    Hi Hope

there are so many other ways to cycle! and everyine responds so differently! out of four stims for me two were full down regs and i couldnt bare them! didnt have any raised HCG with any of thoses batches either! - maybe thats just in my head!

The other two one was flare no pill just spray and the last was antagnist, no pill no spray, i had raised HCG with all embies tF after these two cycles they just didnt stick around, but i hope we have found the problem now x

Hope .. Originally when I went to FS, she gave me a script for the "pill" - ie full down reg cycle, hubby being a mans man.. said grrr we dont need ivf.... to cut a long story short, when I did go back to officially start IVF, she skipped the pill, and said she didnt want to waste time (for me), I think her comment was age related... I have read some info on BB as to why they give you the pill first, and I am pretty sure it's b/c they want to control your hormones...

My first IVF was an antagonist, and that is straight into inj on day 3 - however I did have a scare with an LH surge, so I think this is why, they have decided to go with the Flare, being that you either sniff or inject a hormone, to stop any lh surge or early ovualtion....

Loula - do you mind me asking what the problem was that you found ?

No at worry - if you look back in all my post you will prob find it anyway.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when i was in my early teens. didn't have af for nearly 6 month once! Then after my ectopic in 2002 they discovered fluid on both my tubes due to them being blocked! there is evidence to suggest that one small hydro can cause MC i had two huge whoppers! but my FS was happy to continue with IVF after all that is what it is designed for (tubal issues). But due to the recurrent MC we decided that enough was enough and i had both tubes removed in November! and feel so much better for it

After 5 surgeries 11 ivf cycles im hoping we HAVE found the problem...... and fixed it

WLAB I do remember vaguely FS saying that he wanted to control my hormone levels hence the down reg I guess, but I will be asking the question for sure. I really hate the down reg it feels like such a waste of time (no matter the reasons).

Loula I hope this is your year too. Raised HCG is great. I had that with my second last FET. Which IVF clinic are you at?

Loula! I didn't know the complete history of yours, hunny, this is gonna be your year since the problems have been removed!!! So is it fair to say that this will be your first try after the surgery? Wow, I can smell BFP!

MsPinky pants, so good to see you here! well, I can't believe what I've put myself through so far either, but hey man (or woman) gonna do what (s)he has to do...as much as I don't want to, I think I will keep going until bank is cleaned! Hope Monday B/t will give you a green light to start!

I have been playing on Fertility Friend charting just now, yeah I know after TTC for this long, I only just thought about it...I have been charting manually and just put a couple of charts in, there is one month we completely miss the target, Hopefully this month we have better luck, but natural cycle is really a long short for us, it never happens in all these times, well at least we had fun...

For all other ladies, let's get cracking, 2009 will bring us a lot of BFP, I know it!

Thanks CP - although sometimes it sound too good to be true! and after 5 years of TTC with IVF, you never know what is around the corner! i feel better in myself ATM, but once the cycle begins i turn into a negative *****. lol

With regards to FF - im hopeless!! i tried charting and kinda loved it (not the early starts on the weekend lol) but just not too handy with the computer! TBH i tend to think what the point in charting when most of my cycles have been medicated! although i tend to temp during my TWW - gives me something to do and whenever my temps have been up ive got a BFP so it can be an early indication for me. although doesn't help the wait, and my FS just tells me that its the drugs that im taking, i usually sit around 35.6 ish so not that high anyway, unless i can smell a bfp! lol them im up 37+.

MrPink - i agree - great name! Have you changed it? i think i have seen you around? oops just seen your sig lol. I love the number 10 its one of my favourites with number 12 (cause of my Bday) Great to know that your cycle has begin, i get so excited even when friends have started. lol

WLAB - great no pill! Im sure my FS said that sometimes with a long down reg women's ovaries dont always 'wake' from their sleep so that is another good reason to not do pill.

Everyone is talking about Lucrin! i guess it is like the spray? am i right?

Holly, Mel, Hope, and all lurkers! Hi

    Hi Hope,
This is my first post so hope I get it right. I had long cycle first time, and then a short cycle "boost" cycle second time. The short cycle was soo much better. it seems that they are more likely to do it for older girls, but I suspect you just have to be regular. (me 41)

I don't know yet how to put history in. I've had 5 biochemicals last year out of 6 cycles, mainly frozen and am interested to find anyone who has had success after this sort of thing. I also have treated thyroid underactive. Please let me know if I am in the wrong place as bit confused about where to start.
    Cheers

Hi Samandpoppy! you are most welcome here!

Biochemical pg are so hard! Ive had 4 with IVF and each time i feel a little closer, and harder to deal with when the bleeding finally starts or the nurs etells me 'it's not good!' we havent made it to a scan yet other than my ectopic.

As already posted - i am hopping that we have now fixed the reason why we are looosing our babies so early, but there would be a million reasons out there! Have you had further testinng? there is a thread with regards to implantaion failure i will try to work out how to post a link

    Thanks so much Loula,
It seems I've had every test under the sun. have had ANA's ATA's thrombophillia etc. I think there is something going on with my thyroid issue as I have daughter 2.5 years, who was realtively easy IVF conception, but since then been trying for year and half for #2 but no result.
Getting down in dumps about it as seem to be keeping doing same thing with same result.
Have been doing heaps of research on net about thyroid antibodies after my naturopath said yes they can kill off embryos! why didn't she tellme that a year ago!!! The FS (on to my second one now and going for an opinion from a third one next week) was initially all on about my age etc, but now I have pointed out that 5 in a row is not really that great and perhaps there is something else we should consider, he suggests low dose aspirin for the next cycle (which seeems to have good anecdotal evidence. anyway I have so much to get off my chest that I should hold a bit back for fear of flooding the thread!!!!
If someone could tell me how to put the signature thingy at the bottom of my post, woudl really appreciate that!
    Cheers
