Thanks BW for your advice, I agree, no stone left unturned.
Does anyone one know that I can do all these test at SIVF? Or do I have to see Dr.S? I surpose I don't need to...
Kel, are you doing D3 PGD or D5? the report looks excellent! Best of luck for tomorrow...
Kel - can't wait to hear your PGD results and look forward to you announcing that you are PUPO ;)
Cuddlepie - I ain't giving up on you being UTD this cycle yet! :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy: I also agree with the "no stone left unturned" plan.
Sara - all the best for your EPU :). Countdown to midday... :goodluck:
Buliej and Meredith - x 2
I have one perfect embryo (morula) that doesn't even appear to have my translocation. My ET is going to be at about 10:00 tomorrow morning. I cried. All the others were monosomy/trisomy (chromosomally unbalanced).
Kel - I know that must be disappointing from a percentage perspective - but remember, it really does only take 1 to make a baby. You have 1 perfect blastie - let's hope it is sticky and strong!
Julie: I didn't cry because I only got one, I cried because I got one at all! I'm so relieved and excited; this is the closest we've ever been to having a baby.
Oh Kel - I am so sorry for misinterpreting. I'm not in the best frame of mind myself. You are so right to be crying with joy!
Just popping in to let you loverly ladies know, I am thinking of you, and cheering along from the sidelines xxx
Kel - I am thrilled for you. Congratulations and GL with the transfer :D
Kel, that's great news, I hope this one is a fighter and stick for a long term. Good luck with the ET.
Sara, how is the EPU go? I assume it will take a while for you to recover as you are put under...thinking of you....I hope you get lots of Easter eggies...
Just popping in to say wohooooooo for kel. I hope ET went well today and your perfect bubba decides to stick around
Also Sara - praying you got some great eggies today and are recovering well from EPU.
CP - don't give up hope on this one yet but I agree you are right to make a plan B involving more investigation. Wouldn't be to hard for you to see DrS if you need to given you live in Sydney. Might be worth another opinion? My understanding is that for things like NK cell issues ( which I may have), it causes some women to repeat m/c and others to have implantation issues. Worth getting proper testing given treatment is possible.
Lots of the follies didn't contain eggs, three eggs - only two mature - looking for a dark cave to crawl into
Kel: that's wonderful good luck with Et tomorrow.
Sara
Sara - 2 is still OK, please don't get too down about it (remember, this cycle almost didn't happen and now you have TWO chances for a baby!) - I hope they both fertilize. If they do, will you be putting both back in?
Kel - good luck tomorrow - I hope I didn't hurt your feelings with my foot in the mouth comment.
Julie, thanks for your support. Unfortunately it's not that easy - they need to grow to blastocyst and then test okay, that's why I have lost hope.
Sara
Sara :  for you hun - I hope everything works out for you
Kel: Sticky vibes for you, all the best for tommorows transfer
Hi to CPie, and good luck hun for your tww, thinking of you
Hi also to WTH and Julie :p
Big  Sara...take care of yourself, you've done everything you can, I know this rollcoaster sucks but don't lose hope yet and remember your fert rate is good...
Julie, I am so sorry hun, I don't know what to say, just huge  and stay strong...
WLAB, thanks for poping in and I love the name Cpie...:)
CP& WLAB, thanks for your support.
Julie  this is so hard, can't believe it
Sara
Sara, last night it was hard to read your post and Julie's, you were both on my mind....its just so much unfairness and heartache in this journey...
I hope the two eggs are both fertilized today and progress to the next step...I know this is hard but hang in there ... Can you do Day 3 PGD? It seems Kel did it, worth checking with Alison?
Julie : I wanted to pop in and reiterate what I said on the phone, and this goes for all of us, you are all brave, sincere, courageous women. We will be meeting up with bubba's in a bugaboo, thinking back of these times, and wondering how we ever got through it. But we will, and we will be rewarded for all our hard work. :grouphug:
Hi Girls,
We're down to one, seems there was something wrong with the second mature egg - it had three ??, will have to check with the embryologist a bit later.
Really not holding out much hope, but obviously there is always a chance, you never know.
Julie, thanks for reminding me yesterday, you are right, this cycle almost didn't happen and now there is at least a chance how slim it may be - I just think you are absolutely amazing thinking of me while you went yourself through a nightmare  Listen to what WLAB says I can see you both there in the future too.
CPie: (sorry I may start calling you by that name too) also still think the two of us will go around the bay walk with prams at some point in the future. And if by some chance it may not happen we will still be happy, there is so much out there.
Thanks for your idea about the day three PGD, I don't think that SIVF still does that but will ask my FS later today.
