We are having an EPU next Friday and then subsequent ?baby? transfer on the following Monday. I have been having acupuncture once a week since July and have organised my treatments for after EPU and directly after ?baby? transfer.
I am really focused on doing everything I can to make this work at least if it fails then I can say that I did everything I could.
Anyways - My question is ? for those that have had acupuncture ? did you have it in the week leading up to your EPU and transfer? The only reason I ask is because my acupuncturist is on holidays next week and I am contemplating going and seeing someone else just to get that treatment in. The lady I am going to see after the EUP and transfer has said that they only reason they administer acupuncture in the days leading up is to relax you.
Just beforehand is to relax you cervix so that it is ready to accept emby, and afterwards is to ensure that enough blood flow through and will hold emby. Good luck and let us know how you go.
I am a firm believer in a/p. After 10 years and 6 cycles of IVF, we managed o get a BFP this year naturally after 6 months of a/p! it was the only thing that we had done different in the 10years of trying for a family! good luck and definately worth a session before and just afterwards!
I had acupuncture with my FET (not with my stim cycle). I had a session the week before my transfer, but that was to help with thickening my lining which was a problem at the time for me. On the day of my transfer I had a session in the morning prior to the transfer and in the afternoon after the transfer. From my understanding it is these 2 sessions (pre and post transfer) which are the important ones. These are the ones that they have done studies on that show an improvement in pregnancy rates.
I also had another session the week after my transfer to help with stress in the TWW.
Hope that it all goes well for you. At the very least I found that the acupuncture helped with my stress levels during that cycle... oh and by the way, that was the cycle that I got my BFP on!
