3 month stay at a Caravan Park, how do I go about organising this? Is it do-able?

Ok so DH and I have wanted to move to Cairns for along time now, I think it will be hard for him to find a job up there whilst we are still living down in Melbourne and therefore will be hard to find a rental up there if he doesn't have a job to go to. So I am playing with the idea of maybe staying at a caravan park for about 3 months. I have no idea how this works, if they even offer this length of stay or anything really.

I was hoping someone might have a little insight?

My cousin did that for a few months and it ended up being quite expensive. Could you look for something small with a short term lease?

they have small apartments up here that they lease short term out around clifton beach palm cove area

My rellies have done this, they live in a caravan park full time in Cairns. They didn't find it too expensive, although they did have their own caravan, which I guess helps. You might like to stay in one designed for longer term, rather than holidays, because holiday makers tend to be roudier LOL and its annoying having people move in and out all the time. HTH.

In about 2001, me & my then-boyfriend wanted to move out of home for the first time, and my parents wanted me to stay in a caravan park instead of signing a lease for a house or unit just in case we couldn't afford it or we fought or whatever. So, being a good little girl, I looked into it and actually worked out that it was cheaper to rent an apartment than it was to rent a caravan!

Maybe if you apply for a few rental properties and explain that you're moving to up there and show that your partner has a solid work history, etc, and maybe enough money in the bank to live off for the next few months until he finds a job, they might be willing to give you guys a shot? I've never really been in that situation, though, so probably not a great deal of help - but I have often toyed with the idea of moving from Melbourne to Brisbane, so do let us know how you go!

hmm i guess you could ring around a few and ask? i guess if they know you plan to stay long term, they be able to work out a deal or something...
