FET been changed to HRT! feeling very, very low.
don't know how many more times i can do this.
Oh Loula sweetie - I think we are about even...and man is it hard. Everytime I 'do it again' I say the same thing. I really feel for you.
I just can't give up yet, I almost wish I could. I don't have much time left and this is now out of my control..but while FS will let me..I'll keep going..
You need to do what you feel is right for you..
If you ever want to vent or need to spill..am here for you anytime..or via PM..
Hang in there L..
 Lou. I hope you have the strength to face this latest hurdle. Let me/us know if there is anything we can do.
Thinking of you. xx
hi, I've just started my 3rd ivf cycle - can anyone recommend a practitioner of chinese medicine/acupuncture in Melbourne? I've been to a clinic in East Melbourne but it's just way too hard to book an appointment and get in to see them when I need to...
I sort of gave up on the acupuncture while i was doing iui last year. I figure I might give it a go again...
Hi Loula - your poor love, know exactly the feeling of giving up, you will know. I am getting close, 42nd birthday in June is my cut off date (at the moment).
I don't know what HRT is but doesn't sound good. what happened lovely?
Muppet show - Bill or Serena Wong at Murumbeena Accupuncture, 95632236 (don't know if I am supposed to put phone number here) keep trying, make take few calls to get them. Serena is Bills daughter and great too.
Warning: * Self absorbed Post *
In this rainy day, it seems perfect to have a 'self-pity' party at home for me. I just don't know why 'having a baby' is so hard. My embie seems perfect and everything is perfect but its just not happening for me!!! Trying very hard to stay positive, just trying to distract myself with 'future planning's' if this is another dud cycle.
FS said if this cycle fails will investigate the fibroid I had on the uterine cavity which might cause implantations. So a laps might be needed. This also depresses me...just seems never ending hurdles. :wall: I am closed to give up too loula...
ah yes, birthday last week is not helping! I just reluctant to change my sig. I thought if I don't change it, it is not happening.
Oh well, spend w/d at blue mountain and hopefully when I come back, will be a more pleasant human being to be around.
Hi Laides,
sorry I haven't been around I've been totally absorbed by the horror with the bush fires. Totally busy at wok so not getting much internet time either.
I'm sorry to read that a few of you have been doing it tough. I have been thinking of you and and of course hoping that it changes for the better and start going your way.
No news with me really. Have started down reg as mentioned. I decided to take the pill in the monring this cycle and that was a bad mistake as its making me feel very nauseous. Which is something I guess I would usually sleep thru had I stuck to taking it at night.
Anyway start synarel next week...yuk!
PS I cant seem to find 'My Mood' anyone have any suggestions...I did have it now its gone!!!!
Chat soon
bye for now
Hope
Hi grrrrls,
CP - know the feeling of being down in the dumps, get it right out on here. As my bridesmaid used to say, "Keep your chins up" I loved that. The TWW is a brain strain. it works for you. It is such a rollercoaster.
Hope - sorry you feeling , I was finding the baby asprin made me feel a bit sick in morn, but better after food. Can you migrate it to taking at night again? maybe ask the nurses?
Loula - still thinking of you. It will change and will get better. Big hug.
Ms Pink - how you going love?
Dusty - hi nice to hear from you.
Meredith - when is your BT? How are you going in TWW?
sara69 - are you cycling?
BriggsyG - hope all going along smoothly with your bump!
Hi to ButterflyW :hello: Gargy MelBel :crossfingers: MummaW :nahnah: Muppetshow :crossfingers: Smithy Mollygirl :hooray: WouldloveaB Sorry if I missed you.
AFM - struggling a bit as feeling blah. have been staying up late watching fires news as if my vigil could make a difference, which is not good for cheeriness. A friend from NY sent me a mail yesterday about it which was nice. in middle of antogonist, good, goes fast, and have lots of follicles, and lining good. I am good responder according to FS, just not good sticker - so far. Am not sure whether to be pleased or not as we were aiming for fewer, but hopefully, better quality embies. EPU next week Wed or Fri.
Have put on weight and not happy about it, where is that magic pill when you need it aye. Went to pilates this morn, so at least have done something! Must stop eating everything not nailed down. I even resorted to DD's sultanas last night.
