a couple of years later we went on get married and have three of our own.
Unfortunately I am now going through another marriage break up and am now a single mother of 7.
Because my 1st husband passed 4 months ago I have sole custody of the older 4 and my 2nd husband is just having our 2 older girls once a week.
-
Hi
Welcome newbies and Congrats Halltribe, you go girl.
hey kim how are you? All is well my way Charlie is the best baby around town he sleeps all night up to 8 hours and he did this from the time we came home from hospital. How are you feeling?
Rain - what car do you have to fit 7 kids in ?
cathie xx
-
Cathie I don't at the moment.
I have a Mitsibishi Pajero which fits 7...me and 6 kids.
Before I split with my DH we would take two cars.
The older 2 catch the bus to school and the younger two walk.
I really need to upgrade...not sure how I can do that on my own now.
-
Hey Rainbow,
Just asking as I would love another child and My Hubby's excuse is we need to buy a bigger car.
Cathie
-
pmsl Cathie you just had Charlie and your talking about another one :o I have an 8 seater tarago but when miss Frogglette comes all the seats will be taken. You will need a bigger bus lol maybe a 12 seater and then you can fill em up lol. I'm very jealous that Charlie sleeps all night. My youngest 2 still don't sleep all night and with this one on the way my sleep will be non existant boo hoo. I am feeling huge atm and sooooooo hot. This weather is really getting me down. I can't stand the heat at the best of times never mind while pregnant. Glad you are feeling better too.
How is everyone doing???? Take care all and chat soon
-
Hello everyone,
Do you mind if I join in here? I am expecting number 4 in Oct, so I guess I have one of the smaller families here (which is a nice change). I am one of six kids myself and always felt that I would have a larger family. The funny thing is it doesn't even seem large at all to me, it is more just everyone else's perception.
We are upgrading our car before the next bub comes along, and are going to get a grand carnival (8seater) - which gives us a bit of extra room for friends, and perhaps another kids or two down the track. I feel like 5 is the 'right' number for us, I just have to work on convincing DH of that (which I am slowly). :D
-
Welcome Misty. I'm sure you will get to laugh along with us at some of the stuff we get up to :)
Hi to everyone else and belly rubs to us that are UTD
-
Welcome Misty.
hahahahah yeah Kim I'm talking about having another, he is so beautiful and such a good baby. How are you?
Hi to everyone else.

I'm doing ok Cathie. I have been diagnosed with GD but am in the early stages so not sure what is happening yet. I have to chart for 2 weeks and then I go back and see the dietician, the midwife and the endocrinologist (next Wednesday actually) Will keep you informed. I haven't put on much weight so far - only 3.5 kg so i'm very happy about that. My belly looks like I have swallowed a watermelon though lol :) You'll be catching up to halltribe soon lol she is pg with her 9th. My suggestion about the 12 seater bus may come in handy pmsl.
I have been looking at upgrading the tarago to one that has a door on either side but when I've read the reviews they say the newer models are smaller on the inside and in the boot area :( I like the space we have now so I may have to look at something else. My eldest DD is 16 on Saturday :o I'm so in denial about that lol. I don't feel anywhere old enough to have a DD that age. My mirror must be a magic mirror lol.
What is everyone else up to????
Take care all
-
Hi ladies.
Kim - My eldest is 15 this year, where have the years gone to. My little Lily started school this year and she was crying everyday not wanting to go until I let her catch the bus home with her brother and now she wants to go everyday KIDS. Twins are well gee they are sooo cute, they are sooo much fun I have been blessed. Charlie boy is the best baby around town I will send you some off his wonderful baby vibes so you also have the best baby around town. GD I was just off having this I think 7.5 is GD I was 7.4 maybe that's why Charlie was such a huge baby. Hope all is well.
Hi everyone else :hello:
cathie
-
Cathie - I would love some of your "best baby vibes" lol. I need to have one baby that sleeps well. We still have the 4yo and the 2yo getting into bed with us every night :o Means not a lot of sleep for us as they are very restless. DD1 had a good day for her birthday and she got her nose and belly button pierced (ouch) but she is happy with it and I guess it was better than what she originally wanted (lip, eyebrow and tongue). Her dad took her out for dinner and her stepmum was even there and didn't say anything nasty - I wonder if she was warned off by exH lol. In regards to the GD I have been started on a long lasting insulin at night time only. My pre breakfast levels were too high for them so we are trying this before anything else. My other levels are good.
Meara goes into hospital on Tuesday to have her pump fitted. We have to stay in there for a few days (not looking forward to that) to make sure that her levels are ok and that they have calibrated it correctly. Not happy about sleeping on those beds at over 30 weeks preggers :( DF's bestie is moving out today (finally). I had to ask him for rent as we are really struggling with huge bills (that he contributed to but hasn't paid anything towards) and he has decided to leave here and not pay rent but to live in his car :o Arseh#le. DF is really upset with him. We have let him stay here rent free now for 4 months and then he does this. He has had a job since before xmas and I have been waiting for him to offer us some form of rent but I guess I can go whistle now. I've told DF he not to come back here to live ever again and DF agreed. It has hurt him worse as they have been friends now for 30 years and for his bestie to disrespect him like that :shakeshead: Oh well what's done is done.
Hi everyone else. Pop in and give us some more goss lol. Hope you are all well
-
Hi ladies!
My DF and I have 4 kids between us - he has 2 from his previous marriage (1 of whom lives with us, the other comes fortnightly for the weekend), I have 1 from my previous marriage and we have 1 together... We plan on having another in around 2ish years!
My mum lives with us as she has a lot of health problems...
We are trying to buy a bigger car at the moment but they are Soooooo expensive!
Anyway, hope to get to know you all!
-
Hi Ladies, I'd also like to join if I may?
I'm feeling slightly worried about coping with 4......excited but nervous so I'm sure I'll have millions of questions!! I am a little slack on BB these days but I will do my best, I think I need your wisdom ;)

