Glad to hear things are going fine for you Meredith.
I haven't started DHEA - went to see a dr yesterday (not a FS specialist, but an anti-aging specialist - how funny is that (from his offices, it looks like he has quite a business going) - he told me it's a big field in the US and Europe..not surprising). He is having me do extensive blood and urine tests. The blood test has to be done on the 7th day before AF and the urine test involves collecting all p for 24 hours - how crazy is that. I'm actually going to work from home on friday so that I can do this! Otherwise I'd need to carry around a container - not realistic at all. It then will take the lab up to 3 weeks to analyze the urine.
According to the lab slip for the blood, they are testing for: DHEAS, all the thyroid stuff (again), Oestradiol, Progesterone; sensitive testosterone, SHBG, FAI... I don't even know what some of these things are. The urine test will test for Adrenal Hormones and Thyroid Hormones. The downside is that these tests will not be covered by Medicare, but at this point, I don't care - I just want to do what ever it takes to give us the best chance, and fortunately DH agrees. The Dr wouldn't prescribe anything without establishing baselines - which, although frustrating, I kind of like as that makes me feel like I'm in good hands (if that makes sense). He did think that the 75mg dose of DHEA used in the studies in the US is high and I have a feeling he'd go for something like 50 which I believe Sara is on.
WLAB - I would really like to hear what your dr said about DHEA - my FS was not at all keen on it...
Big hello to everyone else...I hope Meredith's news is just the first of many good news stories.
