Hi Luvs,
Hope everyone is well.
Just to let you know we are heading off for the long weekend so no internet. For those that have the long weekend I hope you enjoy also, so will be in touch next week. Good luck to the ladies that are growing their eggies. Those waiting for AF I hope she comes. And for the rest of us waiting for our next stim cycle in Feb - BRING IT ON I say....
Cheers Hope
Have a nice w/e Hope
AFM - feeling pretty down about it all today. My follies are going great guns with massive growth over 2 days despite the lowered FSH. I now have about 16 between 12-18mm with most 14-16mm.
My lining, however is terrible - left the u/s in tears over it. Hasn't changed at all in past 2 days and barely at all since first scan.
I have never fallen pg with a lining under 6mm and currently at 4.7mm. Mind you, last cycle was my best ever reaching 7mm and I didn't get pg so who knows if that played any part in previous failures.
Bless my nurse, she knew i would be worried o had already talked to my FS. They are not happy with lining but don't really have any more tricks left to help. Going to try vaginal progynova( oestrogen) but not holding any hope since my E2 is 7000 so doubt adding any more is going to make any difference. They are holding off EPU until tues to try and give it some more time. At least all my follies will be of great maturity ( prob better than last time) but really thinking if it hasn't thickened at all yet, that it prob won't change. I think the chances of getting pg with thin lining is pretty slim and I am sooooooo worried as to why and if it can ever be better. Not much point getting great eggs and embryos if there is no oven in which to bake them. Sorry to be a sad sack but really feeling my dreams slipping further and further away today.
Hugs to you Meredith. I might be wrong but i think i have heard of the little blue pills (Viagra) can help women to build a lining. i think i read this in a UK paper a while ago? will look and google to be sure, and get back to you. x i guess one thing to think about is to go ahead with EPU and hope to fertilise and frees all embies. Then in your next cycle you can concentrate on getting your lining just right. Have you used ap or herbs to help with this? I hope your FS can assist you with getting a positive result soon and start to help you feel a little less stressed with this.
Hope - have a wonderful weekend away, wish i was going somewhere the weather will be beautiful, have fun!
Sam - cant help you with the quick reply button!GL
Its getting a bit quiet in her of late but i guess everyone is making the most of the weather and spending time getting over the silly season! and tired from being back at work!
Have fun and will catch up with you all soon. x
Oh Meredith you poor thing..
Let's look at the bright side...you are doing so brilliantly with the follies - honestly, something that would certainly make me happier as I have the complete opposite problem.
My lining is always great, but so far can only see 4 follies.
My likelyhood of getting embies to the freezer is almost zero, where as you have a huge chance of getting several - hence not going thru another cycle for some time.
I know it is devastating for you... but I guess where we sit right now... we need to look at the positives.. well at least I try to.
In saying that - I really hope they are able to help you increase you lining.. thinking of you and hoping very much it all ends up well.
For those of you in Sydney - how bad is it here today??? Sooooooo hot!!!
Hope you're all enjoying the weekend.
Meredith - my heart goes out to you. Its bad enough that we all have to go through this horrendous journey called IVF but then on top of all that there are added hurdles along the way. It really is not fair! Mu best friend is having similar issues at the moment and i am trying to help her through it. She is doing a FET and when she went for day 12 scan the progynova had done nothing so they then put her on Estrogen patches for a week only to have heartbreak again when the lining was still no good.
Like others have said, hopefully you will be able to get lots of awesome frozen bubs out of this and focus on getting a beautiful lining for a FET.
Thanks ladies for your kind words. I know you all understand the heartbreak of your body failing to do what its meant to.
Sadly, my lining has never been the best so am on EVERYTHING known to help. And yes Loula, that includes viagra. Does not work orally so at great cost have to have it compounded into pessaries.
Strange thing is that last cycle, which was the first time i tried it, my lining was the best ever. Doing same thing this time and no luck. Wondering if last cycle would have been that way regardless and my body just does whatever it likes no matter what drugs, E2 levels etc.
I also can't really grasp to hard at the frostie aspect. from 14 embies last cycle, I had none to freeze so certainly not very hopeful about that option. At this point, I would probably prefer to just go with ET and pray for a miracle.
