Hello babyskye. I am so sorry you have gotten this news I have not been through this, but I will be having a laparoscopy to look for scarring in the near future, so it is something I am very scared about too.
Hi babyskye, sorry you had to get that news.
I haven't had a laparoscopy, but had a post-natal infection, and now have a blocked tube on one side, and the Dr said that I could have damage to the other tube including scarring. Is this where your scarring is? Do you know the causes or treatment?
hey i do not know what causes the dr just said any kind of infection the scaring is in the tubes i have the choice of having more surgery to try and remove it all or just having ivf, i will most likely go for more surgery since i get a lot of stomach pain with the scarring
babyskye, i also had an infection which is why my doctor thinks my tubes could be blocked. Looks like we are all in the same boat, just different stages So did the doctor say there is still a chance to concieve naturally for you, or is ivf the only option? Xox
I have a friend who can't concieve naturally due to scarring in her tubes from endometriosis.
She did conceive once at 17, before she knew all this, but had an ectopic pregnancy & had to have that tube removed.
We are hoping that one day she'll be able to conceive through IVF & have a normal pregnancy, but she doesn't know the extent of the scarring yet & what condition her uterus itself is in. I hope you don't have too much trouble conceiving hun.
Hey i only spoke to the dr for 10 mins as i was coming out of the anastetic so i dont really remeber much but she did say proberly only have a 1% chance of concieving naturally cos the egg wont go through tubes and its an increased chance of ectoptic pregnancy so ivf most likely the only way. i do have a 7 yr old that was natural they said scar tissue can occur from any kind of infection even a tampon that was packaged hygenicly!! apparantly scar tissue blocking everything is one of the main reasons for infertility
I'm so sorry to hear that babe I contracted Pelvic Inflammatory Disease from a D&C after a miscarriage, the infection becamse so bad (I didn't know I had it) that I had a constant fever and ended up in hospital, so I am terrified that finding out I have really bad scarring will be what happens to me too Are you going to consider IVF? Best of luck to you.
Yeah depending on what the dr says when i have my follow upp next month but most likely will try and start ivf in the next few months, bit scary though dont really know whats involved with ivf
Hi guys, short story, 3 years ago I dealt with IVF due to chronic scaring from endo. Lap fixed the problem, unfortunately 1st implant failed, was prob stress due to husband at the time having an affair. Am about to head back to IVF with new partner. Lap definately helps to deL with the scaring, pain not to bad seeing as it's a hope to increase your chance for a child. Good luck. Melly
Thanks Melly
i am actually having surgery nect month to remove some adhesions very excited but scared as well fertilty specialist seems to think i should be pregnant with in 6 months so fingers crossed!! Do you know if adhesions grow back??
Yes it can do, but it does take a while and you do get a period of time post surgery, when everything as all good and the scarring, fibroids etc aren't there and won't cause problems.
It is also possible that it won't grow back.
Thanks guys i am planning on getting preg strait away so it shoul be fune ( got to think positive!!), The FS also said that a pregnancy will most likely help with the scarring something about it stretching everything??
