Hi everyone,
Thank you all for your well wishes, very heartwarming and much appreciated.
I have a small issue that I'm trying to make a decision on and I'd love everyone's input.
I have been given the go ahead to start a new cycle (flare), AF due around the 18th however, I have my follow up appt with the PG clinic at The Women's on the 24th to get results of the immunology testing I had done and find out treatment if necessary.
I worked out I wouldn't quite be at EPU by the time I go to this appt and I would know after my appt whether I will need treatment or not. I'm reluctant to TF again without treatment if I need it but I honestly thought that there was enough time between when my appt is and when I'm 'likely' to be transferring. Am I being unrealistic and cutting it too fine. I spoke to my GP(who is brilliant) and she asked me to think about it as she didn't want me to have regrets. Gosh, I don't either I have a known auto-immune condition already which I think puts me at greater risk of having 1 or more of these antibodies ( I've tested +ve for ANA) so I am eager to get these results. I'm also equally eager to get going I am just unsure as to what to do. :dunno:
Thank you for listening TIA
:hello: to everybody, hope things are well

Dutchie, two positive things would push "me" towards commencing a cycle on the 18th, if I were you, number 1 is that you can freeze potential embryo's if you are found to have a significant problem that will affect implantation, and 2, financially the safety net will change on the 1/1/10, and I would like to get as many embies on ice before that date ... hth

Hi everyone,
Firstly SMITHY! :happyforyou: ****, that is amazing, the biggest congratulations to you and DH, I guess it just shows us all not to POAS too early. And what great numbers, are there two bubbas in there? I will be hanging out for your ultrasound to here what you have got going on in there. You must be over the moon, gosh you guys will have a whole brood, should be call you Angelina and Brad? LOL, congrats again sweety, you so deserve this.
Sara, I am praying with everything I have that your embie is growing and strong, will be looking out for your news and sending you all my best wishes.
WLAB, I see you are on your way for your coming cycle, wishing you all the best, will be cheering you on.
Dutchie, is there any chance you can have your BT results sent to your FS for review before you start your cycle, I know that normally Drs can access a central database they just log in to the pathology I believe. I believe that if it is immune issues you may need to start prednisone treatment earlier than ET. I think with things like Clexane, you normally start from ET. All things aside, if I was you I would be proceeding regardless and making a decision whether to freeze all or start treatment depending. Not sure if this helps.
Possums, glad to see you are going to try the natural way, it has worked for you in the past, and when you get your BFP you can start your treatment. Will be praying for you.
Infinity, how are you going in your TWW, I hope all is ok. Re temps I now temp vaginally, as I was frustrating the hell out of my self doing it orally, vaginally is more accurate and not subject to things like ambient air temps, whether you have been breathing through your mouth etc. I have traditionally low temps on average, average post O temp orally would be around 36.5, vaginally 36.8. I think it is something to do with thyroid underactivity, which I think I have fixed. But I have done heaps of Googling and there are plenty of women who have lower temps and still get UTD. Fingers crossed for you that this cycle is the one.
Hi to Cuddlepie, Lulu, Loula and anyone I have missed. How about we continue Smithy's good luck and get a few more BFPs in here soon. Big hugs
-
Wow so much happens when you are away for a couple of days. I think we should be taking bets on smithy is it one or two. Those numbers are great.
Sara I have my fingers crossed for you, keep going little embie.
Dutchie i cant comment of your testing because I know nothing about them or the possible treatment. But we are planning back to back cycles until Jan next year just to take advantage of the safety net.
AFM - Had my last pregnyl injection on monday so now have my fingers crossed that everything keeps staying the same. My ovaries and boobs are still sore. Funny story (or not) about the injection. Snapped the top of the powder and try as I might could not snap the top of the liquid. Was having all sorts of thoughts running through my head, going to the neighbours but i was in my PJs, going to DH work but how would I keep it cold being that one was open, Thought right I will get dress and go to clinic after I have one more shot at snapping the top off. well I didn't snap the top off I shattered it in my hand so now blood and glass everywhere, but at least I got the injection. The things we go through, but it will be worth it. Having all those doubtful thoughts why would it happen now when it hasnt happened before. Please god this is the time for us.
-
Just a quick post as i am still not home! congrats to smithy! fantastic result after you have been waiting so long. xx best wishes
-
Saph- I so hope this is the time for you. My friend also had trouble snapping her injection on her last cycle and ended up with blood everywhere too.
Infinity- good luck, hope you are doing ok
Dutchie- I personally would go with your start date too...good luck
hello everyone else! hoping for more BFPs soon

