Hi Cuddlepie - so glad to hear you had some nice eggies, and here's hoping they are nicely fertilised tomorrow, :crossfingers: for you!
This morning's fertlization report - out of the 4 mature eggs, 3 fertilized. I don't have much expectation ATM but trying to think positive, especially thinking of the living proof Julie, only got two eggs and look at you now, pregnant! That just gave me so much hope!
DH and I are talking about if this cycle is not successful, we will do some test on implantation. We also weight up the pros and cons and decided to do fresh transfer rather than freeze and FET. Realistically, I will be lucky to have 1 blasties out of this cycle, there is no point to go through freeze and thaw and taking that risk is it? Although I don't have high hope on Fresh transfer (had 3 fresh TF, never worked), just have to bite the bullet...at least I will save $660 freezing fee, here is some silver lining...:-)
Sara, I am thinking of you, I think you are having your first u/s either today or Monday, I hope you will see decent number of follicles and can keep going for this cycle....
Cuddlepie: Let's hope your three embies are going to stick around for the long haul. I am not sure how high the risk is with freezing I think I asked my doctor and I think she said something of 80-90% thraw fine.
AFM: I've the weirdest BT result, E2 is 1120. Absolutely didn't expect that as I thought after only three puregons it should be somewhere between 100 and 500. FS has ordered me to already take Orgalutran tonight so had to raise to the pharmacy to get one. I've asked to have ultrasound tomorrow morning instead of Tuesday as I really want to know what's going one there. I think worst case scenario I only have one which is already close to ovulation which would mean cycle gets cancelled, but hoping for a miracle.
Sara
CP - that was exactly the result I got from my first cycle, and it's a fine result. Getting a huge number of eggs is not what's important - that you have 3 good ones is.
Sara - I hope the scan goes well.
Sara, I hope the E2 level gives good indication of great number of follicles! Glad you are having u/s done on Monday to see what is going on...
About the Thawing rate, so far all my embies have thawed successfully actually, so I will make the final decision based on my Day 3 result...
Thanks Julie for your kind words. I hope you are doing fine and diarrhea is gone by now...
Sorry to jump in our your thread girls but I wanted to give a big cheer to my special friend CP. 4 little embies is a great result CP. We found the quality of our embies were really good with the antagonist cycle. I am hoping and praying for you that you will get your BFP from this cycle like we did. Stay strong my friend.
Wishing you all the very best on your journeys.
Hugs Bel

Thanks Bel, you are so sweet...I would love to have the 'happy ending' for this cycle for a change...
Sara, how did this morning scan go? Hope everything is going well.
CP: Really hoping for the happy ending for you :goodluck:
Buliej: Hope you're going okay, saw your comment in the other forum and can understand your concern. Thinking of you and praying for a h&h and prefectly uneventful pregnancy for you.
WLAB: Hope the TWW is treating you kindly - when is your BT? Saw the other thread and can understand that you're already planning for the next step as I am also a planner and feel best wehn I have a Plan B, C, D & E. I really hope this is not neccessary and your BT will be positive. Otherwise I agree with Possum's comments.
Kel: How are you going hun?
Manhattan: Hope everthing is going well for you.
:hello: Lisa, WTH, Meredith
Girls, I am over the moon, who would have expected: I had nine follicles between 6 and 12 mm, so I have a reasonable chance of having more eggs this time than last time, already starting to hope to have 6 - may come crashing down from cloud nine as I know not all follicles contain eggs and the quality may be bad.... but for now I've become an enthusiastic supporter of wheatgrass, tomato juice and DHEA & Jann the acupuncturist (this are the things I changed this cycle compared to last time).
Have a great day,
Sara
WOOHOO Sara, that sounds wonderful, I am so happy for you and wishing you all the best for this cycle. Look forward to hearing how it goes. Big hugs, xx
Thank you BDT, cyclebuddy - how are things looking for you?
Sara
Sara: That's an amazing result; I am just so happy for you I can't describe it.
CP: Do you have some more good news to share with us today?
BDT/Manhattan/Julie/Lisa/Meredith/WTH/WLAB: :hello:
AFM, not going to EPU on Wednesday unfortunately because the follicles haven't grown enough since Friday. So, EPU is definitely on Friday now. Still approx. 20 follicles, but found out today from FS that PCOS ovaries develop more abnormal eggs than "normal" ovaries, which I didn't know, so we have that to contend with as well. Still, good steady growth even if in small increments, and no signs of OHSS yet, so all is well.