Things to be thankful for: I am so thrilled to have a new BF. Never thought it would happen. We met through mother's group and just love each other. She is now preg and am very pleased for her.
Also DH has just fininished a house he has been working on for a year and so has magically turned nice again (was v grumpy and tired all last year - no fun). Back to lovely again, how about that!! :leap:
Hello to everyone and sending lots of love and positive thoughts to all who are currently cycling. And to those who are in between cycles hope you are managing to stay sane while passing the time.
I have only been popping in every few days or so as I was getting a little too BB obsessed.
AFM - well after what felt like the longest 2 weeks of my life i finally had my day 14 scan this morning and everything seem to be fine so i am all booked in for transfer on Friday. Feeling very excited and confident about this transfer - not sure why just a feeling i have. We are definately going to transfer 2 this time which is exciting as well.
Anyone else on track to have a transfer around this time???
S&P - in ansa to your question about Ms Meredith...well I guess she hasn't been in here of late..but allow me to advise her brilliant news that she is UTD...she is a happy lady.
Am so glad you have lots of follies..all the best sweetie..I'll be watching out for your EPU.
P.S - pleeeese let me know about the magic pill when you find it..!!!
Mollygirl - all the best for transfer - hope you have some super embies cooking..
Hope - can't help the mood thing I'm afraid..have no idea where they have moved it to.
CP - cheer up buddy. The weather sure does nothing to perk up our mood does it. Hope you're enjoying your weekend away.
Loula - hope you're doing better honey.. this road certainly doesn't get any easier for us.
AFM - trying to pick myself up from the floor after yet another disappointment. Back to FS next week and I guess yet 'another' down reg..I am not throwing in the towel yet!! (but man it's hard..)
Hi girls,
Very grey up heres has been raining for the last week and last night I actually had the heater on for a short while, brrr
Lulu - you doing amazingly well - good luck for your FS appointment.
S&P - Great thar Dh has cheered up again and that your follies are doing well, gl for your EPU. I may start cycling next week, waiting for AF which is due at the end of next week.
Mollygirl: :goodluck: for transfer
Hope: sorry that you ar not feeling so well, hope Synarel will go better.
CP

Huge congrats to Meredith wow we luv happy stories they keep us all going.
No news here apart from havng started synarel, geez that tastes terrible. No side effects yet as its too early.
Will get back into the swing of getting in here more often next week.
Chat soon and hope all have a good weekend.
Cheers Hope
Hi girlies,
Wow -big congrats to Meredith - how fantastic :leap:
Ms Pink- thanks for that and keep your chins up love, I know its hard.
Hope - yeah to be getting on with it and good luck.
Molly girl - I reckon 2 at a time is the best, best of luck for yesterday. I feel you really have a great chance with the tube issue resolved now.
Sara69 - wish you a swift AF and good start to cycle. :)
Baby dust to all of you. CuddleP - Dusty - Hope - Loula - MelBel - MummaW - Muppetshow - Smithy - WouldloveaB
AFM - started to develop symptoms of OHSS on Monday, even with lower dose FSH, then reduced the FSH dose and was alright (though put on 2-3kgs hopefully mostly fluid but fear not all).
Scan on Wed revealed a bunch of grapes, about 25 on one ovary and couldn't see the other well. FS said if I was younger he would cancel the cycle! great. Felt cra!pola on Thurs, hardly move, then EPU on Fri morn. Was aiming for about 10 eggs with lower dose. Felt really bad Fri aft/ evening. This is mild OHSS, so can't imagine how bad bad is.
Got 32 eggs, 30 were mature, FS is amazed, apparantly have ovaries of 16 year old (shame I feel 103). ANd so why doesn't it bloody work!!
FS wants me to miss this cycle to recover, and freeze all that fertilise at D3 and then thaw and grow some to D5 next month. Don't know how that works. I wanted to grow all to D5 so only the best survive. But apparantly D5 don't thaw as well as D3. Am very disappointed as I think (don't know if true, maybe I made that up) that OHSS reduces quality of embryos. Must ask again. Would rather chuck out the lot and do another stim if it is going to mean months of FETs and no result.
