That's the way i do it now too. And then the sadness seems to not last as long.:
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you - but it's true what everyone says, things will go better next time because it's a bit of a learning curve. My first cycle went pear-shaped too, and many others have had cancellations. It sux, but it seems to be a necessary evil.

Thanks Missy - a bit of a coincidence with me and your friend huh? Anyway, I hope they enjoy their surprise birthday party. I am keeping mine fairly low key what with the first cycle and all, and because we can't really afford to do anything too extravagant - you should see the credit card bill this month!!!!:redface::

Hi Blayz, Kotare, Missy and all the new first timers...its been a good week and a half since i last wrote on here, just after my EPU and confirmation of fertilised eggs. On ET day, we were told that 5/6 had not developed well, so they were going to wait for the 5 days till blast to see if they could be frozen, the one they transfered was supposedly 'well developed' and 'were they expected it to be after 2 days', but i really don't know, first cycle and all! Anyway, i thought i'd have some time away for myself :)
Now, i'm back...the ET went well, was actually more painful for me than the EPU due to the build up of Crinone and now it's just the TWW period. I'm feeling good, and thinking positive, but it is such a nervous first time wait - i have looked up online so many times to see when i can do a HPT rather than wait for the BT, but DH keeps telling me to just be patient!
Sorry about the long post! You all sound like you're going well and aren't having 2 many side effects from the meds :dance: It was great to read Ltl Panda got a BFP, hope that we all follow in her footsteps :pray:

Well, here goes I am on the 2nd day of the BCP. All fingers crossed the nasal spray should start on the 12th July, not sure about the injections yet.

Kotare, I am doing well, thanks. I have a day jam packed with appointments tomoro, nurse, counciller and FS. I start the nasal spray on tues so am getting all that stuff. i will be on here Tues morning to complain about the taste!!:lol:

Thanks Smithy! Already I think I wont like the spray!! Went to the nurse and got all my stuff, injections and instructions. OMG it is SO much info but am sticking to the orginal plan of manage one day at a time! hope everyone else is having a great Monday!

Well, I started on the Puregon injections last night, 450mg so quite a decent dose there! DH went very well, although to say he was nervous was an understatement. Poo-ing his pants really, as he was too scared of hurting me!!
I am booked in on Monday for my ulstrasound, so fingers crossed that all will be ok and tracking on target. I must say, I am quite excited and nervous, still cant believe that we are finally doing this after waiting for sooo long. Finally something pro-active rather than sitting around waiting.
Good to see that there are a few popping the BCP and getting ready to start the synarel spray. Thats when you know its really happening.

Hi Randay - just checking in to see how your scan went on Tuesday. I had a scan this morning and we are set for an EPU on Saturday. Only follicle but we are hoping that this will be the one!

Hi Blayz - yes, some of the other ladies on another thread said that there could be more than one egg in my follie (yes - only one follicel, my body didn't respond well at all!), but my FS didn't mention that possibility this morning, and of course I forgot to ask. Anyway, I will know on Saturday how many they get - I have my fingers crossed for one good quality but more than that would be fantastic!! Hey, and no more spray for me - YAY! I am glad that you aren't finding it too bad - I found having something to eat or drink after taking it made the taste not as bad, but of course this isn't always possible. Hopefully you aren't getting too many headaches with it! Good luck with your cycle... and I hope your body responds better than mine did!

Blayz I know you dont love it but There is nothing I like about the spray. Just didnt sit well with me. But I really hope its ok for you. Well so far it is so that is good. (touch wood). I think im more excited about you and smithy then myself...lol
Chez67 I really hope you get lots of little follies on Sat I think you said. I wish you all the luck hun. Ill be watching to see how many you got. But hey just remember if you only do get the one, that it only takes one egg to get pg. Anything can happen.

Hey Blayz well had to do all the cycle again. Like what you are doing now. Spray, Injections, collection and then ET. I got 8 eggs, 5 fer, one ended up dieing and had the 2 ET done but as you know didnt work and now have my last 2 going in soon.
hey blayz well im going well on the pill except for pimples there eveywere on my face i always have them but at the moment there just terrible and reaaly sore but ill be fine just hanging out for tuesday to start the spray i think its going to seem more real when i start it..are you still going ok with the spray??
Missy I meant what do you have to do now to have the 2 Embies put back? Hopefully you dont have to use sprays and things. What is the process for that? Will you still have to build up your lining? And supps? Sorry if it is too personal I am just curious, not that i should be thinking that far ahead I should just be focusing on this cycle! LOL
Smithy still going ok on spray, no headaches yet, thank goodness, I have had a breakout of zits though, looks like we are zit buddies!!!

Just popping in to say 'hello' to some fellow ivfers. :D
This is my first go at ivf - I start syranel on 4/7/07 - a day after you Smithy!
Spray is safely tucked away in my closet (right next to my folic). I'm in the
ACT so there is no need for the fridge (its freezing down here).
I'll be doing ICSI as DH will be undergoing TESA. Really nervous and excited about it all. Fingers crossed for us girls!

Randa - that is great news. I have my fingers crossed for you for Wednesday's scan - hopefully you don't have the roller coaster ride that I just had with scans and drugs needing to be increased, etc.etc. Anyway, the whole story is in the LTTTC & AC June 2007 thread if you want the details :rolleyes: My EPU went well this morning - picked up one good quality egg and am now waiting to find out tomorrow afternoon how everything went, and :crossfingers: what time I go in for the transfer on Monday! Until then, I am resting up after this morning. No really bad side affects - just a bit tired and bloated and not a lot of pain, but then I only had one follie so I imagine it might be a bit worse with more!
Anyway, everyone here, feel free to join us in the June 2007 thread sticky that is at the top of each page. There are some fantastic ladies (and a token gent ;) ) there who can answer a lot of questions and share their wealth of experiences. Good luck everyone with your cycles and take care.

It's been a big fat 11 days since I posted...very remiss of me I know but at End of Financial year work tends to get in the way etc etc etc. Now where was I back then..Cancelled Egg Pick Up...well I am well and truly moved on from that, thanks girls for all the support it's great to be able to talk to people who know how you really feel.
On the plus side I was very naughty and had a big glass of bubbles for my birthday today! Still waiting on AF...has anyone else had to take the Provera after an unsuccessful cycle? I got through the Syneral and Puregon with no side effects but the Provera really hit me. I've got two more days of it so hopefully AF is here by then and I can start the Pill again! (Can I join the Zit buddies then?)
Anyway enough of life in my camp, it is GREAT to see how everyone has moved forward. Tan - glad to here AF arrived...(funny when we've spent so long trying to ward it off!) And speaking of - my fingers are crossed for your next ET Missy.
Blayz, Glad to here you are going okay on the Syneral -hope the Puregon is not too bad either.
Fi, let me know how you go, I had a dose of 200mg then 150mg and still had too many follies (which I just don't get!). But the Nurses did say that was good because at least they knopw I have the potential to produce lots of little eggies (Just not when I want the little blighters!)