Stupid darn body!!!
MsPink - I'll trade you some of my embies for a bit of your lining....put us together and we might make a perfectly fertile woman! Do you know when EPU will be yet?
Hey lovely Meredith..
Ahhh - if only we could mesh the good stuff and each of us come out perfect!!
I have another BT and scan tomorrow morning but am pretty sure they will go fishing Wednesday..but will know for sure tomorrow. What about you Ms M??
So tell me..is it true what they say about women and Viagra??
Hi everyone..Happy Australia Day for tomorrow..
MsPink - EPU tomorrow at 11.30am for me. Hope your scan today showed some better growth in there.
Don't know what the viagra was meant to do for me but can't say it did anything...not even what it was supossed to do!! Oh, just a big mess with the pessaries...... far worse than even progesterone ones.
Meredith all the best for EPU tomorrow. xx
Oh Meredith I am sorry to read about your lining not doing her thing.
How did you go with your EPU ? fingers x?ed for some lovely healthy eggies.
MsPink how did your scan go. Are they going fishing (as you put it LOL)?
AFM ? has a great long weekend away down at Blairgowrie, it was just fab.
Hi to everyone else :)
Cheers
Hope
Ms Meredith - hope all went well today and you are feeling ok.. ewww and talking about pessaries..FS is getting me to do these again (I hate them!!!) after several cycles of Pregnyl. Yuk!! Also means I cant get up early and go for a walk.. as no time to do everything.
Hope - glad you enjoyed your time away.. Unfortunately it looks like I have only good 4 good follies so we shall see. yes - egg fishing is tomorrow morning at 7.30am... ahhh have to get up so early..Will let you know how I go..
Lulu: just dropping in to send you :goodluck: for tomorrow.
Sara
Sorry but will have to keep this brief as feeling pretty low and awful at the end of this very looooong day.
Got 23 eggs!!!! Don't know where some of those came from since my last scan. I know most of you would think this is fabulous but we almost halved my FSH dose this time to AVOID this many eggs as my FS thought that may have affected quality. And I end up with MORE than last time ( 21 last cycle)
Feeling MUCH worse physically - was at the hosp all day to try and control pain. Now feeling faint and ill from the pain relief. To add to that, my lining is defnitely no better, perhaps even worse ( don't know how that happens?). So more progynova although I really don't see the point as my E2 levels must be through the roof already. Another scan friday. Will likely still do ET given poor success with freezing but i don't hold out much, if any hope
This journey is just getting harder and harder and I just don't know what to do next. I am no where near ready to give up but don't know how much more I can put myself through if there is always such bad results. I just need some hope back but struggling to find any.
MsPink - sorry about low follie numbers ( you are welcome to some of my eggies!). Hope they are at least all good ones for you tomorrow
Hi Guys,
Back after long weekend and bit of migraine yesterday.
Meredith - you poor love. really not fair. Know the feeling of not being ready to give up.
Had marathon "IVF uni" session last mon with appts with 2 FS and Np.
Most useful thing came out with was that in colarado, it is recommended that you have sex night before ET. I decided to try it every time, even with this one little FET. DH was happy to oblige.
Got a photo of embie, and the printer was playing up so it was blue background instead of the usual yellow, and or course think that may be a good sign. Now in TWW.
Not that hopeful as am just doing this FET with asprin, to be able to say to FS OK that didn't make any difference, what do we do next to imporve embryo quality, etc
Hope you all have great rest of week
PS my quote problem is now solved
Meredith - so sorry you're feeling so bad. Am very much hoping all these little eggies do well and surprise you. Let me know how they are doing..
SnP - all the best with the TWW...very much hoping Ms M and I join you in about 5 days.
AFM - only got 4 eggies and am hoping they are outstanding...
:hello:hi girls just wanted to say hi and let you all know im lurking on you all and ill be back soon to join you all with my fet
good luk to you all i hope next time i come in there has been heaps of BFPs:crossfingers:
S&P - yay at having embie on board. Praying the DTD trick does the trick, so to speak. When is your BT?
Lulu - praying for those 4 little eggies to be doing there thing tonight and producing wonderful embies. What day will you be doing ET?
