Clomid & Luteal Phase Defect

Hi everyone... Just introducing myself in here....

DH and I have been TTC for 10 cycles (i know - not long, but it sure seems like it)

I have had numerous blood tests and scans done and so far so good with the pipeworks (so to speak) haha but the bloods were showing that I wasnt ovulating, so I was put on Clomid.

I usually have a 28 day cycle, it is now lucky if I get to 18-24/25 days.

So - my Clomid days are cd2-6. And I am having daily bloods from cd7 to check my levels before and after ovulation.

My Path Lab checks E2 (Estradiol), LH and Progesterone.

My results on the last cycle were great however I only got up to cd24 before spotting The same day I had a on my HPT... It was later determined by my doctor that I had fallen pg but had a chemical pregnancy. NEVER testing early again!

Anyways, what I'd like to know is are there any ladies out there who have had the same problem and did you have to take progesterone support from ovulation? Or did Clomid help to extend your LP dramatically? I am SICK of AF

Babe, I had similar issues. Clomid shortened my cycle down to 29 days, from 35. I had progesterone support from ovulation, but even so my second month of clomid I only had a 10 day lp. My ob was confused! Lol, and then the next month I got my sticky BFP. I had progesterone support till 12 weeks.

Bit nervous about how this cycle is going to go... My doc hasnt suggested progesterone support as yet. But I will be asking next time I go in Its getting to the point where I would O on cd 13/14 and only get to 10dpo! 11 dpo if im lucky...

Pretty sure if this cycle is the same then ill go on progesterone support...

Sorry if TMI... but is it a cream that u insert into your womanly bits?? or in tablet form?

Just wanted to give my experience. My LP was never consistent, it would vary anywhere from 10-15 days. 11 days was the most consistent it ever really got, but there was really no way of telling how long it would be cycle to cycle. My cycles varied from 15 days to 86 days, and my O date varied from cd 13 to cd 74, so I just wanted to give some Unfortunately a big issue with a short/inconsistent LP is chemical pregnancy, I had 3 and a miscarriage at 8 weeks before conceiving Isla. Progesterone is usually administered via injection, pessaries (inserted anally or vaginally) or vaginal gel via applicator. If you don't have private health insurance it can be costly.

babe, i hope this is the cycle darlin. My progesterone support were a pessary, which looked like a tampon and i inserted it before bed. It would melt inside (so gross!!!) I got thrush from using it
And it wasn't expensive after i shopped around. I got charged my first month $125 for 25 pessaries, i shopped around cause that is ridiculous and i ended up getting 30 for $45. Big difference!