I will talk to me FS asking if I can come in for an FSH test when my period comes if there is no transfer, in case the FSH is 10 or less I may go straight into another cycle, if not, I hold out and will then test every month hoping that at some point it will be good enough. I won't go on another cycle with a FSH higher than 13 as it obviously is an indicator for me of egg numbers and quality.
Sending lots of :bluedust: to all of you.
Sara
Sara, glad you had a plan formed already, at least you've tried this cycle and now knew better about your body, so it is not all vain, you know success always comes after many trial and errors...I am still picturing us pushing prams doing bay walk for sure in the coming days, although all these life lessons are damn hard, let's not losing hope...
Hi everyone,
Firstly, thank you so much for all of your support over the last week.
Our one perfect little morula grew into our one perfect big blast overnight, and the ET went perfectly this morning. I start progesterone tonight until beta, and have another appointment with FS on Wednesday next week to keep an eye on my OHSS (grade two this time).
I am FINALLY PUPO! We're going to suffer through this 2WW so terribly.
Julie: Not at all! :)
Sara: I am so sorry, hon. I don't know what to say to make you feel better. :comfort:
Congratulations Kel, you are PUPO! All sounds perfect and sending you lots of sticky vibes...
Kel -That's great. :hooray: for being PUPO :stickyvibesgirl:
Sara - Julie is exactly right - this cycle almost didn't happen. And remember your outstanding egg quality last time? Still got a good chance you may have blast to be tested :goodluck:
Cuddlepie - more :stickyvibesboy: for you
WLAB - hi there. PM'ed you back with Royal Jelly details :)
Julie - :comfort: Thinking of you :comfort:
Meredith - Hope you are ok
A quick hello to you all and sticky vibes for those of you who are finally in a well-deserved TWW. Sara - I hope you are there soon as well. Kel - things sound fantastic for you - I can't wait to see a BFP in your signature.
And thank you all for your thoughts and cyber-hugs.
I also have to remain optimistic (I couldn't do this without hope that one of these cycles will indeed work). My FS really believes it is a numbers game - at this age, she believes 50% of my eggs will be abnormal and it is a matter of getting 1 good one (she did say if I was having better egg numbers she would recommend PGD but it just doesn't make sense when I'm only getting 1 or 2 eggs). Also, I was able to catch some of what I've lost (that is already TMI) and she said it looked like enough for them to run genetic tests on, so I will know for sure whether this was another chromosone issue. As horrible as it was for me to do this - the desire to know for certain what the issue is was overwhelming and it forced me to just do what needed to be done.
We already have a plan in place for the next cycle (that is, the next cycle that I am ready to do - I will definitely be taking a month off). She also had me take a number of the recurring m/c tests - just to see that there's not another issue that has to be dealt with. She didn't volunteer this immediately, but when I asked, she was completely agreeable to running them.
So, it's away for the long weekend for us - with wine & chocolate & cheese (I can't wait) - and then back to wheat grass, acupuncture, Royal Jelly (that will be a new one for me), DHEA (another new one for me), and anything else I read about online other than jumping off a bridge!
Julie, you have an amazing strength and I am so glad you had FS appt so timely and worked out a strategy moving forward...it seems in the next few weeks, a few of us will be running a lot of tests together, can come back and compare notes...
Enjoy you wine, chocolate and cheese weekend together with DH and just gather all your strength... a break can do wonders...talking about jumping of the bridge, seems that's the only thing we haven't done isn't it? if google says it can give me a bub, I won't hesitate to do it either, how crazy we are...:D Glad you still kept your humour in a sad circumanstance.
Kel: lots of :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy: to you, so please that you're PUPO now.
AFM Yep also definitely considering the jumping of the bridge option:redface:
Seriously Julie, that' s really amazing. Hope the weekend away will give you lots of strength and that the DHEA and Royal Jelly will help you getting a little one.
WTH: thanks for your support - coudl I also get the Royal Jelly details?
I just talked to my FS she has allowed me to do an FSH test at the start of my next period I just don't believe that a transfer will be possible this time. She doesn't mind me going directly into another cycle but said the FSH could be artificially low coming off a stimulated cycle like if you come off the pill, so need to talk to her about that abit more before making a decision.
CPie I also asked about PGD testing on Day 3, she said SIVF definitely does not do it and she had patients going to other clinics because of that. She said IVF Australia does it on day three, but they let the embryos grow until Day 5 so it doesn't seem to really help. She said to do Day 3 testing and transfer I'd have to go to Melbourne, I am wondering if that would be an option for me.