AFM - of the 23 eggies, 13 have fertilised so far. Apparently they are still watching 7. Is prob about the result I expected given at last scan i should have only had about 15-16 mature eggies. So presuming those fertilised came from them and the remainder likely just immature eggies that popped up at last minute. Much on a par with last cycle so far ( 14 embies from 21 eggs).Still feleing physically and emotionally far less than ordinary but have become resigned today. Not much more I can do to change anything. We will almost certainly still proceed to ET on Sun as I just can't not at least try but will be defnitely very practical and try and plan for the next step. Thanks for those trying to be positive about my lining but I do not like to live with false hope and there is very little chance it will change in the next few days
Hi Loula,
Which farmers market did you go to, I love those.
Also - I found the solution to my quote problem, I didn't realise i had to log in.........derrrrr.....felt really blonde then (not just pretend)...
Also I worked out how to start a new thread and so have started one for Thryoid issues. So proud!!!
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...id-issues.html
I am still a mental basket case and I am sure the heat isn't helping!
Scan today as expected. No change in lining which is what i anticipated but still guts me. Nothing more they can do and have left me to decide on ET or not. Will defnitely be proceeding ( as long as we have something) as I can't face not at least giving it a go. Plus they can't ever say I wouldn't get pg with thin lining but defnitely can't if i don't transfer.
My dilema right now is...... if we have more than one blast on Sun and they say one ( or more) is suitable for freezing then do i freeze the best, guaranteed frostie, knowing it might give me another chance on a (hopefully) better cycle, and put back anything else that may not make freeze or do i pick the strongest that might stick it out despite thin lining.
At this stage I am inclined to think i would request freezing any definite potential frostie so its perhaps not wasted on what seems to be a dud cycle but still give anything else the chance of a fresh transfer. What do you girls think?
Oh and so far at day 3 we still have 13embies. One already compacting. The others b/n 7-10 cells. Sounds great but this is much the same as last cycle and things began to really fizzle in th last 2 days
Gosh Meredith,
Yes the heat isn't helping. you poor darlin'. not good for sleep either.
How about not making the decision until you know what you have got to work with. ie at 11am on Sunday, or when ever they call you. some space/ time and actively not decide yet helps. you will know what to do then.
I've never gone to 5 days, so don't know about that particular form of mental torture. My friend always did that and she insisted on having 2 blasts put back, and got preg with 1. She never got any to freeze. I never had any luck with Fresh ETs, only with frozen. Lot of luck with first one, not so much recently!
AFM - in TTW, not hopeful, but not unhopeful either. 1 week down, 1 to go.
Have been reading up in what to do next, ie if preg, what drugs can support it, eg progesterone, HCG, on asprin already, if not what to take next to improve egg quality, not sure is Luveris would be helpful for me, but will ask FS when see him on Wed. Am going to make plan for either way. I'm good with a plan, even if the plan is "make a plan next wednesday"
Meredith - a hard decision. I can only give you my opinion and here it is.. If your embies are good and freezable and you know the endo is bad, I would freeze. I don't think I could put in a good embie if I knew it had little hope..again my opinion because I don't have much luck with getting anything to freeze these days. I know some people say that you have more chance from a fresh then a frozen but I (and I think my FS) think its balony. I got PG on a frozen and never on a fresh like SamnPoppy..
If they don't think the embies are good enough for freezing - then go for it as you have nothing to lose.
I am sure it is a very tough decision for you but I am sure you will make the right one for you.
SamandPoppy - all the best with the TWW. Did you do a FET? Very much hoping I join u Monday.
AFM - day 3 today and I have 2x8 and 2x6 cells. I am living in hope they will do what they are supposed to do so I can have ET Monday. Day 4 usually gets a little scary with the embies.
hope the rest of you wonderful ladies are well and enjoying the weekend.
Hi guys - feeling a bit sick today, had Pregnyl inject last night and wonder if that. May just be Tacos though!