Feel bit better this morn. Waiting to find out how many fertilised. Maybe I will feel well enough by Mon to have a ET this week, will have to see. jsut found out that 12 fertilised out of 29. I think that is good?
Where is that crystal ball when you need it?
Oh yes - TTBTF (things to be thankful for - my own acronym invention). bit of struggle today.
Good hair. Having ovaries. New skirt. Warm weather. Will go and paint toenails and maybe buy flowers to make self feel better.
S&P, OHSS does reduce the quality of embryos, but it doesn't mean you can't get pregnant from those embryos. I know of a number of women with nasty OHSS after a fresh transfer who have ended up with fantastic pregnancies. My first two stim cycles were freeze all cycles with OHSS... I got pregnant from my first FET with one of those embryos - I later miscarried, but it wasn't because of the embryo or the OHSS - it was because we didn't know what medications I needed to take to stay pregnant.
Have been offline for a bit while moving. Hope all has been well in my absence.
BW
Sam - way to go girl!!!!!!! What an amazing, outstanding result.... for 41 that is just brilliant..I hope all those wonderful eggies fertilised and are behaving.
Really hope you're feeling better. Glad you only had mild OHSS. My friend had it pretty bad a few months ago and she was one sick puppy - in hospital for days. Really hope you've turned the corner..thinking of you..
Sam congratulations on your result - wonderful news and a wise move to freeze all IMO!
S&P wow what a great OPUof 30 and yes absolutely 12 fertilising is great. Hope you are starting to feel better now.
Meredith – hope you are travelling well and your brilliant news is sinking in after such a hard time. Let us know how you’re going.
Molly girl - I think two’s good as well, I always go two if I have the ‘stock’ there. Good luck.
Hi to everyone else Ms Pink, CuddleP, Loula, MelBel and all the other girls
Hi BW - thanks for your insight, I was wondering if you knew of anyone who had success after OHSS. You are such an inspiration. I hope little DS is letting you get some sleep.
Hope your move went well, and you are happily ensconsed in new pad, and that your phone number stays secret for a while so you can have a break!
MsPink - think I am still on the corner not turned yet. Feel a smidgen better today. So painful, can't imagine how bad a bad case is. thanks for your thoughts, yeah not a bad result for nearly 42.
Loula - hope you are doing well, skipping out to your markets and having good time. Yes now has sunk in that better to freeze all. worst is I can't even eat much to pass the time!
Hope - thanks, it is good I s'pose. Did you start your cycle yet? Yes I always go 2 now, to get through them quicker to find a good one.
AFM - What really was upsetting me if it is all a waste and just have to start again, losing 2 months in the process. Feel a bit reassured. But now am coming to terms with waiting a month, and can always have all of them thawed (I guess about 8 will make it to freeze) and grown to D5 and just use the best 2 of them. They reckon 20% make it, so that might work. The worst for me would be to have a heap of low quality ones in freezer and spend another year like last year. urk.
TTBTF - I lost my wallet on Wed, wasn't there when I went to pay for lunch , and 2 hours later a lovely copper called and they had it, someone had handed it in intact. Bless.
Muppet - i hope you got my message re ap? i can give you more details if you need them
S&P - HRT is hormone replacement therapy! (yes the same thing they give to menopausal women) i think this is to help build up the lining so the embie can get a chance to stick. It makes me very emotional as usually with IVF they give you double dose! then when P4 get thrown into the mix watch out! lol dont think that it is a waste of time to wait out a while, i have had several TF cancelled due to possible OHSS and infestion. and the following cycle got a BFP! rest you body. wonderful news about you purse too!
CP - hold you head up hun. when is your appointment?
Molly - how you holding out in the TWW - are you going to POAS? i am hehehe
MsP - is your FS open to try new things for your next cycle? i always feel like i am progressing when i am trying something new - hope that helps?
Meredith - you are in my thought and prayer.
Sara, Mel, hope and all others xx
As suggested i am in my TWW! one embie on board. felling so so, not overly confident, but what will be will be, after 12 cycles you kind of think that this is never going to happen! will keep myself busy next week, and i too have stacked on the weight and am hungry all the time (blaming the HRT again)
hi ladies, just want to drop in to let you know I am still around...but currently my headspace is not good for personals...