Girls,
All your good wishes and vibes must have made a miracle happen – this morning there were two! The one egg that wasn’t fertilized on Tuesday somehow got fertilized and has divided to a 5 cell embryo, it’s of fair quality and has a 30% to 40% chance to keep developing. The other one is a 7 cell embryo which is also of fair quality. This is so much better than expected – we’re still standing!
Will do personals later as at work. Went on antibiotics yesterday as I had developed a very painful UTI, but feeling better today.
A great day to everyone and thanks so much for your support.
Sara

Hi girls,
Sara- That's absolutely great news, go little embies go. Such a great result for you and DP, I'm thrilled for you both.
Thanks for all the replies girls, gosh I honestly thought you would all say to wait so I'm a little surprised really and still not quite sure what to do.
The suggestion to do a 'freeze all' cycle is a great one and something I hadn't even considered. I suppose my reservation with that is my high fsh and the possibility that I could do a cycle and end up with nothing to freeze, I've had nothing to freeze from basically 2 cycles already as first down reg was cancelled. My clinic hasn't seemed very receptive to any of my ideas/suggestions so far so I'm unsure if they would be happy for me to go with that idea anyway.
I'm going to email my FS today and ask about the possibility of tracking down my results a little earlier as BDT suggested thanks :) was thinking that they could possibly have my results in by the 18th, so if FS is able to access those results by the time AF arrives then I would seriously consider starting. If AF arrives a tad early, I have definitely decided to sit this month out however, if she arrives a little late that would be good and make it more possible for me to start this month 'comfortably'.
I guess I'll have to wait and see what FS says after I email her, I really really want to start but I equally want these results before I do start as, depending on what comes up, I may need to be on treatment at the commencement of the cycle or even for a few months in advance. I think I will just play it by ear, thanks again for your input and advice really appreciate it.
:hello: to everyone I will bbl to do some persies.
-
congrats Sara! wtg!
will have lots to post next week! Got the call today to confirm an appointment with a research professor on Tuesday! (doesn't take on clinical patients!) wish me luck, am excited but very nervous she might say it will never happen! next step in journey!

First of all, what a great miracle happening for you Sara...about time I say, hope the two are keep going...
Dutchie, I might just further confuse you but just want to point out something else for you to think about. Some immunological conditions such as NK cell killers need to be treated as soon as FSH starts which means first day of the injection...which of course 'freeze-all' cycle can be an option if you start before the results come. However, I find back to back cycles haven't provide me with great result, from what you said about your past two cycles (no frozen) I think its actually better to wait for one month just to give your body a break, this potentially could help a better result for the upcoming cycle. I personally find that the longer break I had, the better the result it produced. By then, at least you know where you stand with all the information you need. I know its so hard to wait another month but in a grand scheme of things, one month is really nothing especially you don't have the 'clock' ticking loudly hun, you are just a spring chicken...
Loula, best of luck for the appt, this could be exactly what you need, looking forward to the details....

Thanks so much for your perspective CPie, it certainly makes sense.
I did just receive the book 'Is your body baby friendly", I ordered it after I read your posts about getting the book recently thank you, it's certainly a wealth of info and yes your right, depending on what shows up on these tests I may have to commence treatment at the start of the cycle or even a few months before. I was thinking that the 3 month break I've been forced to have essentially since Feb cycle has probably done my body the world of good to have a break from the hormones, EPU procedure, absolute stress of it all, and I guess another months break could only be a good thing in terms of potentially improved results for my next cycle. Your right- a month in the grand scheme of things isn't very long but I do constantly wonder whether my high fsh cancels out my age. This book by Alan Beer is starting to give me a whole new sense of renewed hope though that this dream of mine is actually achievable.
Loula- Best of luck at your appt on tues, look forward to your updates next week.
-
Sara- great news....here's hoping
Dutchie- it's so true, having a break can do your body and state of mind a lot of good.
I am having a break now, rather than back to IVF, and I feel positive about it, even though I am so impatient at the same time!
