This announcement was actually made quite a few months ago (I remember my FS telling me about it the day the press release came out, even though we didn't need it).

It's about time I reckon! Fantastic news for those that need it.

Thanks for posting that great bit of news. We could all do with a little more financial help.
I have just realised that our ICSI was done on 3rd May and, even though the cycle was started in April, we are still eligible for a bit of a rebate. That's great news!!!
I rang the clinic to check and they were a bit mean, but i guess they don't always understand how hard this whole journey is. Even a small victory like this means a lot.
    Thanks for the post Shazz.

Wow! I wonder what that will mean for my clinic... where they don't charge extra for ICSI on top of a regular cycle. It was one of the reasons we chose to go with that clinic, as we knew we'd need ICSI. It does open up some extra options for us down the track if our snow bubs don't take.

Wow - that is great news about ICSI! My partner and I are just starting down the IVF road after TTC since Jan 06 - have started my down reg cycle yesterday... so I am very nervous and scared and excited all at the same time. Knowing that some more of the costs will be covered is great news as we really aren't very prepared for this. (We spent all our savings plus a bit on our holiday over Christmas in the hope that we would conceive naturally without all of the stress of work etc.) Apparently we will definitely need the ICSI as the doctor suspects it is DP who is the problem but noone can really tell us for sure! So, fingers crossed for everyone!
