Yes I started it when I had my first ivf cycle in April. Unfortunately the cycle failed but I kept up the treatments in preparation for another ivf cycle. I found the month after ivf by cd 14 I had hardly any cm so I was also prescribed Chinese herbs, by cd 17 I had lots of ewcm and really felt that the combination of needles and herbs helped me. Lucky for me I never needed another ivf round as I fell pregnant this very same month and I am now 20 weeks!
I continued acupuncture every week for the first 10 weeks, then continued fortnightly.
Goodluck I hope it helps you.
I had acu after my second miscarriage to regulate my periods.
They regulated after the first session and I was pregnant after my second session. I'm now 26 weeks. Definitely worth a go.
I used acupuncture to help conceive my second DD after I had no luck after about 9 months of trying.
i started treatment with herbs and acupuncture and conceived the first cycle after that.
Added benefit was that I felt so much healthier during treatment too. I felt my body responding really well, more energy, digestive system regulating, odd niggling pains sorted out.
I then saw my acupuncturist for the first trimester to help with morning sickness and then every now and again for the first year. I also got a lot out of it when I was suffering from PND.
I've seen an acupuncturist with each of my pregnancies (but only towards the end with DS1 and DS2 when I went overdue). The one I see now specialises in women's fertility and health and has a good track record of helping women to conceive. The local hospital also refer overdue mums to her as she's also good at getting things moving.
I would definately recommend it - with DD this year, I started acupuncture before ttc and then during the pregnancy and felt fantastic. It's also really good if you get a cold whilst pregnant and can't take much for the sinus pain etc as it releases the sinuses.
The lady I see now got my body ready prior to pregnancy and she also focusses on getting your cycle regular beforehand.
I had acupuncture with chinese herbs for about 6 months before I was made redundant and couldn't afford it anymore
In that time, I went from an 8 month cycle to an 8 week cycle, with pre-menstrual migraines. The migraines don't sound fun, but I was ecstatic because I used to get them when I first started menstruating, and when the PCOS kicked in, the migraines went away.
Obviously it didn't get me pregnant, but I have no doubt that if I'd been able to continue, it would've worked
My acupuncturist couldn't help with my cycles (period was non existent) despite trying for over a year and also trying herbs, but did help with IVF while TTC both our kids. (Currently pg with #2). Also it's brilliant for helping with stress, sleep, and generally feeling better.
I started acupuncture about 8 weeks before my 3rd cycle of IVF. I noticed a difference in my period straight away, had less pain & no clots ( which i used to always get). I didn't do the herbs because my acupuncturist knew my FS & she does not recommend it. But I felt so much better this cycle & we got out BFP this month! I think it can't hurt to try, good luck.
After doing 6x IUI, 3x IVF and 1x FET (all BFN) with our FS, I started acupuncture. We got our first ever BFP in the second month of treatments (without medical assistance), but unfortunately it ended in m/c. Several months (and another IVF) later, I changed to a new FS and he did a lap to diagnose and remove my endo. We did IVF#5 (first with the new Dr) and that gave us DD. I had been taking a break, but resumed acupuncture after the lap and continued it through the IVF cycle and pg (and I had a very easy pg).
When AF returned and we started TTC#2, I went back to acupuncture and, again, we got a BFP in the second cycle (without medical assistance). Unfortunately that one was a mm/c.
We are hoping to do a FET on Monday and I have been doing acupuncture to prepare for that and will continue through to the end of the cycle (and hopefully beyond).
It doesn't work miracles, but I do believe it can help. I'd highly recommend seeing someone who specialises in fertility.
