I posted to introduce myself on the newby board... but seeing that this is where I lurk mostly... I'll introduce myself here too
Hubby and I have been married since January 2006 - and I have been off the pill and not using any contraception since then. There's been times when we just "see what'll happen" and lots and lots of times where theres been constant pee testing, saliva viewing, charting and constant disappointment.
We finally decided after a few years of nothing - that we'd get tested at a Fertility Clinic, and it turns out that hubby has about 4% morphology... I have had a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy to have a cyst removed - but otherwise - no issues.
We've been told that we would have the best success with the ICSI procedure, and that our FS wouldn't reccommend IUI...
Other than being lost and feeling confused about when to 'do it' because of finances and government rebates (or lack there-of) - feel a lot more at peace to now know WHY we were having so many issues.. and chances are... we'll get some results with ICSI...
I am 25... Hubby is 29...
I have also recently had lapband surgery and so far have lost about 25kg from the highest weight I have ever reached.. I still have a long way to go... but I wanna give this baby of ours (wherever he/she may be) the best chance possible...
Anyway... my little spiel... I'll continue to lurk now
I have had lap surgery too back in 07, we got married last year and are doing ICSI/IVF (see my sig)
As far as the medicare thing - we are all in the same boat - I dont think there has been any concrete decision as yet. If you have a look on the boards there are some threads about it all - keeping us upto date. Last I read it still had to be passed through the senate next week.
Congratulations on the weight loss. I am sorry to hear your ttc journey hasn't being in the expected time frame. I am also in the same boat and am possibly looking at IVF. I hope you get your baby/babies soon.
Welcome. DH and I are also using ICSI and have had some good results with that - no pregnancy yet, but ICSI has provided us with some good embryo numbers that we couldn't have achieved without it.
just checked out your blog...cool!! love the floral pattern at top of page. Your photos show a big difference, good luck, well done so far and here's to happier, healthier you