Cuddlepie - on your three wonderfully fertilised embies. I  they keep dividing and you are PUPO in the coming days ;)
Sara - OMG  Just shows what a whole crock of %#@* the whole FSH thingo is. Soooooo glad you trusted your own instincts and have given this cycle a chance... :goodluck:
Kel - Good luck with your EPU on Friday. I hope this week does not drag on for you (and that you are not too uncomfortable with your big batch of eggies) :crossfingers:
OMG, Sara, I am thrilled for you...like WTH said, FSH really means nothing...so glad you give it a shot this time. I am interested to see what your FS say about this.... sometimes they just don't have answers for things like this....I hope with this growing rate, you will have your EPU this week at some stage....
Kel, slowing growing is good for the egg's quality, so I guess extra two days in the grand scheme of things is not bad if you can get improved egg quality...hang in there, not long to go...
AFM, no news, Days 3 report is tomorrow, I am not so looking forward to it TBH....
Sara - that is awesome. I am in a seminar and am suppose to be paying attention but I had to check and am so glad I did.
I am proceeding with getting a script for dhea - on Wed. I need to have a back up plan if this doesn't work out.
I will post more later.
Hi Girls, hope you all enjoyed a nice weekend!
Kel - hope your eggies continue to grow nice and healthy for your EPU on friday. Will your mum still be in town then?
Sara - that is fantastic news, I'm really so happy for you. Fingers crossed there are lots of eggs growing in there for you this time around.
CP - praying your embies keep dividing and they can make it to the next stage!
WTH - excuse my ignorance, but what is PUPO???
:hello: to everyone else!
Afm, not much happening, (22 days til next FS appt!) although have an appt with my GP tonight to discuss ivf and pgd (upon FS recommendation). Hope to come out with more answers than questions this time!
Manhatten - it is an acronym Cuddlepie taught me - PUPO= Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise ;) GL with your appointment.
Ah gotcha now! I knew P was for Pregnant, but couldnt work out the rest :D
Sara - I'm so happy for you - those numbers are great. I'm sure there's at least 1 good egg in there. So glad you pushed forward with this cycle.
Kel - good luck on Friday - I hope the follicles keep on growing and you get some nice eggies.
CP - I hope the Day 3 report is a good one - fingers crossed
Manhattan - I hope you get some good advice from your GP.
Hello to everyone else!
Sara : Wonderful news, what a rollercoaster month for you lovely
Kel : Good luck for Friday, oh I hope those little eggs are growing nicely
Cuddlepie : Thinking of you for tommorows day 3 results
Manhatten : I hope your GP can give you all the answers you need
Hi WTHope and to BullieJ -
Julie: Thanks for the dosage amounts on the weatgrass, I forgot to text you thanks
AFM: Who would like some free lawnmower clippings (aka wheatgrass) I bought it yesterday, and I can't do it. So I think $5.00 postage and it's free to a good home ... oops I mean free to good eggs .... ;) I only used 2 teaspoons of it ..
AFM: I am not going insane, I am insane,:wall: - However, I will be fine, nothing like a tww that you want to work with all your heart to keep you going
WLAB - did you hate the taste of the wheatgrass - I didn't find it so horrible - I was expecting worse - and compared to my Chinese herbs, the wheatgrass is like chocolate! try mixing it in other things if you can't do it with the water. On the weekends we'd make a smoothy at home and throw some in - couldn't even taste it. I don't think it would go with orange juice, but maybe another juice? Also, WLAB, when is your AF due?
WLAB -
I suggest try the wheatgrass again, just one teaspoon on a whole glass of water with a little bit of lemon lemonade, that's the way I think it's quite okay. I also thought I couldn't do it the first few days when I used a large teaspoon in a shot glass.
Sara
Thanks Sara and Julie ; I can't drink it, I know what I am like. Thanks for trying to suggest different ways to try it. So the offer still stands loverlies .. Free to good home
I am going to try the Honey Pollen ? Tablets that Where's the Hope suggested. I have read very good things about them on other threads whilst googling them, with women getting good results..ie pregnancy after taking them.
Bulliej: Can you pls text me the number to the DHEA doctor. I am trying that as well.
BT is this Friday, I am so scared, I am thinking of having one at a GP on wed to calm my nerves, oh who am I kidding, I have already made the appointment :-)
I'll text you the dr tomorrow. He's expensive and although his office visit is covered by Medicare, the tests that he has you do are not. I don't regret going - and will continue if things don't work out - but if my FS had been willing to prescribe DHEA I wouldn't have bothered. I also did not ask my GP, but they can prescribe it as well. Just some things to think about.
Hello All..
I searched the internets for a forum as I have just found out that my husband and I will be going through IVF with PGD soon.
