Any1 in 1st IVF Cycle???

Gee Shelly lucky you mine havent come yet:(.It says on my sheet of paper if it doesnt come by the 6th of aug then i have to call the nurse.I guess thats so they can delay everything or cancel it. Yeah im in on the 14th as well for my bloods then my ultrasound. Had a bad day on Saturday but other then that im feel pretty ok. Good luck with the job thing and a great idea to take a break so you can relax and get big fat and pregnant :lol:.

Hey Emma,

I actually asked on my last visit what happens if AF doesn't come before the injections. Would it have to be cancelled again? They said not necessarily, they just do an ultrasound to find out if you have any lining. If that's okay than they still go ahead. They told me that quite a few girls don't get AF and can still keep going. Only I can't remember whether you are supposed to have lining or not...(sorry) As they prefer you to get AF I assume you don't want lining. After I finished the pill first time around it took a week for AF to come anyway. Isn't that the way though, always around when you don't want it, never when you do!:doh:

Anyway, not a lady of leisure yet so off to work.

Thanks for the info Shelly. I have woken up really sick with the flu this morning so im gunna call the clinic anyway.Its always the way when you want them to come they never do but went you don't want them to come they come.

hi shellyd ... know how you feel ... my lil sis has actually gone into labour this morning, so she'll be giving birth today at some stage (so waiting for the phone call to go to hosp.) Pretty excited but also wishing it was me! felt all those emotions you described when i found out she was pregs and throughout! guess that's life! Good thing you're taking time off work! I am hoping I can manage the stress of work! that worries me the most as dont know how I will react to it all! Good thing have you all to talk to!

To all the others THANKS so much for the thoughts and sticky vibes, am holding onto hope!!!! Been very sore over the last few days, the Dr says it is normal after the EPU still got fluid in the ovaries, will hopefully settle. Am still just waiting til next week.

I haven't been on here for a while, so trying to catch up where everyone is. I've just been waiting around, have felt much better in last week though after having OHSS.
Tomorrow is the day i go for my pregnancy test, but i wont get the results till Thursday. Isn't it amazing how one day can feel like an eternity!

Oh i had a little bit of good news, 13 out of my 17 fertilised embryos were frozen. Yah!

WooHoo thats great news Jewel and 13 :egg:. You must feel like a little kid waiting for santa to a arrive. How come you wont get the results till thursday?? God that would just about kill me and ive have to do a HPT.

Well update from me - had EPU yesterday - 8 eggs. I called the clinic this morn and 4 had already fertilised. Mixed blessings - they were not able to obtain anything from DH's TESA, so donor was used. Its a really emotional time for both of us at the moment. I just love DH so much and while he is being absolutely brilliant about it all, I know that its going to take a while for it to really sink in. We are just so grateful that a very generous person out there has donated so that we can add to our little family.
Transfer is tomorrow and we have decided with 2 embies.
Heres hoping for :bellygrowing: for all of us soon.

Still feeling pretty crap today so ive had to keep my daughter home from school to look after me.
AF arrived this morning and i welcomed her with open arms for the first time in my life hehehe.

Thankyou to everyone's well wishes, I am crossing fingers, toes and everything else i can for a good result tomorrow.

Mum of 5, i live in the country and the blood results get sent over night to the clinic in Adelaide. I have restrained myself from taking a HPT, cause i read that you will always get a positive result because of the hormones you have been taking. Does anyone know about this one? I have been taking Crinone (the progesterone cream).

Just popping in to let you know that had transfer today - it was a little big uncomfortable but its all done now. The nurses were quite cute ie: trying to distract me with conversation about which side of the suburb I live on - might have had better luck with the weather.
I couldnt help but keep my legs crossed all afternoon - I know about the uterus = jam sandwich thing; but couldnt help myself.
Also a bit surprised about how soon they can apparently tell whether or not are preggies - either next Monday, 7 Aug or Weds, 9 Aug. I thought it was usually longer than that.

