This is what happened for us -

    9 eggs collected
    3 were not mature enough
    5 fertilised normally
4 at blast on day 5
1 transferred (and is now an 18month old girl )
    3 frozen blasts

On my first ICSI, 7 follicles were retrieved, 4 fertilised, 1 stopped growing, 1 was a slow-grower and 2 got to morulla stage. None frozen as both were implanted but none took.

On the second ICSI, 11 follicles retrieved, 9 fertilised, 2 implanted on day 3, 1 stopped growing and I think we have 6 snow bubs. I am a bad mother-to-be (hopefully) because I think 6 are on ice but my partner thinks it's only 4

    Hi
We got 14 eggs - 7/7 split ICSI and regular
of 7 ICSI, 4 made it to day 3 and were frozen then
of 7 others, 1 didn't fertilise and 3 (50% of those fertilised) made it to blast stage

    Good luck!

My FS has told me several times that getting 30% to blast is a result that they are happy with.

On my last two cycles with this FS I have had 100% at day 3 check and then 3/9 and 4/8 at day 5.

FS has also told me that getting to blast is more about sperm quality (up until day 3 it is all about the egg) so if there are issues with DH (like in my case) expect lower results.

    Good luck

    Hi

    Our numbers were as follows:

    30 eggs collected
    18 fertilised
    15 matured
10 day 3 embryos (Fresh Transfer angel, #1 FET BFN, #2 FET angel, #3 FET BFP who is now 6 weeks old)
    5 day 5 blasty's

We still have 3 day 3's and all our blasty's left.

Hi Muppity, I am really interested in what your FS says about up to day 3 it being about egg quality and getting to blast being about sperm quality. My partner has had a reversal a few years ago and was suffering from low volume and motility and morphology problems. I am yet to see a blast. We did a day 5 transfer on the first IVF cycle but only got two morulas. On the second c ycle we did a day 3 transfer, supposedly very good quality - one eight-cell grade 1 (which is `perfect' according to our lab's ratings) and one eight-cell grade 2 (`good' grade). This cycle we're aiming for a day 5 because i really want to see a blastie. We have seen a naturopath over the last three or more months and a recent sperm test came back with great results - improvements on all three markers. Our FS said we could fall naturally with these results, so we're that we get to a blast this time round.

Muppety-It will be interesting so see if we make it to blast as my DH has super sperm in all areas but i still am hesitant about then having enough energy to make it as we are 35 and 37 so not young

Hi, we just got our first day 3 report.

11 total eggs collected (9 good eggs, two not mature enough)

    7 total fertilised (with ICSI)

day 3 -all 7 still going strong.
1 Embie is at 12 cells
1 embie is at 10 cells
6 embies are at 8 cells

The nurse said 8 cells is what they like to see, so two of my little guys are super embies!!

Well i got my day 3 report
    1)9 cell
    2)8 cell
    1)7 cell
    all grade 1&2
    2)5 cell
    2)4 cell
    not so good
The head scientist said he is happy with anything over 6 cells on day 3 and it is what they want to see and we are at the standard numbers he would expect with 8 eggs so i guess i have to wait and see i am still in a panic we need a couple for pgd testing to get at least one healthy one.

    23 ferterlised
    12 day 5/6 blasties

im still waiting for our baby.........so i dont think numbers mean anything and i dont think just cause you get to blastie means anything..........loosing lots of hope with IVF now

    good luck with it!

    on our first cycle:
    11 eggs collected
    8 fertilised ICSI
    5 to day 3
    2 made it to blastie
    1 fresh transfer, didn't work
    1 fet, didn't work

    2nd cycle:
    12 eggs collected
    8 fertilised ICSI and compacting
3 made to the blastie - all rated as super embryos
1 transfer - a little boy due to arrive in 16 days
    2 on ice

All ours were blasties. FS said he was very happy with our results and he focusses on quality not quantity of embies.