I am thrilled at what an amazing group of women you all are! I wish we could all just get pregnant and have healthy babies! like, now! :)
Anyway, my quick story.. i'm 35, DH 34, been trying for a while.. my husband has already had a surgery to supposedly help. Right before we were going to try IUI, we took a bunch of blood tests and found out we are both carriers for a genetic disease. So, now we can't do IUI and have to do IVF with PGD.
i've done some research, but I know the best is personal experience!
We are going this morning to meet to talk through all of that with the RE.
I'm excited to get to know all of you.
Just a quickie - running out the door....
WLAB - good luck with the Royal Jelly. Remember, will seem expensive as there is a year's supply in the jar, but realistically works out to be less than 50 cents a day (1/2 the cost of CoQ10 capsules) ;)
:welcome: California. You will find great support from some wonderful girls here. I don't know how I would have got through this whole mysterious PGD journey without them!
Cuddlepie - :goodluck: GL hun with your Day 3 results :crossfingers:
Morning girls,
Now I need some vote and suggestions.
Just got a call from clinic, I am transfering today due to limited number of embyos. Day3 report is 1 x 8cells, 1 x 5 cells and 1 x 2cells. I've never done Day 3 transfer and I know embies under 6 cells are unlikely to develop into a blastcyst. So I inclined to transfer the 5 cells one as it is not too bad for a Day 3 embie and there is also chance for the 8 cell one to keep developing and if I am lucky, I will have a frozen blastcyst.
I know I am taking a risk here of losing a 8 cell embryo, but if its not fit to develop into a blastcyst, its not good in the first place. Do you think my rationale is sound?
Transfer is 1pm today and FS will discuss this with me but I want to prepare for my opinion. What do you think girls?
CP
Completely agree with you as you know from PM.
Wishing :goodluck: with transfer and will pray for you.
About losing the 8 cell would talk it through with the scientist and see what they think, perhaps they could check tomorrow and then decide if to freeze tomorrow or wait until it's a blastie?
Sara
Thanks Sara for always there for me...you PM is like a light bolb for me and I am so glad you suggest that...
We will see how FS say this afternoon.
Actually just to add one more thing, Jann the Acupuncturist was talking long about Day 3 transfers yesterday (Was thinking at the time it was kind of pointless as not possible for me but now know why!) In her opinion they have just as much a chance as Day 5 blastie transfers. She has been in this business for a long time and said that years ago when only Day 3 transfers were done they had just as much success as now!
Sara
Welcome California
CP - I'm not sure I'm following, but why can't you transfer 2 - both the 8 cell and the 5 cell? By the way, MIVF does 2 day transfers, so I am not sure that it's been definitively shown that blasties are always better. There are 2 sides to this argument - I've heard both - they both make sense as well.
Sara, is that Jann Mehmett at Rozelle? They are really lovely there, and they do know very much what they are talking about. I never saw Jann, but I did see some of the others and loved them all.
Cuddlepie, I'd leave it up to your clinic to suggest which one to transfer. I didn't even get a choice ever! But I do just want to add that as a person who only ever had pregnancies from frozen blastocysts I was devestated when we got to our first fresh transfer and had to transfer at day 3... but that gave us Sam - so please hold on to some hope there!
BW
BW - yes it is. Actually went to the clinic after seeing your suggestion last year.:D
I had seen Bernice earlier (she is new there) but got an appointment with Jann as someone else had cancelled and just think she is absolutley excellent, feeling so much better after a treatment with her. Also saw Melissa and really like her, haven't seen any of the others but heard good things.
Sorry California, forgot to welcome you - I am also doing PGD because I carry a genetic disease, happy to talk to you if you have questions.
Sara
HI lovely ladies. Sory I haven't been in much. Just have needed a bit of a BB break but still thinking of you all
CP - I am bit late and you've prob made your choice so I hope the clinic was abe to help guide you. I know my clinic would push to put the best back but I can understand your thinking. I wanted to freeze my best last cycle cos i din't think i had any hope of getting pg but clinic pushed me to put them back then and low and behold both stuck! The subsequent loss of one of twins has been soul destroying but the choice of which embies to put back was the right one
sara - what great news on your follie nos,,,, Yipee!! When is your next scan?
kel - hope your follies are a great size by Fri and stay away OHSS!!
WLAB - Not long to go to find out. Hope you are holding up ok
Hi Girls,
Meredith: Nice to hear from you, hope things are going well - you should be close to the 12 weeks scan now?
WLAB; :goodluck: with BT today, thinking of you.
Buliej: Hope you are well, saw an article in the AFR yesterday about SafetyNet plus other family payments - it's looking pretty dark out there, I say.
