Meredith, glad 13 of them are still going...about the transfer, the clinic always incline to transfer the strongest one as they are trying to get you pregnant asap of course. But in this instance, I would request to freeze the top performer given your current lining situation.
Another thing I have always wonder is - seems stim cycle never worked for me, even last time, two perfect 5 day blasties...the only time I got pregnant is from a FET cycle. I think because our body has been knocked around with all the poking and drug and EPU etc and might not be in top condition while FET is the closest toward natural conception. WTH also posted a research earlier in the thread about the IVF clinics in Japan has stopped all fresh transfer because FET seems to have higher success rate. Correct me if I am wrong WTH, but it has something to do with E2 level as well. If I can have last cycle all over again, I certainly wouldn't transfer two, I feel I've wasted a perfect embyro, I would transfer a less stronger one and freeze the best for FET. For one, it has better chance to survive the freeze and thaw, for two, there is better chance in a FET cycle. But that's just my personal opinion hun...do what you feel comfortable...
AFM, 1st b/t and scan this morning, everything seems ok, I have 8 follicles on the left and 8 on right, lining is 6mm. Nothing much to report really.
Hope everyone is having a cool weekend. Here is getting hot already. I am not too fond of 'hot weather', normally I am 'hot and bothered' in this heat.
Meredith - Great day 3 results. Good luck with whatever you decide to do tomorrow - be it transfer or freezing. I really can't make a suggestion one way or another. Such a difficult decision for you, but I know you will do whatever feels best and you can only trust your own intuition at times like these. Yes, I would transfer my "inconclusive" frostie. It passed the first batch of 5 tests, just not the second round which we have viewed as "bonus" tests. This was a timing issue at the lab which mean't they could not attempt to read the sample. So I do not know if the first frostie is covered for T15,16&22.
Kel - if you are out there -
Cuddlepie - yes, that is what I read about IVF at some clinics in Japan. They think the lower E2 levels in FET are helping with implantation. Mine was over 4000 at transfer. I do not know if this is a good number. I was told they wanted it to be over 1000 at transfer. BTW you have such a lovely number of follicles there. Isn't it weird that when you and Sara have a natural cycle you have so many follies?
AFM - it turns out one blast (not two) got biopsied yesterday. Another good un, so we have one hopefully nestling in now plus two frosties. Don't know what gives with getting 4/4 negatives over 2 cycles, given my MC history (including two confirmed trisomies). We are wondering if the FSH in IVF is giving my tired eggs the extra estrogen boost they need.

CP - It was actually me who brought up the IVF/Japan issue as my FS told me about it. Think WTH had read about it too. I am inclined to now wonder if my chances of getting pg would be better with FET or even going back to IUI. Thanks for your input and at this stage I think i agree with you. if we have some choice then i will freeze the best. If only 1 or 2 get to blast then prob will just transfer and take my luck. I am in a reasonable position of at least seeming to have fair egg numbers so worse case scenario is just having to go back to square one again. Sounds great in theory but I know i will still be devastated by the prospect
WTH - What great results you've had this time. 3 goodies from 7 starting AND 2 made it to freeze.
Hoping you don't need your frosties unless you want to go back for a 3rd child!
Meredith - GL tomorrow. Will be thinking of you. Looking forward to being PUPO together . BTW we actually started with 10 mature eggies from pickup this cycle (one was damaged prior to fertilisation), so 3/9 made it to blast (6/9 fertilised). Last round was 1/7 made it to blast (4/7 fertilised). Same dose of 375 units (just changed brands). Shows that the quality can really vary from cycle to cycle which is why things could go much better for you this month
When the clinic first called just said another b/t on Monday, but in the afternoon, they said my b/t result showed LH surge of 38 (?) have no idea what level that I should be at Day 10. So they think I could be O over these two days and need to be monitoring. So another blood test tomorrow to see if LH is going up or down.
This happened to me once on my last FET so ended up transferred on Day 15 (assuming O on D10) instead of Day 19 (O on D14 which should be the normal timing). Why my body is not behaving itself only at this time that I need it to be? I now have a really bad feeling about this cycle now...
Forgot to mention that this morning they see the dominant follicle measured 14mm is on the right. It seems when right Ovary O, I always have a short cycle. Just checked my record, last FET was right Ovary too. Last cycle I had a particular long cycle, one is due to right after stim cycle, second I think its because its left ovary's turn to O.
I don't feel any strong O signs, given now the size of the follicle is only 14mm (no wonder we never got pregnant naturally!),I am thinking if that is the case, would my uterus environment be optimal to accept the embryo? Should I wait another month when its left ovary's turn that my body is more in tune.
