Amazing things can happen - my story could be you next!

hi there all of you on this hard IVF journey. I have wanted to post for some time as I know first hand how hard emotionally and physically it is to be on IVF. My first born, no problems. 2nd? ahh...it all began with trying and trying and finally going to the IVF road - 3.5 years of disappointments, so many tears, marriage was strained, but finally hope that turned into a little bub 16 months ago - a sibling for my first. That was it I thought ' I am so happy'

Then I started to feel no right when bub was about 8 months old. Thought I had chronic fatigue or gluten intolerence............but I was pregnant !!! what, no way!! but yes, a total accident.........and I am 40 years of age!! Now I am 38 weeks pregnant with our 3rd child. just amazing as we NEVER thought we would even be able to have 2 children, let alone 3.

I just wanted to provide hope to you all - and sometimes we will just NEVER know why these things happen or don't happen - there are many myths about what might work and some truths too - in the end you have to lead a lifestyle you know is balanced for you.........I am a competitive athlete and have ran throughout all 3 pregnancies - right up until the end - and did not change this when on IVF either, otherwise I would go insane!

I sincerely wish the best for all of you on your journeys. allow it to make you stronger and appreciate the little things everyday that make us human.

.... such an inspiring story runnermum

i'm a firm believer that Doc's certainly don't have all the answers or maybe not the right ones for all as i was clearly told i wouldn't have a child unless i took the IVF path purely based on my age ... my Gyno told me i had no options left but IVF ... Well i took a different path altogether which involved taking a herbal formula which i took for 8mths until i finally fell pregnant (by then it had been a 2.5year TTC journey) ... i gave birth to my first child at 40 a drug-free birth i might add even though the OB's looked at me being old at 40 to have a baby and they were expecting all these complications well i showed them being in your 40's isn't impossible !!

I am so happy to provide inspiration - I know I needed it so much when I was on this journey. Yes, women in their 40s are amazing. I am due in 10 days with my 3rd. CAnnot believe it. biggest issue now is how to organise 2 bubs under 2 and another with special needs....but really, 2.5 years ago, I did not think these would be my kind of 'issues'.....

runnermum - thank you for sharing your story. It's so true that even in the depths of our sadness during LTTTC stories of wonderful successes can really be inspiring and uplifting.

I'm sure you are very busy since the birth of your new bub, but if you have the chance, can you please post in the Success Stories thread ( here)

    Congratulations