Appt with FS is next Tuesday I haven't even thought about it and tomorrow (Monday) I need to have this big talk with the director at work about the prospect of this position they are offering me...I need to play tough ball in order to get 'what I have in mind', ie. either 4 days like I am now or full time with 25% increase on salary, which I don't think they have the budget for. DH is making his point about 'security about being permanent', I know he just wants me to take it...but I can't increase my days and still take the same salary, at least give me SOME incentives to go back to full time with extra responsibility. I don't want to go into a job with resentment. Anyway, this is catching up on me and I don't know what to do yet and how I am going to position myself tomorrow...
Loula, well done for having 1 embie on board, will be praying this is the sticky one.
Meredith, I hope you are ok, thinking of you.
Hi to Sara, Ms. Pink S&P and Hope...hope you are all having a good weekend.
Hi Girls,
Sorry for no personals but need some urgent help.
Went for BT this morning and my FSH came back with 13, my doctors says she thinks I should wait a month and see if it gets better but it seems that I can go ahead with the antagonist cycle if I want to.
Last time my FSH was 9.8 which they considered borderline but advised to go ahead, it turned out I had three eggs, one blastie, the blastie was affected and I didn't get to ET.
I am wondering if I should go ahead anyway as I am afreaid the FSH might come back even worse next month? Was thinking that as soon as I have the first ultrasound we'll see anyway what the situation is and can cancel then if it's bad?
Please let me know what you think, also has any of you a tip on how to influence the FSH so that it goes down? I think I might have heard something oabout Sharkey's herb somewhere but don't know anything about this - does any of you take it?
I'll turn 40 in June and don't feel I have can loose any more time.
Hope you all have a good weekend and thanks for letting me know your thoughts.
Sara
Sara - im sorry i dont know what advice i can give you. have you tried any natural remendies to help?
Thanks, S&P. Sam's doing pretty well despite the move and all the medical appointments he had in the same week. We still don't sleep through, but DH is sharing the load there, so it's not a great problem. We moved all of 4 blocks from our old house, so we managed to keep the same phone number... I just hope it takes a while before my (ex)students start popping up on my doorstep again!
As for the quality of embryos - I'm told if they can make it to blast and then survive freezing and thawing then you're in with a pretty good shot. Let's just hope the uterus is as young as the ovaries!
BW
Hi Ladies...
Sara - a tough decision for you ahead. I have been doing a quick squizz on the net for you. Look - some clinics will do it if you are under 15, most seem to want it max 12 and some under 10. I had mine only tested once or twice and it was more up one month then another. My doc at the time and the nurses told me it goes up and down monthly. I can only tell you what I would do..
If it were me..I would probably skip the month. I am saying this because I know how devastated I would feel going thru all the needles, scans and BT only to 'maybe' find a dud batch - if any. Now..this is NOT saying you wouldnt get any. I just know me and how I just have this big build up of tension thru the needles to the end. I really don't want to influence you.. but if you're anything like me..you like opinions and even if they are from both sides of the fence. For me..well I guess I like to make a more informed opinion and hear it all.
I did Sharkeys and sadly it didnt help me. There is a thread on here somewhere and a couple of people swear by it and others dont. I know CP tried it as well.
I have sent of an email to my lovely AP friend who also does Chinese herbs and will let you know what she says.
Sam - I neglected to tell you that my friend that had OHSS is over 1/2 way thru with twins!! Her symptoms were not sooo bad till she had transfer and then it was horrific. With this in mind - I am so glad you froze.. Hope the corner is in sight!
Molly - you're a few days down.. hope the next week flies by quickly for you and you have some good news at the end.
Loula - may I ask if the 12 cycles on your sig are full cycles or some full cycles and FET's? Very much hope you're TWW doesn't send you too mental and that you have that long deserved result this time..
Hope - glad you've started another cycle..I know the long one sucks..it's what my FS has made me do for the last 3.
CP - my lovely..hope you're doing ok sweetie..
BW - hope you're recovering from the move - I sooo hate them!!