Would LH keep going up higher than 38? Or this is only the start of leading up to O? anyone knows?
Good luck for tomorrow Meredith...fingers crossed for you!!
Meredith for today - just go with whatever your heart tells you to do.
WTH: that all sounds like a really great cycle for you, well done for having another one frozen, but you know hun, I can't see you needing it.
CP: I am sorry things are getting complicated for you, you really don't need this now - what does this mean for all your other plans this month - can you remove yourself from them at least? I can't offer much help with your question as I have no experience in this.
WTH - I kind of discounted anything that didn't fertilise in your cycle as can't obviously get any further if there is no embie. Still great results
CP - Oh darl, I know only to well what its like to worry over everything and second guess your body
I honestly don't know what LH levels should be for a surge. Only that when there is a true surge, O usually happens 24hrs later. 14mm does seem to small to be ready to O yet. I think you should ask your clinic re advice on this one. I can defnitely understand not wanting to transfer if things are "not right" but surely your Dr should be the one to guide ou here
AFM - we have 2 blasts on board. The clinic had pretty much made the choice before i even got there, to put the 2 best ones in. Discussed it with embryologist and she said that they don't freeze straight away - still watch them for a bit so still no guarantee that even the best would even be frozen. Dr also thought I sould just go with ET as per "normal" regardless of lining. Monash IVF has VERY, VERY strict freezing criteria and given none frozen from my last cycle, guess wouldn't want to lose something that still could stick despite my bad feeling. We have 2 other early blasts so just praying maybe at least one makes it to freeze
Not 100% sure I am happy with decision kind of made for us but I am also a bit relieved to have someone else just make it for me this time. I am bit tired of all the mental stress of all this stuff so it really was a weight lifted to just do what "i was told" for once.
I also feel better after asking my Dr if i can go straight into another cycle if i get AF in another 10 days. If we have any frosties then will do FSH OI ? FET cycle ( rather than HRT given i don't cycle naturally). If no frosties the may do a few IUI cycles as I think my body needs the more "natural" cycling rather than huge stim , then crash to nothing on a month off when by body does nothing on its own
Anyway, the TWW madness will bgin shortly I am sure!

Two blasties on board is great. Also sounding good that your clinic thought the lining issue was not as problematic. Keepign everything crossed that the two early ones will make it to the freezer - two me this all sounds much beter then your last cycle, is that right?
It's also really good that you halready have a contention plan - but vvery much hope you won't need it. Here is for the hattrick!
Congratulations for the two blasties on board Meredith!! Hope you keep sane in TWW and I will join you very soon, well I hope. Looking forward to hearing some good news about the frostie too so you have some reserve...
Had a very busy weekend socially on top of my Ovary drama, went for my b/t yesterday and LH was 44, E2 390ish...so they said it is still on the up and just had another b/t this monring and hopefully they will determine O was on Sunday, then TF will be this Friday. I haven't got a chance to talk to FS but spoke to a really nice nurse yesterday and gladly that she asked most of my questions to put my mind at ease.
I was reading this Month's astrology while waiting this morning in the clinic, it says 'universe has a plan for you, just go with the flow ...' so I decide I will just do that and let it go...whatever will be will be... and I am not even going to worry about the gathering if it happend to clash with it, i will just tell MIL what she needs to do, hehe..
Sara, since I have to go to city for b/t so didn't drive, our walk is off, sorry hun. But I am sure we find other times later on...
WTH, hope you are not getting mad yet in TWW, I have a really good feeling about this cycle...come one, someone starts BFP in here please....
CP: That sounds like a really good way to deal with those things, since they are absolutely out of our control, the only thing we can do is going with the flow and let others give us the support we need. Good luck with your job appointment today.
Meredith & WTH - hope all is well in TWW.
Kel
Went for bushwalk on Saturday in the lower Blue Mountains and nearly got a heatstroke since it was about 37 degrees where we were walking. Afterwards went for a swim in a beautiful waterhole surrounded by the cliffs, was a great feeling. Tonight is my second walking group, really looking forward to it, I got a realy nice group of people together, was a really positive vibe last time.
Hi everone, I was discharged this morning. I ended up with severe pleural effusion (fluid on the lungs) and couldn't breath on my own, but responded very well to IV fluid and protein. My right lung is still partially collapsed and flooded and I still can't do much, but at least I'm not sitting in a hospital staring at four walls all by myself!
Thanks everyone for your support through this cycle. I've got a follow up appt with FS tomorrow, and then DH and I will decide what to do. To have 100% of 16 embryos fail is devastating, and truth be told I am simply heartbroken and am just not quite ready to get back on the horse.
