Colds and sickness around transfer time...help please
hi there,
Just a short note to ask about those who have had colds/similar virus around transfer time. I am due to have a transfer either Saturday or Sunday (so in 2-3 days time). I have a medium/bad cold but certainly it is NOT the flu - no body aches or fever.........just the usual sinus headaches/cough/running nose and tiredness.
My nurse said not to worry, ladies even go on antiobotics when they have the flu and still go ahead with their transfer.
I am just anxious because this is my last grade 1 embryo.....3 more after this, but they are grade 2 and 3.
Have any of you had a cold/sickness and still gone ahead with the transfer?
Hi Runnermum,
I don't have much advice, but seeing as no-one else posted i thought i'd do my best.
I had a cold last time i did a fresh transfer. It wasn't serious, but had i not been doing a tf i would have taken some cold & flu tabs. I also had spent half a day in hosp, due to my ovaries bleeding from the puncture wounds, which didn't help making me feel much better. My FS said definitely no probs going ahead - he wasn't even slightly worried.
Good Luck - i hope this is little emby is a fighter for you.
Oh, thank you for responding Kotare - much appreciated. My nurse and FS are not worried either and I do feel a little better today and it is 'just' a cold. I have been taking just Panadol, nothing more. Looks like my transfer may be Monday now, so it gives me a couple of days to get better.
i felt like i was getting a cold last transfer. I just dosed myself with as much vitamins to assist me getting over it as fast as i could and WATER, WATER WATER! Great for flushing any bugs out of your system and great for keeping your uterus hydrated, as cold and flu tabs can dehydrate you a bit.
btw my last tranfer was a sticker- so good luck!!!!