Welcome Berry Sweet and becstar. You will find lots of support in here for larger families. Ask anything you like and we will answer honestly lol just be prepared (evil chuckle)

Right at this very moment, the silence is BLISS. This is me time when the kids are all in bed and I can actually sit down and watch a bit of tv, unwind before I go to bed.
Regards,
Dianne

Yes Dianne I understand what your saying, I just love it when all the kids are in bed and I can sit and relax for a few Minutes hahahah
cathie
-
hello all, and thankyou for a lovely welcome :)
Of course the big question for me is.....how do you do it??!!
I struggle to manage three little bodies at the moment, I don't know how I'm going to do 4 and be sleep deprived at the same time!!
-
Does anyone have trouble with just one child who everyone else has to make allowances for?
DD is a real handful and if she is having a bad day then its like we all have to tread carefully so not to upset her and set off tantrums. not to say we let her get away with things but take the tv for example. If she is foul I will put Dora on for her and she will at least have a rest which she so badly needs and look out if the boys want to watch something. Its just easier to leave Dora on so she doesn't start screaming. i know its giving in to a certain degree but I feel bad for the boys and sometimes it is even something as simple as letting her choose a seat at the table even though one of the boys wanted to sit there kwim?
-
I know we do this with DS2. I often feel bad about it too. Then again most of the time the kids understand and are happy to, just so they not have to listen to the tantrum too!
-
Our household is exactly the same. DD3 rules what is watched on tv and that is Disney Chanel. The older kids have now learnt how to distract her so that they can change the chanel, it lasts for about 15min then the squeeling begins and they have to change it back.
Regards,
Dianne

Hello :hello:
Becstar - hey I have 6 kids 15DS, 10DS, 6DD, 2DS, 2DD, 10weeksDS. I just take each day as it comes we have our good days and our Bad, but I have found since the 6 year old has started school the twins are soooo much better.
Aussienic - It was the same in our house with the 6 year old until I decided no MORE, she was not sleeping, Not listening, fighting with the other kids. I decided to start giving her one to one as often as I could she found it really hard when the twins came along. I would praise her when she was doing the right thing and when she was not I would give her time out. We still have our good days with her and our bad, Lily has been soo much better since she has started school.

Hi all,
My name is racheal and I am expecting bubba #4 in September. I have 2 year old twin boys and a 1 year old boy. I am looking forward to another bundle of joy but am hating being pregnant this time round! So exhausting with three little ones! Some days I feel way in over my head but then others I feel so proud and full if love for my family. Would love to hear all your family sizes and age gaps between your kids. And what is the best piece of advice you can pass on
Looking forward to keeping up with this thread!
Racheal

I am so glad others do the same as us.. Olivia is getting better since we brought in the traffic light system.. I don't think we have even had a tantrum at bedtime since Saturday :)
She didn't even end up on the yellow or red lights today so very proud of her and told her so..
Hi Racheal :) Congrats on bub 4.
My age gaps are 4 and a bit years then pretty much 2 years for the next 3.. lol.. Ds1 was just over 4 when we had DS2 and he was 23 months when we had DS3 and he was 25 months when DD came along..
and to think we almost stopped at 1 because getting pg again just didn't seem to happen. I actually said to my DH lets just have the 1 and focus all our attention on him :) little did I know I was already pg with DS2  We thought it would take just as long again so started trying straight away afetr he was born.
-
Hi Racheal welcome baby 4 Yay Congrates My twins are 2.
Hey Kim what are you up too Love?

Sorry guys have been in the hospital with DD3 as she got her insulin pump fitted on Tuesday. We got home at dinner time today so had some yucky days at the hossie.
Hi to all the new comers. Yes Cathie and I would love some new people to talk to lol.
Sorry will come back on tomorrow and give more answers but am so tired right now. No sleep to speak of for 3 nights will knock it out of even the best of people.
-
 Kim, I hope you get some rest, you are amazing.
Regards,
Dianne

Oh my goodness! My DD1 is 16 next Saturday...where did my baby go?????
I get so exhausted with all 7 on my own...my XDH has our two girls 1 night a week and then has our little man the next night...so other than that it is all me.
Nic I am glad the traffic light is working...I think it is something I will try on my two little DD's.
Kim staying in hospital with your LO is just exhausting...I have done it many times too.
I am glad you are home and hope all went well and your DD is ok.
Hi Rachel...welcome sounds like you are busy :D
Congrats on bub #4...I hope all goes smoothly.
I have 7 children...dd1 - 16, ds1 - 14, ds2 - 10, ds3 - 8, dd2 - 3, dd3 - 2 and ds4 - 1.
I have close and far age gaps..my closest are my last three. 11mths between dd2 and dd3 and 13mths between dd3 and ds4...so 24 mths between the three...so I kind of understand how busy you are!