AFM - went to the FS this week trembling as always. I have made him swear that he will tell me when it's time to call it a day..so everytime I go there...it is with trepidation.
Anyway - he said as we know my embies are not perfect.. but still good enough to make a baby (yeah.. right..still waiting!!).
So I know he is totally running out of options with me as i did the HGH last cycle and it didnt seem to do much. Anyway he said if I am willing to try all options, let's try Prednisone. I didn't show signs of NK cells, but do have an autoimmune thyroid issue. He said worth trying as NK dont always show up.
I am pretty nervous about the Prednisone cause it starts on day one of FSH and goes till end TWW or if PG for the first 12wks. I have seen how it can affect people as my Dad used to have to take it on and off for years. It's a nasty one this is..
But - obviously I said..bring it on..
So BT on 2 Mar to see if I have O'd then start Lucrin.
Phew - so sorry for the longggggg post chickies..
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend..so sad it's almost at an end..
MsP my 12 cycles consist of 4 stims and the rest FET's all medicated in some way or another!
For my last cycle is did th edreaded prednislone and am sure that is why i got so far before i mc, good luck with it, i hated weaning myself off and it felt like it took forever.
AFM
Last night i had this sudden wave come over me and a terriable thought that my embie was gone, stopped growing - only time will tell, still 11 days to go!
Oh Sara, sorry to hear about the b/t result. I can't give you any advice on that but I did had some experience with Sharkey, which you can google their website online. I did the questionare online then ordered consultation. I took their herbs about 6 months, I think it did helped me to regulate my hormone levels. At the time I was also doing AP and doing my temperature. The charts showed improvement so I do think it worked to some extent but as you know I am still not PG yet. It also takes at least 3 months to start working as they say. I have been quite slack lately and stopped last November while I was on stim cycle and haven't picked up since.
Let me know if you have any questions that I can help with. Good luck for making the decision, I know its gonna be a tough one as I know how much you want it to happen this month. Why things can't be simple? *sigh*
Hi girls,
Ms Pink: thank you very much I like opinions also for the advice and asking your friend. How are you going - hop eyour appointment shows you a way forward and that the predinisone is not as horrible as it sounds.
CP: Thanks so much for yoru support. Keeping fingers crossed for you for your work appointment tomorrow. Can understand you DH talking about the security of a permament job, it's quite tough out there at the moment. Hoping your appointment with the FS on Tuesday is helpful and gives you some answers.
Loula: thinking of you, hope you your dream wasn't ture, you are in a very stressful situation, be gentle with yourself.
Molly: take care and hang in there, not so long now.
:hello: BW
S&P reassuring to know that there are still some good people out there who returned your wallet. Hope your frosties will bring you the deserved result.
AFM I am still not sure what to do, they would let me start if i wanted but with the expectation that the cycle will probably get cancelled after tthe first ultrasound late next week or early the week after. I am just really scared that the result for next month might even be worse.....will be able to talk to my FS tomorrow afternoon.
Sara
Hey Sara - not sure which way you are leaning but if you feel a little stressed or wrung out, better to take a little break. I know is seems like a bas!tard when you first think about it, but you'll enjoy having a month off and less stress is good. maybe a step back will give you a better chance. I know the desperate feeling to get on with it.
I know of a very good herb that regulates your hormones that i use all the time, it is called chastree or Vitex and blackmores have one in Aus that you can get at the supermarket. I find it an excellent tonic, regulates and minimises period and pain, although you can't take it with stimualting drugs as could muck them up.
Loula - big sticky wishes for you, hopefully the HRT does the trick!
Ms P - prednisolone is quite a small does for IVF so hopefully you won't have too much trouble. yeah I was feeling sso yuk and if got preg would be much worse.
AFM - thanks everyone for your kind words, am still feeling crook but a bit better today. 11 of the embies are being frozen this afternoon. I expected less to survive the weekend, but they are going great guns. I keep thinking they are all dud and that I want them all thawed and grown on, and then do another stim without OHSS and that will be the magic bullet, but maybe not. Anyway don'tneed tothink about that for a while, just get better, then get back to normal. the thing of feling this bad is that not only you can't do anything but you really don't want to do anything, very boring.
