Unhappy 4th day after transfer - HPT negative

    Hi Everyone,
I had my transfer on Sunday morning, the only drugs i am on are crinnone and progynova. I know i shouldnt have but i just did a HPT this morning (wednesday) just becasue i was curiuos -and it was negative.
Is it too early to test? i told myself before i did it that i wouldnt think anything else of it because of the drugs and its really only been "in me" for 3 days, but i am feeling quite upset and disheartened. I just wanted to know if there is any way this could be a false reading?
    Thank you

    Absolutely too early!

If you had a day 2/3 embryo transferred, that embryo would really only just be starting to implant now.

With a blastocyst, implantation may have happened, but blastocyst embryos are noted for giving low initial HCG levels.

I'd be giving it a few more days and waiting until the day before your blood test if you really want to POAS. Good luck!

If your pregnant it wouldn't show up yet. I think with IVF it can take 2-4days for the emby to implant so it could only just be attaching now. I think it would be another 2-3days at the earliest that it would show. Best of luck. I hope your emby is going strong and finding itself a place to settle for the next 9months.

Hi Eve - Well done on PUPO!..hope that little embie grows big & strong I think you may be testing a little too early. It really is a wait and see. Test perhaps 10 days past EPU date. As I say this, i personally can't get myself to do HPT's and for the same reason - I would stress myself out & be depressed if it was negative. I'm on the ...rather not know till the BT day.
If you have a 5 day Blast transfered than it can implant within 1-3 days but even then I think it is way too early for testing for the hcg hormone. With a 2-3 day transfer it can take 6 days+ to implant. I wouldn't test unless you really want to till 10days past EPU..even then some girls get a negative then get a positive on day 12..everyone & every BODY is so different.

don't get too disheartened - lots of time yet for things to happen - just enjoy the feeling and send it lots of love. I had a healer once say to me 'start talking to your womb!' well I have been and no ones listening..yet!!
take care -best of luck x

It is way too early to test. It's a horrible wait, but you're just going to have to hold off until the day of your blood test, or the day before.

yeah i know, but its such a long anxious wait - and i feel worried because we only got 1 embryo that made it to transfer. I am trying to keep positive but in the back of my mind i know that if it doesnt work, then we have to do the whole IVF process again.

Yep too early hun! I know the wait is killing you - the TWW is cruel torture. IVF has so many steps and when you get close to the end you just want a magic answer NOW!!!! At least that is how I was
I am really hoping this is the one for you and try to stay positive it is definately not over yet!

Aww hun, the wait is the hardest part of all isn't it? We just finished a Stim cycle with a 5 day transfer. It was successful and I'm just over 5 weeks along now. I didn't start getting positives until around 10DPO which is 5 days past the Transfer. And even those were faint as faint can be - even hubby couldn't see them, but I swore I wasn't going mad! Lol....

I didn't get a clear faint line until around 7 days after the transfer at least....So don't give up hope yet, just watch for that line to darken

    All the best.

The 2ww is always the hardest and totally does your head in with what symptoms are real and what are from the drugs you are taking.

From experience with 5 day blastocyte transfers on hrt fet I have never got a bfp before day 7 and I've been told it can even be negative on hpt until around day 10/11 when the hcg levels are high enough for the hpt to detect. So don't lose heart just yet, stay positive and try again closer to your b/t date.

    Good luck

    Thanks everyone
My blood test isnt till the 23rd of december, and it is really doing my head in now, i dont know what "sympotms" to be feeling if i am pregnant (i might post this as another question) or whats supposed to happen now.
By the comments everyone has posted, it was way too early to do the HPT yesterday so i feel alot better knowing that and now i am too scared to do another one in a couple of days just in case it is negative. As hard as it is I am going to wait till the 23rd to find out. This is the hardest part of the IVF i think, its just hard to keep positive. i know the long waits will be worth it in the end...for all of us

We tested a few days after ET because Sal had pregnancy symptoms and it came back as as but then after the blood test after two weeks we came back with a

so you can definitely test too early. Your body only starts to produce HcG ( which the home pregnancy tests detect )after the baby implants, which can be anything up to 7 days after transfer and only in tiny amounts to start with.
Hard hard hard two week wait.......