Thanks again for all the hugs and kind words. I appreciate them dearly.
Good to hear from you. That all sounds terrible, you had a truly bad time. Hope you're going to feel better soon. Please just take your time to grieve and give your body time to heal. You are still young, so you have plenty of time and I am sure there is a way for your dream to come true
Hoep the appointment with yoru FS gives you some answers.
Meredith - HOORAY for your two precious embies on board Good luck with having a frostie, too!
Cuddlepie - goodness, that whole LH business is confusing. The only thing I have to offer is that those POAS ovulation tests pick up surges over 25 units. But everyone peaks at different levels. Have you had your cycle tracked before through BT's? Might be worth looking into. But ofcourse, you will be PG in a couple of weeks and not need to worry about any of this (I have a good feeling about this cycle for you, too)
Sara - eek - 37 degrees in the Blue Mtns would be a stinker. So humid. But swimming in the waterhole sounds devine.
Kel - so glad to hear from you and to know you are out of hospital . This past month has taken such a toll on you and your body. Be good to yourself. Be spoiled. It will be really interesting to see what your FS thinks. I hope your meeting is a positive one that helps you.
AFM - have made a little pact with myself not to analyse symptoms so much this time. Am on evil Pregnyl - so am full to the brim with HCG anyway. Admittedly I am pretty tired today - but I blame that on the Nadal and Federer!
Kel, glad you are out of the hospital, what a cycle for you! Don't force yourself to start again if you are not ready, recover physically first hun and look after yourself. I hope FS appt will yield good result for future cycles.
Sara, wow, blue mountain over the weekend, how lovely! I am sure the swim after the sweat made it all worthy it.
WTH, good on you for not reading any sysmptoms this cycle. Pity tennis is over otherwise would be a great distraction. But you can always count on ' Desperate housewives' which will be on air next week....:-)
CP - Hope your BT this morning sorted out when O happened/about to happen. Good thought about going with the flow. Wish it was always that easy! I am to much of a control freak to be that phylosophical
Sara - Sounds like a very energietc w/e. Good on you for getting out there in the heat... I would have stayed in front of the air/con!
Kel - so glad to hear you are out of hosp. What a horrid, horrid cycle. I truly understand how devastated you must be. Give yourself time and listen to your FS before deciding on the next move.
WTH - YOu sound very relaxed in your TWW. I truly feel this will be the one for you too but don't want to jinx you. Hope the next week passes quickly
AFM - One in the freezer..... yay!!Guess I am still a bit concerned re the stats given I started with 13 embies but at least its a touch better than last cycle. I am beginning to truly think that a) this whole IVF business isn't great for egg quality ( I was having much better success just with OI/IUI!) and b) my clinic must have much stricter guidelines for freezing than some others. I know a few people who get none or barely any frosties with my clinic but get on BB and hear of people with 5 or more blasties frozen. Guess at least if we need to use our frostie, it will probably be a goodie which is the clinic's whole reasoning but i can't help feeling that maybe some "poorer" ones might still make it given the chance.
My attitude of 'going with the flow' really is just a result of so tired of battling things that are out of our control. So I gave up. Anyway, the Sunday LH surge was 44 which is up from Saturday's 38, then Monday is down to 14 which means I Oed somewhere between late Saturday and Sunday. Clinic said the T day will be on 5th Feb at 1.15pm. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? Anyway, told you, I am not battling anymore, seems Universe just want embie on board on this day. Instead, feel happy about it. Its my birthday, Fengshui says its a very auspicious day (thanks to Tiggerlinda), and about the BBQ, I am going to ask MIL to take care some of that, she is bringing dessert and maybe salad. I will do some preparation on Wed night too..and I am not going to stess about it as much as I am a perfectionist.
I have asked the clinic to move the timing a bit early and possible will be on 11ish which worked better. Lucky its just a TF, I should be on my feet straight away anyway. I will have to do AP the next day.
Meredith, its great to hear that you have 1 frostie. I know your feeling about lower number about frozen embies, I can't believe that some people will have 10, why can't I have that kind of luck. But again, I also think, some of those are only Day3 ones and thaw rate is questionable. Still, can't help let your mind wondering though, well, that's what we do.
CP: truly what are the chances, that's bit asmazing, it seems your embie has definitely it's own head in this. I still think that it is a very lucky sign that it's on your birthday
Mereidth: well done with the one frostie. Just comparing with your last cycle it's so much bette this time, you've two on board and one to freeze.