It's a numbers game and I just don't seem to have the numbers to wait till day 5. I think a few of you are in Melbourne, would you be able to suggest an FS/Clinic where I could just inquire about this as an option?
Sara
Sara: Most of us Melb girls are with Melbourne IVF or Monash IVF, my FS from Melb IVF, who used to consult at Monash IVF told me that Monash only like to transfer day 5 embryo's. I am not sure where that fits in with PGD.
HTH hun
ROYAL JELLY :)
I bought "Nature's Goodness" Royal Jelly. 1000mg for 365 capsules. 1 per day. They came from a health food shop. Reduced from $131.50 to $109.90. They are pretty big! BTW - make sure you check the "use by" date as they need to last 12 months.
Buliej - I agree with Cuddlepie - you are a woman of amazing strength. Enjoy your wine and chocolates because I still hold out such great hope that you will not be able to have them for much of 2009! What your FS says makes total sense about chromsonal abnormalities. My IVF brochure said 2/3 of day 3 day embies and 1/3 day 5 blasts are chromosonally abnormal - in a healthy person in their twenties! I still hold out hope that the DHEA will improve your numbers. Maybe in due course you will get such a number that you might be able to do Day 3 PGD?? It is great that you are also getting some r/c m/c tests done - no stone left unturned seems to be the motto on this thread.
Sara - you have actually solved a mystery for me. I had unusually low FSH (in fact, unusually low everything) when I did my 2nd PGD cycle straight of the bat from the 1st cancelled PGD cycle. Now I know why ;)
Hello :hello: to Meredith, Cuddlepie, WLAB and Kel. Have a lovely Easter ;)
Hi,
Our embie is still going, at 5 cells it's a bit behind but I guess there is still some hope. I am starting to be ok with things, glad that the egg quality at least allowed the embie to get this far.
I've also emailed Dr Sachs and got a reply real quick, I am considering to change over to IVF Australia since they do the biopsy at Day 3 which might be better for me.
Sara
Sara - he's good, isn't he? I had an appointment with him after my July m/c to run a BT for NK cells (I think Meredith flew up to see him for the same test). Pleased to hear your emby is still growing. Potential biopsy Sunday/Monday? you get there :crossfingers:
Girls,
It's amazing, the scientist just called and my single little embie has progressed to become a young blastocyst, the scientist seemed hopeful he would progress fruther and if all goes well there will be a biopsy tomorrow morning.
WTH: Yes I think he is a great doctor - he emailed me twice within 24 hours and that's on on Good Friday! Absolutely amazing - unfortunately IVF Australia won't be the place for me as they only transfer on Day 5. Have now emailed Monash and Melbourne IVF and will see what they say.
Have a lovely Easter everyone!
Sara
Sara that is fantastic news about your little blastie!!! What a fighter!!!
Keep us posted!
Sara- amazing little embie!!!! what fabulous news. Praying with everything crossed that you get to biopsy and the results good. Maybe there is a chance of a miracle yet?!
I did my PGD with Monash(in melb) and they do all biopsy at day3 and will transfer between day3 and 5 depending on numbers etc
CP - forgive me,not sure where you are in your TWW? Have you found out yet?
Kel - wow!!! I perfect blast on board. You are in with SUCH a great chance this time
Juie - I have re0plied in another thread bt want to reiterate what and amazing woman you are. To keep looking forward through such a sad time is fabulous. You deserve all the success in the world and I certainly hope it finds you very soon
Thanks for thinking of me Meredith&Molly - my little embryo has grown into a perfect little blastocyst and is currently being biopsied - results will come by late afternoon today. I am not holding out much hope for the biopsy result but very relieved that I was able to get one blasto from only one fertilised egg.
Sara
:crossfingers::crossfingers: GOOD LUCK SARA :crossfingers::crossfingers:
Thinking of you Sara, and hope this time it all works out.
take care,
Kate
Sara : Wonderful news, thinking of you today and hoping you get great news :crossfingers:
Ooooh Sara, so it has been tested - so glad little super embie made it this far...I hope it continues to be successful on it's little sticky way..
Sara - I'm sitting on the edge of my sit - I really hope this little embryo is perfect!!!
Kel - I look forward to seeing your BFP announcement
Hi to Meredith, C'Pie, WTH, Ms Pink, WLAB, Kate, MollyGirl and anyone else who I missed.
AFM - not much to report - we enjoyed our long weekend away - now it is back to all the herbs, vitamins, etc. We probably won't be doing another IVF cycle for a couple of months as I want to wait a full cycle and I think we will be away for the following cycle. But I am going to start charting so that we can try on our own.
