I've been seeing a Naturopath for 3 months now and my AF has improved considerately however I've yet to see a bfp. Still working on DP to take some zinc at least.
I would highly recommend a naturopath or TCM for overall wellbeing
All the best
I have been doing some reading on herbs and other ways to assist in conception and I am wondering.... What worked for you?
I am having trouble with ovulating it seems , as before my m/c I only ovulated three times in five months.... Although we did get pregnant I am just wondering.. Incase we have to go down that road later on.
Did you use herbs? if so which ones? Obviously I would be consulting a specialist in this field before tailing anything
thanks in advance for your help![]()

I took herbs for ages and it did nothing for me. However after 5 years of IVF I had accupuncture once and was pregnant naturally within 3 months, dont know if it was that it may just be coincidental but thought it was worth mentioning.
Natural therapy did work for me, here is what I used from an older post of mine...
Hi everyone,
Just got a BFP, after two years of trying. Still getting my head around the fact that this is actually happening!
Just wanted to share what has helped me in terms of natural therapies:
For bub #2 I had pelvic inflammatory disease (undiagnosed at the time) and the natropath put me on the following herbal formula, and I had a BFP in 6 weeks: False unicorn root, withania, globe artichoke and chaste tree.
For bub #3 I actually had three courses of antibiotics to treat the then diagnosed PID, then took the following liquid herbal formula: kelp, sarsparilla, pulsatilla, rasberry leaf, buchu, chamomile, dandelion. I also used sasmar 'conceive plus' lubricant which mimics fertile CM.
Both times I also took preg vitamins and a supplement which has Vit E, fish oil, and evening primrose.
So this time don't know if it was the antibiotics, herbs, lubricant or just my time.
Hope this information helps someone else. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Babydust to all,
Hope this helps you..
I highly recommend using Traditional Chinese Medicine and Accupuncture. We had been TTC for 14months before starting with TCM/AP and 3 months later, BFP! I noticed changes to my cycle within the first two weeks. Definitely worth the $$ and I found the AP very relaxing which can only help TTC. Good luck!
Maca Root! I also took EPO up to O day to improve CM, but honestly, I would recommend Maca Root even if not ttc! It works on your pituitary, so stimulates your body to sort itself out, rather than directly affecting any particular hormone.
Shel, I've got the powdered form of maca powder. It's not so nice tasting.
I got it from the local body building store for $25. Tho, I only took it for a week before starting on the herbs from the naturopath.
Maca powder can assist with energy levels and known to increase fertility. It's the active ingredient recommended on the natural fertility website. The fertility smoothies all contain maca powder.
I think I would prefer the tablet tho![]()
Thanks CBGIs it ok with breastfeeding?
Gosh, I haven't got that far I'm not sure. Check out 'Natural Fertility Info' google it and it's the first site. There is heaps of info re: maca powder, royal Kelly etc.
SorryI sometimes speak before i think 'hhmm maybe i could look that up myself '
I can just imagine how the powder tastes 'shudders' lol
Speaking of herbs etc, a friend was just telling me yesterday about her IVF journey ,she said how she went through all of everything etc but when she started doing acupuncture she fell pregnant almost straight away. Although iv heard of a lot of ppl having success with herbs etc as well
I believe that the acupuncture assists with balancing the energy levels of the body (chi) and the herbs compliment it. For me acupuncture helped with the lining of the uterus. Making it strong and healthy.
What I like about TCM is the holistic management of the body and balancing it out. Where as modern medicine looks at the symptoms and not the cause in a tunnel vision manner. If that makes sense.
The herbs I'm taking at the moment help with PMS, cramps and correcting the length of my cycles and overall wellbeing.
A good book (not sure if I've mentioned it previously in the thread) is called 'Natural Fertility' and I like Natural Fertility website and Menstruation dot net (that is the right Website link- I'm on the phone and can't check) it goes into the lunar cycle and creating a powerful ovulation if your body is line with your lunar phase (time and place of birth etc). I've got the sites in my favorites, beware tho last time I directed a friend to a porn site re: menstruation site
