I thought I was doing pretty well just talking to DH and various friends who understood where I was at... but taking the time to talk to someone who doesn't have the emotional ties to what's going on has been way more helpful than I ever thought possible.
Rols I agree with BW the first clinic we went too was medicated cycles and it mucked up my body no end and I was really sick. Now we are going for our 2 boost cycle and I feel much better. I hope your DW love the accupaunture as much as I did I am definate convert.
As you say Rols this is your thread - so you can go OT as much as you like!
Thanks for your kind words. We had 2 embryos put back. We only went to day 2 embies, as that's what our FS does as a preference. I'm sure blasties have a much better chance. As you might remember we have serious egg quality issues, and although we initially signed up for one only, my FS recommended two on the day. We had decided in advance to take whatever advice he gave us on ET day, so we went with it. We didn't find out about number 2 until we lost it. My ovaries were enormous and full of cysts on scan day, and so one of the little guys was hidden away.
Our clinic offers 100% free counselling sessions for us the whole way through. And from what i have been told - they aren't just fertility related sessions. I hope whatever therapies you guys do, it'll make the journey a whole lot easier. Simply getting your life in order and eating right, exercising and feeling happy is a great tonic sometimes.
Oh and BTW i think Gina is the only lovely lady on BB who got one emby put back and is now expecting an amazing pair of identical twin boys. What an outcome aye...it can happen
You're very right about exercise and diet and mental health, no doubt about it. I do a lot of physical activity for sport and recreation and eat really well and things like that definitely help. I used to get a noticeable mental shift when swimming 1km most nights, and had a similar sort of thing when I was doing 10km running most days. But as I say, on the whole I'm on a pretty even keel, just occasionally the balance gets a bit stuffed up.
As for the one or two question, I guess we'll have to make a final decision once we've had the chance to talk to the FS. DW's main concern is that she wont have room for twins as she is around 47kg and 5'3". The nurses said even if it did happen she'd be fine and smaller women often have smaller babies. She definitely wouldn't have room for two 10 pounders though!
We had 2 embies transferred at 1st cycle (Not successful) as we only had one frozen we opted to do a new stim cycle as would have been upset if that 1 didn't survive the thaw. 2nd stim cycle we had 2 ET successful with twins (fantastic) 2 more frozen at this cycle.
We are now starting our first frozen cycle to hopefully add to our cycle and this time only transferring one. Love our twins but don't think I could handle 2 sets.
