Re: IVF with PGD # 11
hi, jbear. when i did a round at the end of 2012 I don't think they froze them before testing. I had around 6/7 that were suitable for testing (from about 12 eggs retrieved), and then I had a couple from a leftover over cycle that were thawed out and added to the bunch (they turned out to not be suitable). I was lucky enough to have 2 pgd embryos from that, 1 was ds & one is frozen. maybe if you only get a few embryos from an egg collection, they'll freeze them, do another round & test them altogether? rather than just test 2/3 eggs at a time. hopefully your nurse can answer your questions more precisely! keep updating... ;-)

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Thanks Andie. I didn't think of that but will ask. I spoke to the nurse, she said we will do collection Feb, have a months break then transfer in April. Hopefully we have at least one to put back. But will discuss options with our Dr in March. Eeek i just want to skip to April already.
How is everyone else?

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
So i start my cycle tonight! So nervous to inject myself as DH did it last time.
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Hey ladies, i hope everyone is well. I had egg collection yesterday & got a great haul of 18! Now we wait & watch that number drop. But DH & i are just taking it as it comes. What else can you do!?
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
goodluck, jbear! fingers crossed you get a handful to test. xx
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
just checking in on you, jbear - any news? xx
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Yes, five frozen  4 biopsied 1 of these they were unable to biopsy unfortunately there wasn't enough cells (i think). So now we wait 2-3 weeks for the results. Fingers crossed, all we need is that one golden egg!
Hope everyone is well. Thanks for checkin in Andie :D
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
crossing everything for you, jbear... the waiting is so hard!
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
not good news for me...none of my embryos are balanced. So we are back to saving and will hopefully have better luck next time.
I hope everyone is well, will still be checking in on this thread.

I have emptied my inbox. Might have to tru again on my lappy instead of my phobe this time.
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Oh, wow!! I'm really pleased for you! 3 is great, such pot luck which egg/sperm combo you happen to get. You must be thrilled. Now for the next bit... ;-)
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Thanks Andie. We are so happy...but as you know trying just to take it as it comes. Bit nervous about losing any when they thaw.
We meet with our specialist next week. We've never done a frozen cycle so i don't even know what happens next!
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
I'm sure your specialist will be able to answer all your q's next week, but I think day 5's tend to be more robust & you're less likely to lose them in the thawing process. Although as you have experienced, anything can happen. I have a feeling you will get a transfer though. ;-)
All the best next week, will you have to wait long for a transfer?
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
I know it's the 'anything can happen' that scares me the most, but we are just so excited with the possibilities! My period is due around 11 July, so i'm guessing it would be later in the month.
I cleared my inbox, properly, I think! Haha
Hope you're well :)
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Well just having possibilities is a big improvement from last round, so I say you are right to be excited! Your transfer sounds like it will be around my c sect date... it's a sign... ;-)
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
I hope so Andie! It would be so nice to have everything work out on our fist transfer. Exciting times ahead, how are you feeling?
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
I'll be stalking later in July looking for any updates... :-)
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
So transfer is tomorrow! Eeek....hoping that there are no problems thawing & everything goes smooth. Anyone had a frozen transfer and was not given progesterone? Is that the norm?
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Yay! Been wondering if you were nearly ready for transfer. Is it a natural transfer, as in they are tracking your cycle and popping embryo in when you ovulate yourself? If so, they might think your body will produce progesterone itself? Personally, I would ask for my progesterone levels to be checked anyway so I could have extra progesterone if needed. Or just ask to take some just in case. Good luck. Xx
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Transfer went well! Yay....now the 2ww. Yeah i asked and the said my body is doing what it should and i don't need the extra progesterone. Fingers crossed. Hope everything is going well with you xx
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
How's it going, jbear? Hanging in there? Xx
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Ugh....yep 4 more days til my blood test. Feeling ok, had a little mild cramps off and on. Debating whether or not to do hpt? Thoughts?
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
You're asking a die hard poas addict... so I'm always going to say yes to testing! I could never wait. [emoji3]
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Haha i sooooo want to but dh is worried about getting a false positive. When would you test? I'm 10dpt tomorrow.
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
I test 5 days past 5dt. So 10dpo. So yeah... I would definitely test 10dpt! That's just me though, others may disagree. Like your dh. [emoji6]
-
Re: IVF with PGD # 11
