Question Is DH expected at first FS appointment tomorrow?

I'm looking for some advice on whether my DH should come to the appt I have booked with our FS tomorrow afternoon.

It's our first appointment, but we have seen the same FS previously to conceive our DS, so he knows us and our conception issues.

I made the appointment to get the ball rolling really, but I'm still BFing with no AF so far, so I don't imagine we'll be starting treatment soon. I just want to talk to FS about what we should be doing and when given that I'm now 35.

The appointment will be difficult for DH to get to, and he's asked me if he needs to come along. I don't feel like I need him there, but would like to know if FS will want him there, given that it'll be our first appointment for what will hopefully be our next child.

    Any advice appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hi Honeybee,

For what it's worth, my FS NEVER met my DH! Even places where they might have crossed paths, like at the hospital for my EPU, they never met. The FS might give you a script for DH to do a new semen analysis or something, but I doubt DH needs to be there for the FS to give you the form, esp. if the FS is already familiary with you guys. In my case, the FS just gave it to me to give to DH, then the FS told me the results of DH's analysis the next time I had an appointment (which in retrospect sounds like it might have violated some health privacy laws, but maybe there's some exception in the law for where both members of the couple are joint patients, as you are when doing fertility treatment). Depending on your FS, maybe he'll make your DH come in if we wants to hear the results (although mine didn't). I'd be curious to know what other FS's do in this regard! Anyway, at your visit tomorrow I would imagine that your FS will probably just talk to you about stuff like treatment/cycle options, which probably doesn't directly affect your DH anyway IYKWIM.

    Good luck!

Thanks very much kitkat and marcellus. I didn't think he'd need to be there, but didn't want to turn up and have them say he should have been there.

    Thanks again!