We have a lovely night away in hotel in melbourne last night, was a voucher we got from a customer, so even better we didn't pay much. I didn't think I should go, but felt better once I got there and with lounging on the big bed and panadol and chocolate I actually got comfy. Had very nice dinner and relaxing breakfast. Was lovely!!!
Thanks girls for your support. Have now decided to wait another month. In between I'll be starting with DHEA hoping it'll help.
Lots of :stickyvibesgirl: and :bluedust: to all of you
Sara
S&M, put your feet up and you deserve a rest and 11 frosties are lovely, just think that you don't need to do stim for a while...maybe not at all...
Sara, glad you made the decision and hope the other things will also turn out ok so there will be absolute no effect on your cycle next month, only improvement!
Sara - spoke to my friend and she said in all honesty she doesn't think herbs or formulas will bring down the FSH. Please remember that I have also been thru this. The levels don't just rise every month. They will go up and down for several years. Please don't think missing one month will mean they will keep rising.
Have also been on DHEA since end of November. They say it takes 4mths to kick in - but who knows - thats what I have gotten from the American sites. Didn't help my last cycle so I am going to hang in there with the thought that it was still too early. Unfortunately my FS seems to think they are no more powerful then a vitamin. I told him the other day that (in a nice way) I very much hope I can prove him wrong!! I am a believer!!
Keep the faith kiddo..
Sam - that's such a great result. Congratulations!! I hope you're doing a little better today.
Hi ladies
Could you please tell me what dhea is for, or what it does ?
Thank you
No need to answer : I googled it ...
Loula, thanks, I did receive your message. I found someone really good and close to home.
Just found out our last emby didn't survive - and I was due for my transfer tomorrow! Trying to decide on whether and when to go ahead with whole new stim cycle and OPU now....boo!
just wanted to pop in and say hi, im hopeing to join you all again in the next couple of weeks.
my af is due around the 10th march and then i guess it all goes from there were going to do a nat fet:dance:
take care girls and best of luk to you all
Sorry girls, wrote long reply but lost it, will post again tomorrow.
Sara
Hi girls,
S&P: well done, that's really good.
Lulu: I agree with you in this - hopeing the DHEA will work for both of us - what dosage are you using and did you feel any side effects, I've started yesterday and us 25mg twice daily which my FS said is less than they're using in the US.
WLAB: have answered your question in the PGD thread.
Muppetshow: Sorry to hear that, take your time and take care.
Loula:  thinking of you
:hello: Smithy & BW
Sara
Just a quick update from work...
Yesterday, had an appt with FS about the fibriod and protocle for next cycle. Had a scan/sono to have a better look of the fibriods and now still waiting for FS to call whether it is removable or not. ITs not big, only 7mm. The concern is not size but the position seems to on the uterus lining which potentially could affect implantation. But just by what Gnynocologist mentioned yesterday, it actually didn't look as bad, close but not exactly on the cavity. Now I am having second thought about surgery to remove it. Who knows whether it is the reason that last two cycles weren't successful. I might give it another cycle to try my luck before jump into an invasive sugery.
As for next cycle, I am going to try Antagonist cycle. So just post a new thread to gather some information there, so if any of you have anything to share, I'd love to hear from you.
:hello: to everyone and will be back for personals....
Sara - phew.. I was a little afraid that maybe I was being too brutally honest with you. I am so glad you took it in the spirit that it was delivered..and that is with kindness and gentleness from someone who is in a very similar position and truly understands..
My FS recommended 75mg. I bought the tabs in the States...not knowing we couldn't bring them in without a script and didn't declare them - really had no idea then. So I got 50 and take that in the morning and 25 at night. FYI - I have since done lots of investigating and you can bring them in from the States (sooo cheap) in person, if you have a script in your name to prove they are for personal use. So crazy..in USA they sell DHEA with the vitamins in Drugstores..and here almost illegal - go figure..
Side-effects - more energy during the day. Some sleeplessness in the first 6 weeks or so. That's about it.
CP - Antagonist cycle - have done many...am ready and waiting for any question you may have. FYI - def the best one by far..
Sam - really hope you're feeling better..
Loula - hope you're surviving the TWW..:goodluck::goodluck::goodluck:
