I've had to drop outta the 2ww thread cos I don't think I belong in there anymore, but we're a bit all over the place so any advice is appreciated.
In a nutshell - ET on Wed 5th Aug
1st clinic BT 19th Aug - hCG 60 (they wanted 80-100)
progesterone 'very high' no figure given
2nd clinic BT 22nd Aug -hCG 90
progest. slight drop, still very high
Was told to make a 6week scan for 6th Sep but couldn't wait doing nothing. Have been sooooo tired since the 20th roughly, sore boobs on and off.
3rd BT 25th Aug -hCG 140
progesterone 370 which according to the charts provided by the BT testing folk I'm seriously lagging in hCG but my body is producing as much progesterone as someone in their 3rd trimester - hence why I'm so dam tired.
Can anyone tell me has this happened to them?? What is causing my body to produce so much progesterone?? It's such a shame that my body is going above and beyond to protect this little thing, which doesn't look too healthy.
I've had no spotting either. Thank you in advance for any answers, and sorry for long post.
Airline - I don't have an answer for you, but I hope you get one soon...the waiting and repeat BTs really do a number on your mind. I too have twice had solid progesterone numbers with not so great HCG numbers (low and not doubling as they should) - I phrased it as my body just didn't want to let go...no one ever told me why this happens. I hope that your ending is different than mine and you get some good news...they probably won't tell you anything definitive until they do a scan and even then they may want to do multiple scans.
buliej, thank you for your response. It's nice to know someone else had this happen to them. I just wonder how long my body will take to 'give up'. There are so many curve balls thrown in this fertility lark.
Also just want to you on all the info. you gave on the thread re. the gov'ments plans for changing Medicare rebates etc. It was invaluable, and you were the lynchpin in that thread. Just a shame that it's gonna happen.
Thanks Airline...I'm hoping that it's not over with Medicare stuff - it sounds like there may be a big fight ahead...
Assuming you learn that your pregnancy does not continue (and I hope for you that this is not the case), you have the choice of having a D&C if you decide waiting is not for you. There are pros & cons with a D&C - for me, the benefits outweigh the negatives, but this is a very individual decision. It's too early to start listing both sides for you as it may not be relevant...
thanks redlady, I believe so. Still waiting for scan on Thursday...this fortnight has been worse (if that's possible) than the 2ww. anyway, now i'm worrying about poss d&c....
airline - you are absolutely right - the wait after the BFP when there is a question as to whether the pregnancy is viable is worse than the TWW...(IMO it doesn't even compare as you expect to be waiting during the TWW whereas you aren't prepared for the anxiety that comes after a BFP if they discover something isn't going as perfectly as it should...and it's also hard to digest when it comes right after you think you made it over the biggest hurdle - getting that BFP.)
