    Default Infertility Study (Monash University)

    I'd like to introduce myself.

My name's Deirdre Page and I'm a 4th year psychology student at Monash University.

Through my own experience with infertility I have decided to focus my 4th year thesis on this topic - some may remember that I use to be a member of this board almost 2 years ago!

    Details of the study:

Support for the Infertile Couple - Study

Infertility is not only a medical issue it is also a social one.

The support a couple receives from within their relationship in addition
to support from close family, and friends can influence how well that
couple copes with their infertility. In some cases a lack of support has
been linked to feelings and experiences of social isolation.

This study aims to investigate how couples support one another by
assessing the quality of their marital relationship, how they cope with
stressful events, as well as looking at the significant role family and
friends play by measuring the couples perceived social support.

If you are interested in participating in this study please click on the
following link and follow the instructions:

Infertility, the marital relationship and social support: the combination affect on infertile couples

    Kind Regards,
    Deirdre

    Default Just a reminder

Hi, I would just like to remind everyone that I will be continuing to 'collect' questionnaires until late Sept/Oct.

Thank you for all your support with this study. It is very important that people around us - including our life partner as well as our friends and family - understand what infertility is and how they can best help us to get through the tough times.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

    Kind Regards,

    Deirdre

    Hi Deidre

My DH and I were happy to fill out your questionnaire a while back. I was really glad you provided the information up front about the different counselling available and that the questions may bring up some strong emotions as my DH did find it to be quite an experience, which turned out to be a good thing as it raised some previously unasked questions for him. I wish you much success in your research.