Hi Jewels...from what ive been told from other ladies its only when you are taking the shots not 100% tho.
Venus thats awesome news and you only have to wait a week you luck girl. The ladies at my clinic said ive got to wait 14 once ive had my transfer. 19 days to go but whos counting :lol:

Hi Jewel. If you are only taking the crinone supps then this wont affect the hpt. Its only if you have extra pregnyl shots that can affect a positive result. Oh and WOW, 13 frozen embryos!! That is awesome. Good luck with your blood test, i hope you get a BFP!!

Well I resigned today as I said I would, and my work loves me so much that I get to ditch the customer that causes me all the grief and sucks the life out of me, and work only two days a week so that I can have a more balanced stress free life....I love my bosses! How many male bosses want to see their female staff pregnant and on mat leave??? Bring on the long weekends EVERY week woohoo!

Had some stress tonight - lost my Syneral spray and we pulled the house, the garbage bin and the car apart looking for it. Hubby had the house, I had the car and mother and father in law had the garbage hehehe. Found it in the end so all is well. One day though, I am going to write a comedy about all the crazy things that happen on this trip!

Everything has been going well with me but now I have AF type pain, am a little worried? Did anyone else experience this and still get a BFP???

Blayz- the day i found out i was pregnant with my third child i got AF pains and an hour later i found out i was pregnant. I got alot of pains and stuff in the first couple of month with all my kids. Its cause of all the changes inside your body and everything growing and adjusting. I dont know if IVF is different to naturally falling pregnant,im pretty sure it would all be the same. How many more days do you have to wait>???

I got my BT results this morning, felt like forever but it was worth it. I got a BFP!! Yah!

Blayz i have been having AF pains all this week, so i kept thinking i was going to get AF and didn't, so Good Luck!

Emma, Syneral was in the car. The in-laws got the garbage because my mother in law said she thought she remembered throwing it out!!!! I am soooo proud of myself. I didn't yell and scream. I calmly told her the bin was out on the sidewalk for collection and the flashlight was in the cupboard! She didn't throw it out as it turns out, so I am secretly wondered if she's been into my drugs herself. :rolleyes:

Well Girls I am heading off on a 14 day holiday tomoro morn (early! Yuk!) , MUCH NEEDED Hol with my beautiful DH. I will be at Ayers Rock for BT day (6th Aug) so will have to wait til I get to Alice Springs or Perth to ghet my BT done. I will try to log on in my hotel to fill you in on all the details and results. Hi Everyone, Good luck Blayz for Monday, here's wishing for a BFP!!!! Looks like I'm having EPU next Wednesday. Have others here had general anaesthetic or the local with pethedene? I realise there are good and bad about each but is the pain really that bad?????

Hi Girls,

Well I'm back from this mornings EPU with only 1 viable egg out of two. Cannot explain after having at least two very decent sized follies they could only get 2! Surgeon didn't give much hope for the viable one whilst I was in the hospital but the embryologist rang awhile ago and said that it had progressed and they'd been able to fertilize it! Yipee!

Let's just hope that it makes it to ET otherwise it's back on the drugs!

Em - the needles actually don't hurt too much, though i had lots of little bruises all over my stomach last time. Plus lots of brownie points from DH as there is no way he can give them to me (he faints when I get a blood test!). But he does stand next to me (facing the other way) saying how brave I am and how proud he is, hehehe quite cute really! My EPU should be 20th as well, I'll let you know when I know what time it is, if yours is the same day, I kinda wish they put us out at westmead. The EPU is the thing I am most worried about!

Anyway just took my syneral and now my ears hurt...that's a new one!

Shelly i'm not looking forward to the EPU either.I'm crapping myself cause i don't know what to expect. My egg pick is the 20th or 21st i guess that all depends on how my body goes with the drugs. I'll be there bright and early on the 14th for my bloody and ultrasound.Your DH sounds very cute.My friend is going to give me my shots cause i just cant bring myself to do it and i don't trust DH cause if it hurt I'm sure i will blame him for it hurting so much lol.