Ms Pink - did you have test for NK cells? I tried searching but couldn't find
Was just wondering because you talk a lot about antibodies etc. My FS tests patients after repeated IVF failure. I think he is probably the most knowlegable with this stuff. If people have these NK (natural killer) cells, they are usually put on a Prednisone etc protocol. The test involves a very detailed BT and a biopsy taken from the Uterus around day 22 of the cycle.
here are some sites to look at:
NK Cells in Pregnancy: IVIG therapy reduces the incidence of miscarriage
Reproductive Immunology and Fertility Treatment
Hi everyone...haven't been on the net for a few days and there's so much going on in here.
Fingers x'ed for the TWW.
Hi Meredith, gosh you poor luv. How have you been the last couple of days. From reading the posts I would tend to agree with MsPink, and that is if your embies are good and freezable and you know the endo is bad, I would think about freezeing the better ones. And yes there is still always hope that something can happen if a ET has taken place.
MsPink how are you travelling, are you having your ET on Monday?
AFM - AF came early which I am happy about as it means we can start our cylce earlier. So start the pill Wednesday and wait for further details of when to stat synarel. I am so ready for this cycle, very hopeful that I get some really good eggies - a couple to put back as embies and some to go into the freezer. Wow not asking much am I !!!!!
Chat soon
Hope
Hi all
Meredith - hang in there love. have been thinking of you over the weekend.
Hope - gald that af showed for you too.
MsP - woohooo TFering soon GL cant wait to join you in the tww!
sorry i haven't updated any of you for a while - i umed and ared about posting TBH as i get scared that i jinx myself - lol
AF arrived about 12 days ago and wasn't around for very long! i used ap to bring it on. so gave the clinic a call and had my frist US on Thursday, which as suspected showed nothing! so going back on Tuesday for another scan to see if i have O'd.
Silly i know but not holding onto much hope for this cycle as im using frozen embies from 2006 batch which are day 2 and have never had raised HCG from! If they thaw :crossfingers::pray:we are trying to do a natural cycle but my PCOS is going nuts at the moment as my diet has been terrible! too much cake and wine over Christmas and the New Year. I have stacked on 8kg all up now! my BB are sore all the time and i had the worst PMT before af finally came. eeerrrrr!
Just got back from a lovely weekend away so will try to catch up on where everyone had been at.
Hope - glad AF was good for once and arrived when she was wanted. Praying this is the "one" cycle for you.
Loula - silly ovaries not doing what they are supposed to. Lets hope next scan shows something more exciting
Lulu - praying yo have something good for ET tomorrow. Will be thinking of you
AFM - we have 2 blasts on board. The clinic had pretty much made the choice before i even got there, to put the 2 best ones in. Discussed it with embryologist and she said that they don't freeze straight away - still watch them for a bit so still no guarantee that even the best would even be frozen. Dr also thought I sould just go with ET as per "normal" regardless of lining. Monash IVF has VERY, VERY strict freezing criteria and given none frozen from my last cycle, guess wouldn't want to lose something that still could stick as a fresh transfer, despite my bad feeling. We have 2 other early blasts so just praying maybe at least one makes it to freeze
Not 100% sure I am happy with the decision kind of made for us but I am also a bit relieved to have someone else just make it for me this time. I am bit tired of all the mental stress of all this stuff so it really was a weight lifted to just do what "i was told" for once.
I also feel better after asking my Dr if i can go straight into another cycle if i get AF in another 10 days. If we have any frosties then will do FSH OI / FET cycle ( rather than HRT given i don't cycle naturally). If no frosties then may do a few IUI cycles as I think my body needs the more "natural" cycling rather than huge stim of IVF , then crash to nothing on a month off when my body does nothing on its own
Anyway, the TWW madness will begin shortly I am sure!
Hi Lulu,
Just dropping in to send you :goodluck:, thinking of you.
Sara
Lulu, best luck for ET today sweetie. Guess what, mine is on 5th Feb. We will be TWW buddies again. I hope this time, both of us will have better luck.
Hi Lovelies,
Thanks for all your good wishes and support.
I was sooooo hopeful that my embies were doing so well. They got to morula but by day 5 still not blastie. Yup am very bummed. Had the 2 put in and knew the other 2 wouldnt make it for freezing - as confirmed today.
Am trying to hold my head up and stay positive - but man it's hard.