CP: Really hope you went well yesterday and are happy with the decision you made and your embie is settling in nicely
Kel: How are things, you should be very close to EPU now?
WTH: Hope things are well and you don;t worry too much, saw your other thread, hope some girls have good advice for you. I am using your bag of tricks, have an egg every night now.
:hello: Manhatten, California, BW, Lisa and everyone out there.
AFM Scan went well this morning, there are six follies between 10 and 15mm, 10 in total. Picked up some Pregnyl as LH was only 0.6 on Monday, see what FS says, think it would be a good idea for me to start on this.
Still can't believe that things are looking a bit better than last time. Really hoping I grow some nice Eastereggs.
Sorry for being slack, all I want to do yesterday was lying down. Had an Acupuncture session after the TF. I did went with my gut feeling and proposed to FS my thought of transferring 5-cell and let the 8 cell keep developing. He is fine with it and he said normally they wouldn't do that but given the number of embryos atm he is happy for me to do that. Also the embryologist supported my rationale and she thinks there is fairly good chance of the 8 cell keep doing what its suppose to do and the 5-cell on day3 is definitely not a no-hoper.
Well, now it is really in God's hand, I am happy with my decision, and for once, I made the decision, so I feel good about it. Wait till later on it all crashing down on me...
We will hear the result for the 8-cell on Saturday whether it is frozen or not, but I am not too stressed about it. I think Im pass the point of being devastated for this cycle. Obviously it did not yield the best outcome and for future planing, I will go back to down-reg protocol unfortunately.
While I was at SIVF, I've also made an appt with FS in late April just to plan what the next step is, I will suggest to do more tests such as implantation etc etc. How efficient I am and how negative I am towards this cycle!
At the same time, I do hold on the hope that uterus is better than the lab and the dish and I hope my 5-cell will flourish and give me a surprise!
Sara, so glad everything is progressing nicely, yeah, I hope you will have lots of Easter eggs collected. by the sounds of the follicle size, maybe another couple of days of stim and then it will be EPU soon....good luck hun!
CP - I hope this one sticks
Sara - I am so happy for you. I just picked up a prescription for compounded DHEA in case things don't work out with my. I'm having some thyroid issues that you can read about it that thread - popped up out of no where and I'm panicked (seems to be my usual state of mind these days). Also, I skimmed the Fin Review and couldn't find the article - was it today or yesterday? I have both copies here, so let me know I'd like to read it. I have a feeling that things aren't going to go well with the Safety Net. I've signed up for my citizenship test so that I can vote - I've been procrastinating even though I don't have to give up my US citizenship.
Hi Meredith, WTH, Butterfly Warrier, California and anyone else - have to get back to work now.
CP: so glad you went with your gut feeling and are happy with decision.
Julie: it was yesterday, on the cover "Middle-class welfare", the safety net issue is mentioned on the second part on page 4.Thinkign of applying for double citizenship myself. Glad that you went for the DHEA I have some side effect mainly greasy skin in my face but really think it worked for me. You realise obviously that you can't take it as you're pregnant I will have to stop before EPU.
Sara
Thanks Sara - I did see that about Middle Class Warfare and saw the Safety Net mentioned - nothing specific about IVF though. Thanks for the reminder about DHEA - I do know not to take it when pregnant. Where do you have citizenship?
Cuddlepie - congratulations on being PUPO  (I have been hanging to say that to you). Sounds like you had a rather tricky decision and I think you handled it beautifully. Meanwhile, stick bubba stick! :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:
Sara - Wow. Your cycle is starting to sound just like my last IVF cycle ;) I wonder if it is the DHEA??? BTW my FS had me stay onthe DHEA until my official BT BFP... Yeah, started up a thread. Had plenty of views but no POV's!
WLAB - good luck for your BT on friday, I hope this is the one!
Sara - hoping the easter bunny is extra kind to you and brings lots of eggs, glad this cycle is working out for you.
CP - yay on being PUPO, sending plenty of sticky vibes your way.
Kel - good luck for your EPU this week, hope there are lots there, and the OHSS is staying away.
:hello: to everyone else
AFM - well it took me so long to find a home on BB, and I am so comfy in this thread, but I have decided to take a step back from everything which unfortunately includes BB. I know my visit has only been a short one with you, but I have been making myself sick with worry, and TTC has taken up my every waking moment (not that i was able to forget when i was sleeping anyway!). I feel I need to focus on my well being for a bit, and get back to basics, and let my head and heart catch up to eachother.
Thank you all so much for welcoming me, and sharing your experiences with me. I will still be lurking and cheering you all on from the sidelines.
Take care, believe in yourself, and know that one day you will receive a precious gift from god.
