is the safety net the only reason for such a huge increase? Also, although I understand the issue (they didn't introduce the safety net just to benefit OBs etc), there must be a better solution than eliminating the safety net for these important services or means testing it.
it seems to have coincided with the introduction of the safety net and baby bonus. so as much as i'm not SURE it was related, i have a very strong inkling kwim???


i do agree that removal of the safety net isn't the answer (fees aren't going to drop now) - they need to regulate further increases to make sure they are within reason for increase to costs etc