CP - am very happy you're joining me..and hope your wishes for both of us come thru.
Hi girls, just lost my post, will get back later, family coming for dinner. TWW doing head in. BT thurs, no hopeful, no symptoms.
Best best luck for those with "embies on board" and starting cycles.
Lulu - of so sorry no blast darl. Parying that the two in you just a touch slow but may still make it. This trip is just hell and you have lived it far harder than many. Parying the TWW treats you ok
S&P - Oly oe more day for BT. You can do it!! Are you going to do HPT?
Still another week until BT for me sot rying not to read anything into what I feel/don't feel. Don't trust my body at all on all these drugs
Meredith - please to "hear" you sound a bit better. goodluck for BT
Sara69 - I will prob do antagonist next, maybe we will go together
Hope - taking dad to sorrento, I love it down there, esp the view of the boatsonthe water as you drive through blairgowrie
Ms P - good luck with them on board, hopefuly they will be much more comfy and go like crackers
Cp = hope ET goes great today, good sticky luck
Loula - good luck w frostie, you never know. Am feeling my overindulgence, fat, flabby, frumpy and > 40. Still I have good hair, so thats redeeming.
MelBel - Hi, how are you going? Is it hot in Langwarrin too?
MummaW - Hi, thanks for posting in thyroid thread! Am quite chuffed about it, like mother hen.
Smithy - hi, good luck w FET!
Mollygirl - Hi, hope you are going well. Good luck for FET.
BW - thanks for encouragement, always nice to see your posts.
AFM - Of course I did POAS! can never resist. was negative. I got a heap of tests from pregnow, so cheap. The Neg kind of cushioned the fall as I didn't expect anything from this one originally, but you get your hopes up. HCG = 4, BFN.
Also I am taking my Dad away for the weekend and very apprehensive. He has early onset alzeheimers and seems to be going down hill v fast. Heartbreaking, as if my heart could take anymore. So sad to watch.
Another biochemical. Shi!t. Am feeling really sad this morning. Does anyone know anyone who has had heaps of biochemicals like me and went on to success. I could really use a cheer up story right now.
S&P - Sorry is no enough for how you are feeling today. It just all really sucks!! With your dad on top of TTC I am not suprised if you are a bit of a mess. I hope you have someone with you today who can be a shoulder to lean on... you need it!
Wish I could give some stories re chemical pgs but i don't personally know any. However i am sure they are out there!!
I am wondering, however how an HCG of 4 can be considered chemical pg. Anything below 5 is considered 0 at my clinic and some women will just have some low levels floating around even when nothing to do with TTC. I know i quite often have a "baseline" level around 2-4 when i defnitely can't be pg.
Have you got an appt wit FS to discuss all this soon?
S&P - I'm so sorry about the BFN. It sucks and nothing (esp experience) makes it any easier.
All I can say right now is - thank goodness for good hair!!!'
Enjoy the weekend with your Dad. It must be horrendous for you to watch him now. Hopefully as he is in the early stages, you will get some quality time with him.
Take care sweetie..
Hi Meredith - yeah it probably wasn't a biochemical, being a bit dramatic. I am coming to thinking that the most likely problem is the most ordinary one, ie egg/ embryo quality. Saw FS last week and he reckons I still have good chance.
Ms Pink - thanks for your message, made sure I ducked out and got blow dry at Sorrento too!!
AFM - feeling much better this week, have started antagonist cycle, with lower FSH to avoid OHSS this time. Weekend with Dad went so much better than I expected. He was great and I even got a sleep in while he and DD had a play. Dad is soooo much better without Mum around, he gets a bit muddled but is good comapny and we didn't do much. I only turned into Mum once (very scary, got to watch that) and nagged him, but then I was big enough to apologise, and then next day we made a joke of it. Was nice to hang out with him. We were all in a bit of shock with the news about the bushfires here, and continue to be every time the news is on. Appreciating life right now.
S&P - so glad you enjoyed your Daddy bonding weekend...and soooo glad you had a good hair day..
Just wanted to let you lovelies know that I got AF 3days early... so failure once again for me..
Ms P - bugger, you poor thing, so unfair. thinking of you
