thanks girls you are all so lovely

vic: its weird isn't it, i was on a lower dose this time but they also added another drug to try and help things

    miss.B thank you gorgeous

andie: the original plan was to take the embryos to day 2 then freeze and then thaw when i got a pgd spot and grow to day 3 to be biopsied. Then today the scientist said they have decided to freeze them tomorrow as (in their opinion) embryos thaw better when they haven't started to divide yet and that if it was a day 2 four cell it might lose a cell in the thaw and then will be behind schedule for biopsy and won't be at the right stage for day 5, i don't know how true that is but thats the theory of my clinic.

also i wanted to say i was given an extra drug this cycle too, from day 3 of gonal f they added in l uveris (all one word) it is meant to improve egg quality, who knows if it made a difference but doesn't seem to have hurt ! It is apparently $140 an injection and you take it daily with the gonal f (so for around 10 days), it hasn't been used much lately because of the cost but it has gone onto medicare now so i didn't have to pay for it

thanks sunbeam and nothing to lose

ok girls i need advice, the scientist rang this morning and we have 11 fertilised out of 13 which is great but it causes a dilemma because we aren't sure what to do about the 2nd stim. The scientist said the stats are 75% survive the thaw and then we have to grow them from fertilisation to day 3 for biopsy so we will lose more along the way no doubt, so maybe we will end up with 6 or 7 to biopsy ? The next stim would start in 2 weeks when af arrives (will be a short cycle) and we can't get a pgd spot until at least january anyway, any thoughts ? For those who have thawed embryos how did they go, did you lose 25% of them ?
