Just popping in - I don't get any notifications anymore :-(
Joe - I was really hoping to hear positive news from you, I am so sorry that your journey has ended. So heartbreaking after everything you have been through. I hope you are doing okay. Thinking of you xx
Good luck snazzy with your next cycle - sorry to hear it didn't work. Always hard with PGD as you expect it to work.
AFM - 23 weeks & all going well. Every day I count my blessings & just so grateful after the 9 cycles, girls its such a tough journey, but nothing good comes from giving up. Stay strong!
Great to hear your news Elarwood! Congratulations to you!
I hope you are travelling along well Joe!
As for me I was scheduled to have my embryo transfer on Wednesday, and I received the call just as we were about to leave to say that our embryo didn't make the thawing process. So we are back to the drawing board, that was our last embryo. I guess we will start saving again and try another cycle in the new year.
Oh snazzy that must have been heartbreaking. Feeling for you xxx
This journey we have all endured can be so damn hard. Take care snazzy, take time for yourself & here's hoping that when you return in the new year, all your dreams will come true xxx
So good to hear from you elarwood. So happy it is all going well for you. Little bubs will be here in no time xxx
AFM considering everything I am doing ok. Glad to finally have DP home. Still a sense of grieving & very hard to see little bubbas when I am out & about. Luckily none of my friends are preggers at the moment. I certainly don't begrudge those that are, merely mourning what I will never get to experience again. Feeling very blessed to have my beautiful princess, she certainly has been getting lots of cuddles
Trying to look to the future but some days are easier than others.
Love to you all & again thanks for all your wonderful support xxx
So sorry to see your news Joe and Snazzy. That kind of disappointment is tough to process/bear. I'm not sure how I would have come to terms with it if we had not got one.
I have already started thinking how we might go about trying to make another one. I suspect we won't waste much time trying naturally and go straight back into a PGD cycle. Given how long it took for this one, I am not sure I am willing to risk wasting time we might not have.
I'm 22wks now and all tests are clear. We are having a very active girl, she kicks quite a lot, freaked me out the first time it happened, now I worry when she has gone quiet.
best wishes to you all! I look forward to keeping up with your journeys.
Hi SB! That is wonderful news I think that is what I enjoyed most about being pregnant, feeling bubs moving around inside. It really is such a surreal feeling. Wishing you the very best for the rest of your journey xxx
AFM some days are still harder than others. DP has been wonderful with all my ups & down, grumps & funks which means so much to me. Focussing on the future & giving all my loving to DD for who I am eternally grateful to be a mum to.
We have decided to start another round of ivf in September! Hoping for a better outcome this time. I spoke with my ivf doctor and he has suggested using a different medication to improve the quality of my eggs, they managed to retrieve 24 eggs last cycle, but we lost about 10 as they were not mature, and after waiting to day 5 and doing PGD we only had 2which were not successful.
When I spoke with the specialist he lost me when he was talking about menopausal nuns urine! Apparently there is a hormone in that has proven successful..... Has anyone else heard of this or used it??
We're getting all our ducks in a row to start trying for baby#2! We've met with our specialist & have spoken with Genetics. Our last cycle was in 2012 & a lot has changed it seems!
Anyways I'll go through & catch up on everyone but in the mean time i hope you are all well.
Snazzy, did you end up doing a cycle in September? What was the story with the menopausal nuns, sounds interesting!
We're hoping to start a cycle in Feb! I am told any embryos will be frozen & tested? Not sure how it all works now. Can anyone shed any light? I've called the nurse because feel a little lost.
hi, jbear. when i did a round at the end of 2012 I don't think they froze them before testing. I had around 6/7 that were suitable for testing (from about 12 eggs retrieved), and then I had a couple from a leftover over cycle that were thawed out and added to the bunch (they turned out to not be suitable). I was lucky enough to have 2 pgd embryos from that, 1 was ds & one is frozen. maybe if you only get a few embryos from an egg collection, they'll freeze them, do another round & test them altogether? rather than just test 2/3 eggs at a time. hopefully your nurse can answer your questions more precisely! keep updating... ;-)
Thanks Andie. I didn't think of that but will ask. I spoke to the nurse, she said we will do collection Feb, have a months break then transfer in April. Hopefully we have at least one to put back. But will discuss options with our Dr in March. Eeek i just want to skip to April already.
Hey ladies, i hope everyone is well. I had egg collection yesterday & got a great haul of 18! Now we wait & watch that number drop. But DH & i are just taking it as it comes. What else can you do!?
Yes, five frozen 4 biopsied 1 of these they were unable to biopsy unfortunately there wasn't enough cells (i think). So now we wait 2-3 weeks for the results. Fingers crossed, all we need is that one golden egg!
Hope everyone is well. Thanks for checkin in Andie
