I hope today went well Bec :crossfingers:
WLAB, well done on getting back on the IVF train.
Lou I am so sorry things have gone pear shaped for you. I really hope you don't have to consider NY
Dutchie, I saw your blog. I am so sorry it really is so damn frustrating when our bodies don't respond like we want them to. Good news on the new cycle going ahead - an antagonist may be just the thing to get your eggs going.
M2C, just saw your blog too, how exciting things are happening again for you so soon. I was thinking of you on our anniversary date last week .
anyos, that sounds full on with the hospital. Best of luck with it.
Hello to everyone Holly, Possums, Cuddlepie, infinity :hello:
CeCe and I had dinner with Sushee last night who most of you will know was a wonderful mod in the LT area until recently. It was just fantastic to finally 'meet'. It really lifted my spirits and made me realise what a journey I have been on since being on BB. I think I have come so far, and Sush's support was a large part of that. She is just gorgeous.
xx

Bec - very impressive number - well done. Take care of yourself so that next month you can have the transfer!
Dutchie - I've been meaning to mention that I've done a couple of Antagonist cycles - one with Clomid as well plus some other drugs - so if you have any questions let me know.
Dusty - that sounds like a wonderful evening - it's nice to hear about the good things that come out of difficult TTC journeys
Loula - hope you are feeling OK and that your appt with new Monash FS goes well - very curious to hear what you think about FS - note that she is usually dressed like she's going out to the disco after work!
Hi M2C, anyos, WLAB, and the others who I'm sure I missed.
I've been very remiss and haven't been following everyone as well as I should - but I'm picking myself up and will find the energy to get back to personals.
-
Julie, I hope you are looking after yourself  xx
-
Hi everyone, havent been about much still, but wishing you all well
Julie- just read of your sad news...I am so sorry !! Life is really not fair...like you, I had 3 D&Cs in about a 10 month period...so I know, it's just awful, it's just not right you have had to deal with so much. I hope you are doing OK and getting there gradually. Don't feel bad about venting here anytime.
Hugs, Emma

Hey buliej,
just wondering about the clomid why do they use that aswell as fsh jabs and when do you usually start the clomid. All I know is that it's supposed to help getting more eggs. Other than that I'm clueless...how does clomid work exactly?
-
BTW we have a new LT moderator - Lenny! There is a thread about it in the LTTTC/AC area. I know you will all make her very welcome.

Dutchie - I definitely don't have a complete answer, but I'll tell you what I know. Clomid is a completely different formula than the injectibles. It's is designed to stimulate more eggs but in a completely different way...I just don't know what that way is. When Clomid is used alone (without the other drugs) it is not expected to give you more than 2 eggs - I would say 3 is extremely rare. In fact, I have also used Clomid alone as part of a natural cycle and only got 1 egg which wasn't a big surprise to my FS. This time, I used it with the normal ivf eggs and I guess the idea is that it's just another boost to get things happening. I started 100mg Clomid on CD2 for 5 days; started FSH 450 (Puregon) on CD3 and LH (Pregnyl) 20iu every other day starting with CD6 for a total of 3 LH injections. I had to create a spreadsheet to keep track of my drugs as I did the Colorado method on top of all these. After all those drugs, my vitamins, supplements, accupuncture and naturopath, it was pretty disappointing to come out with only 2 fertilized, but I did get pregnant...only to lose it for unrelated reasons.
Hope this helps.
Possums - thanks for your kind words - I know that you too have a lot to deal with.
Lenny - Welcome!
Thanks Dusty...hope you are doing OK...I have a question for you that I'm going to PM.
Hi to everyone else - oooh - Bec - hope you get a great fertilization report. Also, if you don't mind, can you keep us posted with the results of the IVM - I'm curious as to how successful it is.
-
PS - in addition to my spreadsheet, I spent 40 minutes programming event reminders in my mobile so that I wouldn't forget a shot, pill or whatever it was I was suppose to be doing - it was nuts.
-
Hey girls,
Just wanting to thank buliej for that info, it helps to understand why they have suggested clomid.
In Vitro Maturation: Help for Women with High FSH? | High FSH Info
Also I know that you have asked about IVM (like myself) I found this link- its not a study just an article explaining the process and who would be good candidates for it. Seems high fsh/poor responder patients are not good candidates as it requires an excellent stim response and larger #s of eggs. Bit bummed, am thinking of not even asking about it now as it seems it's just not an option for me. I hope it helps.
Yay for me, I finally worked out how to do links!!!
-
yep the link is great
an interesting day for me, met with another FS who is keen to follow me through this and has offered a glimer of hope - so tonight i will live on that.
Hope everyone else is tracking along as they should and look forward to a positive thread.
-
Loula- So glad you have found someone who is going to see this through with you, very reassuring.
-
Welcome aboard lennie.
Looks like i am well and truly on the ohss track, the pain is spreading up into my chest, spent last night vomiting, and having trouble with going to the toilet - fun fun fun. The nausea is the worst thing - i cant concentrate on anything, even going onto the computer is a serious effort. The clinic are going to wait until lunchtime and then make a decision as to whether or not i should be hospitalised. Hopefully it wont get that bad :(
-
Bec please if you are in any doubt go to hospital regardless. That is really worrying.
-
Bec, I could not agree with Dusty more, I hope you are okay
-
Bec, please i also agree. I hope you are not home alone? TBH i hope you are with your FS discussing and monitoring your progress
Thinking of you

sorry for poping in and craching girls but My sister is TTC ATM has pcos and endo, she has just been to a FS in Melb and has been given a scripted for Serophene 50 mg she thought she would be getting clomid so is now unsure if this is the same stuff but with a different name, she has to take them for the next 5 days then they are going to give her a U/S and see if the eggs are in the right place, if nothing is happening then they will up the dose until something works, or something like that, Her home computer is down at the moment and her work has a ban, so asked me to ask BB....
she already had 10 eggs ( sorry dont know all the right terms ) so form the very little I know I said I didnt think she would be on clomid as I thought that was it sole perpose to produce or help produce eggs... I hope that once her computer is up and running she will be able to log on to BB and join your group herself...
Anyway any help would be great as I would hate to give her any wrong infomation...
sorry I hope this is making some kind of sence...
Thanks Tali xx

Hi all...such a busy day and no time for belly belly - can you believe I was expected to do my job!
Anyway, Bec - I hope you are being well taken care of - please don't take any chances. You need to be conservative and take care of yourself so that your body is in the best shape possible when it is time to do the transfer next month.
JBM - "hi" - hopefully I'll be cycling with you.
GTF - I hope someone here can provide some guidance - I don't have experience with endo or pcos myself.
Loula - hope you are doing well....
Dusty - hi to you and thanks for that info
AFM - absolutely no bleeding or spotting...really looks like d&c #3 will be scheduled on Monday.
