crinone is renowned for being not only gross (disgusting, horrible - insert any description you can!) - and will often give pains. essentially, it feels like AF the whole time you're on it - not pleasant at all!

Unfortunately, hun.. welcome to the hideous world of crinone

EVERYTHING you're describing is exactly what the side effects are... and it will get worse as you get closer to the end of the 2ww

It starts to do your head in by the end - it mimicks AF pains & pregnancy symptoms...

Its feral, feral, feral - but its completely normal, so no need to stress xxx

YEP!! Disgusting stuff my friend! I get AF type pains on it all the time. I'm still on it now Smithy and it plays with your head!!

Soon it'll start coming out in clumps like wet toilet paper and it can also come out with a slight pink tinge too.

All is normal for the lovely crinone.

Been thinking of you Smithy...sending you love and hugs,

    Bel and baby/ies!!!

Aw Smithy, it is so gross isn't it. The first time I used crinone I felt like I had a giant fat tampon shoved up there and that it would pop out if I sneezed or coughed (he he sorry TMI!). I also had really heavy AF feeling and found the first week the worst. The second week seemed to ease off a bit though. The second time I used it I had much less symptoms - who knows why. It can also cause spotting (brown mucus) which comes from it iritating your cervix. I really think for me the crinone stage is the worst part of an IVF cycle worse than the Lucrin/Syneral/injections/trigger/scans/EPU/ET etc.

Another thing the nurse told me is you can digitally remove the left over substance every couple of days. I wouldn't do it until just before you are due to have your next crinone treatment. I found that helped the symptoms a bit too without affecting it effectiveness.

Smithy, if you get a BFP and they say you need to be on P4 support longer term, ask about pessaries - nowhere near as gross (IMO), less side effects (again IMO) and, if you're paying out for them yourself, heaps cheaper!

i would contact the clinic - they might change you to pessaries and allow you to use some topical cream (canestan etc) if need be. you might just find it's irritation from the crinone though - it's not pleasant

if it's only when you're using the gel, it might just be a sensitivity to the actual crinone - thrush would normally itch more than that

i would contact the clinic and let them know though

Hmmmm...Not sure if you can do anything for thrush Smithy. I agree with BG. Now I'm pg, I have switched to pessaries. MUCH cheaper and not so repulsive.

Hope you get some answers my friend.

Thanks for the PM and enjoy your Sunday.

    Big hugs always,
    Bel

    HI Smithy,
Unfortunatly this is not going to offer you any practical help at all - as everyone else has said crinone is horrible and is evil stuff. Which is where I come to my impractical help - I firmly belive that crinone is evidence of the male dominance of the health/pharmacutical industry - no woman in her right mind would make something like crinone for another woman!!!

Hope that things are getting better, but it is horrible and as BG suggested the pessuries (which are often used for thaw cycles) are a heap better.

    Good luck.

FG!! Absolutely hun. So nice to be able to get a laugh out of something to do with crinone.

Smithy perhaps they can move you onto pessaries 'cause as BG said, they are much nicer (although a little waxy).
